Sumptuous Olive has fantastic pigmentation, is easily blended, great lasting power, and an amazing formula (veluxe pearl, my favorite). However, I don't think this shade is universally flattering. On me, it's not a true olive, rather a golden-brown bordering on coppery-orange. I think other fair-skinned ladies have experienced the same problem. So, as far as I'm concerned, I would rate this shadow a 3.5 or 4, but for general purposes, I'm giving this a 5 because it seems to work like magic for darker skintones.

Sumptuous olive was one of the first e/s I bought from MAC! Very highly recommended by the MUA's working there. I loved it at first, but after a bit of wearing it, I began to realize that it kinda blended in with my skin tone.... The color is beautiful, I guess just not on my skin tone =(

i like this yet to try/work with it a little more but from the little i used it seems like a color i cant go wrong with!recomend using it with greensmoke and blanc type!
I'm sooooooooooooooooo disappointed in this...
After reading all the great reviews I had to try out this shadow. I have pale, warm toned skin and warm toned brown eyes and love olive/khaki toned shadows. But this shade just does not work on me at ALL.
This shadow has a strange undertone to it that made it appear almost orangey toned on my skin. It didn't look olive or khaki on me at all, just like a frosty, brassy, coppery/orangey brown. It is not at all a true olive or khaki colour. I also found it very hard to blend and splotchy looking.
I had such high hopes for this after reading all the raves, I wonder if I got a bad one or something?!? Bummer....
This may work better on medium and/or deeper skintones.

I have every color of MAC makeup under the sun, but this is my favorite eyeshadow color of all time with ANY makeup line. I have hazel eyes and this color plays off them well. It blends perfectly, with an automatic background of a golden brown so it looks like you've applies more colors when you really haven't. Just the right amount of shimmer. Whenever I'm running late, i slap this color on with some mascara and I'm good to go. Love love love it.
Sumptuous Olive... *sigh* I adore this color! I use it alot and already made a dent in the pan lol I know it sounds weird, but I use this color all on the lid and then I use Omega in the crease with print on the outer corners. Looks great! gives you a nice subtle smokey eye without going totally dark! A definate must have <3 continued >>

I know Sumptuous Olive is a beautiful shade on brown, green or hazel eyed girls. Stunning. For all you blue/grey eyed beauties out there.. don't bother. I've tried all year to make it work on my self and similarly coloured friends/family. On blue eyes: Best case it's nothing special. Worst case it will make you look queasy.

I really love the color of this goldish-green on my hazel eyes. I love it with gorgeous gold, woodwinked, or sketch. I really don't love the texture though. I can work with it, but it's not my favorite. But overall it's a definite thumbs up!

Sumptuous Olive is the perfect green/golden color for brown eyes. It looks great when I pair it with greensmoke or tempting. This is a great color for all skin tones.
