gave into the GHD hype, but have to admit they are very good. i have very long wavy thick hair and this is the only way to straighten it. i still can't get the knack of curling with them tho, as i have the salon size.
i got them for £120 or so off the GHD website, but came with 3 products free - shampoo (crap) heat protector spray (ok) and some sort of gel (pointless with a pair of salon size straighteneres i thought!)
worth the investment!
I just LOVE it. I have been using my beloved GHD for almost three years now, every second or third day in order to create curls. I haven't noticed any damage on my fine hair yet, but I must add that I always use conditioner and treatments on my hair to keep it moisturized.
4 days ago my hairdresser used another expensive flat iron on my hair. I can tell you, there is such a huge difference. With a GHD, my hair is SO shiny and bouncy (I always create big curls). It looks healthy, even if I haven't had my ends cut for several months.
As a hairfreak I can recommend this tool as a long term investment in beautiful hair which in the long run is really worth it!!!!

Used them for about 8 years now and I'm on my second set. Will never ever use anything but GHD!! Nothing will ever come close. They are expensive but considering I had my first set for 5 years before they blew up the cost is worth it. I use them every day and I use them to curl my hair too.
I went for years without buying this because I thought it was too expensive. Instead, I probably ended up spending more on cheaper and crappier straightening irons. I finally gave in and the difference was instant. Even though I don't use them that often, I have seen nothing that compares to the results that GHD's give me.
I bought mine for around 90 pounds. If you want to know whether you're buying them from an authorised seller the GHD website has a page where you can check if they're legit or not.
i have had mine soooo long! i wouldn't use any other iron on my hair as i know that it would not compare to this! i use mine everyday for curly, straighty or wavy hair. i have very long hair and the normal size is perfect because my hair is thin and fine. it makes my hair look healthy, shiny- just simply amazing. i love it so much. i won't buy again because i will never have to! i've had mine over 2 years (maybe more) and there has been not one problem with mine and they still look new if you look after them probably. the only reason why they wouldn't be good is if they were fakes so make sure you buy it in a proper salon not off ebay! i just couldn't live without my GHD's!♥x continued >>
I have thick, wavy, frizzy hair. I've been straightening my hair for years and after lots of no-name straighteners, I decided to spring for this one. I am so happy I did!
At first I was afraid it would make my hair "too straight" (I don't like the stick straight, non-voluminous, with no curl/flip look)... While there is definitely the possibility for a stick straight look, rounded edge allowed me to add shape and volume! My hair was shiny! Flyaways were tamed! The styler did not snag on my hair! This product is amazing!
PS. It heats up in seconds too!
I purchased this flat iron about 1.5 years ago. I use it a few times a month (about 4 times) and have not had any problems with it technically speaking (i.e. breaking, not heating etc). It smooths the hair beautifully however, I did get a lot of split ends after using it for about 7 months. I think this is the case regardless of the flat iron though. Excessive heat will eventually lead to breakage and split ends. It is very pricey as I paid well over 300$ for the professional 1.5 inch iron. I found that using the CHI shine infusing spray with this flat iron does make my hair look and feel like silk so I definitely recommend using a heat protecting/shine inducing product beforehand.
Sooo,I have to join the hype and say this is the best flat iron I've ever tried. I bought a while ago, but I decided to wait until I write a review. And here I am, 2 months later. It made my hair look good every day, although I use it only 2 times a week, but it also dried it. I don't mind, though, because imy hair looks fuller now and it is nothing that I cannot fix. Totally worth the money.
This is the best hair straightener for a reason. It just glides through hair effortlessly and I can straighten my long curly hair so quickly with it. If I'm in a rush and don't have time to straighten all my hair I just use it to make some nice waves and curls around my face, such a versatile tool. Love that it tames my frizzy thick hair. This is probably the best investment I ever made when it comes to my hair.
