This worked for me the first time I tried it. I actually went out and bought another tube after I used it up. I tried it again about a year ago, and it was absolute crap. It was clumpy and it made my eyes itchy.

This is honestly the worst mascara I have ever tried. My lashes are thin and fair and a decent length but unnoticeable without mascara. I bought this macara when it first came out and threw it away almost immediately. The brush was awful, but moreso, it clumped sooo badly that I didn't even want to be seen in public wearing it. Thus, it was difficult to apply, did not work well and did not extend my lashes whatsoever.

I called Rimmel to complain about how awful the mascara was (because I found it *that* awful). The company said they would send me a coupon for the cost of the mascara and a different replacement product. It is now many years later and I have never received either. I have also never purchased another Rimmel product again. Not out of spite, but out of a belief that the company makes inferior products and isn't willing to stand behind them.

Seriously, buy a different mascara. This one sounds enticing but is the exact opposite.

It has decent curling power and lengthens a little bit but it doesn't have enough building power for me. It was heavier than I expected it to be. it is pigmented just enough. lashes looked "a little more noticeable than natural"-I compare it with Maybelline great lash as far as texture goes, it is soft but the pigment doesn't compare..
I don't like the handle. Its bigger and bulky.

This is the best mascara that I have ever used. It makes my lashes long and holds curl without making them stiff. Its really black too. Which I love. The swirls on the cap make it easy to turn to open it too.
Love, love, love this product.

I was hoping this would be good but it was terrible. I made me little length and no, absolutely no volume and it doesn't hold a curl. I normally don't really even need to curl my lashes b/c mascara normally give them some lift but this is the only mascara I've ever used to made my lashes droop. Because of this mascara I haven't been wearing mascara at all recently b/c it does nothing for my lashes :[

It's good for lengthening but it doesn't really make a huge difference. My lashes look very natural. The curling properties is not the greatest but it's there. It doesn't clump nor does it give you spidery lashes. In fact, it separates lashes very nicely and gives a nice feathery look. Since I have thin lashes I would prefer to have more volume but if you're just looking for length and very natural lashes, then this is great because it's cheap too. I find it's much better when used on top of my BadGal mascara especially at the tip of the lashes to make them longer. On it's own, I'm not impressed.

I'm surprised at the low reviews. I am amazed at the length and curl (yes, applied in the car to bare lashes with no curler available!) It is very smooth textured,so no bumps or clumps, just natural looking very long lashes. I like volume too, so will have to layer something on top, that's the only reason for dropping one lippie - but for the excellent length and lack of clumps it definitely gets my love.

I am very picky with my mascara and this one is one of my favorites. Makes them nice and long with great separation and no flakes or smearing. I love L'oreal Volumnous but I hate the flaking and smearing. I always put a couple of coats on no matter which brand and this one looks great.

this is my first rimmel mascara and so far i really like it .. A LOT. this mascara does not give me any clumps and it does not smudge at all. it somewhat thickens my lashes and gives it some lengthening but it holds the curl so WONDERFULLY. i recommend this product. =]

EDIT: i have been using this mascara for a really long time now and i have to say this .. this is my all time favorite mascara! it still doesn't clump my eyelashes and it holds the curl so greaat!!
