ELF's Eyeshadow Brush is a basic paddle brush from their Essentials line. This is a much talked about brush that's received it's fair share of cheers and jeers. Like all ELF products, this brush is vegan and cruelty free, with synthetic bristles.I have four of these brushes. It can be purchased at http://www.eyeslipsface.com/, Target, Kmart, Big Lots, and as of recent, Walmart. Like all other products in the Essentials line, this brush sells for $1.
This brush comes packaged in a plastic envelope that can be reused as a brush holder, but I toss them out. ELF frequently includes this brush in their sets, so it can come packaged in many ways. I have a mini version that came with a Beauty Encyclopedia. I also have a double ended version, with an eyeliner on the other side.
ELF's Eyeshadow brush is a basic paddle brush, a staple in any brush collection. The bristles are very dense and firm, while remaining soft, with just the right amount of give.
The shape of the brush is inconsistent and varies slightly from brush to brush. Some are shorter or longer than others. Some are rounder or more pointed than others. It reflects poorly on the brand, I think.
his brush has a couple of different uses, the main one being patting on and packing on shadows. It performs this task excellently, and is what I use it for mainly. It picks up the perfect amount of product. The ELF Eyeshadow brush can also be used in the crease, if you use just the tip; the more pointed brushes work better for this. This brush can also be used for blending in a pinch.
These brushes do not shed. Of the four I have, only the mini one sheds, and it's minimal. Mini versions of brushes are usually sub-par quality, so I'll excuse this one's marginal shedding. ELF's Eyeshadow brush's synthetic bristles do not stain and stand up well to washing. I've had two of these brushes for about 2 years, and they're still good as new. No loss of bristles or loosening of the ferral. Just some nibbles on the end of the handle.
I'll admit that when I first got this brush, I kinda hated it. I barely used them. I tried using it to sweep on shadows, and that resulted in miserable failure. I read multiple reviews, and watched Fashion is my Crush's video about ELF brushes, and learned that this brush is designed to pat shadow on. Since then, me and this brush have become close friends. Best Buddies even. I use this brush on a near daily basis. My four aren't enough. I need MOAR.
I highly recommend this brush. It'll quickly become your go-to brush. I also recommend picking yours up irl, so you can get the brush with the most optimal shape. This brush is excellent quality, especially considering the price.

It's the best eyeshadow brush I have ever had!
and it's only a dollar!
soft, dense, perfect size
I've had mine for 3 years and it still looks like new!
I would definitely repurchase and I recommend it to anyone!
Price: $1
The essensial brushes were my first items from ELF. I LOVE this eyeshadow brush I have the older version (about 6 or 7 yrs old I still have it) and their newer version (bought about last year) They have improve the brush!
Its not stratchy and gentle on your eyes. The brush is also very dense.
You just have to becareful about washing this brush try not to get any water between the metal and wood or else it would pop off.
Amazing for 1$. Grabs color and applies nicely. Very easy to use and will purchase more elf brushes in the future. Very glad I bought it.

Dirt cheap but doesn't look dirt cheap. Grabs product really well, applies product perfectly and it isn't too big so it's perfect for my small deep se eyes. I use it to pack the color on my lid and it's straight so I can use it for my crease and I think it blends em pretty well also. Fabulous brush. No hairs fall out. I've had it for a year and it still looks new. Def repurchase
I use this brush daily. I use it to deposit colour on my eyelids. it works great, and i am young and dont have a lot of space to work with. it isnt too big for me to use, it's great :D it's pretty soft, not very firm. It's overall a great brush, esp. for just $1!

I've been using two of these E.L.F. eyeshadow brushes for several years now. They are absolutely two of my favorite eye makeup brushes of all time. This is one instance in which price is NO indication of quality - I've got brushes that I paid much more for that are not nearly as good as these.
Like some other reviewers have mentioned, some of the brushes do shed. I got one that shed quite a bit, but I simply re-crimped the crimp line with a pair of pliers I had lying around, and haven't had that problem since.

For $1 you really cant get a better brush for eyeshadow. I also think that given the price of the brush, there is some luck of the draw in the quality. The two that I have do not shed at all...however, I have had other ELF brushes that shed like crazy...but again...whose complaining for a $1 brush?
I use this to pack on eyeshadow, blend eyeshadow/liner under the eye, and to blend out liner on the top lash line...it does its job perfectly....def comparable to higher end brushes...i really like that its smaller than similar brushes...it does its job perfectly.
I am thinking of buying a few more, one for concealer, and a few others just to have in rotation if i need the same brush for multiple colors. continued >>
