I bought this because so many people call it their "HG", I got the waterproof to avoid smudging because its getting hot out. It is impossible to get off, and smudges a lot. It did make good eyelashes at first but it didn't do what I was hoping for. The packaging needs an update and the formula is too wet and has a small flaking.

Urgh, I am so torn!
I am a vegetarian,strictly against animal testing,and boycotted L'Oreal's products years ago, but a member of my family gave me this mascara as a birthday gift. (for those of you who don't know, L'Oreal tests their products on animals) Not wanting to be rude and ask her to return it, I decided to try it. Wow. My lashes looked so dark, defined, thick, long and really complimented my smokey eye look. Possibly the best mascara i've ever tried.
However, I will not be repurchasing this for the simple fact that the company needs to brush up on their ethics.

I absolutely adore this mascara!!!! I was constantly looking for mascara that would volume my eyelashes. Not only did it give me huge volume but it gave me length also. The application is thick and glides on smoothly. It does not clump or flake, I can leave it on all day and it will look the same as if I just put it on. I recommend two coats for plump volume lashes. I will definitely buy again!

I really like this mascara ! I have pretty long lashes and this makes them longer and fuller, it lasts pretty long and doesn't clump my lashes ! And its sooo black. I would repurchase

I have a love/hate relationship with this mascara. At first, I thought it was ok.. then I HATED IT!! Then I loved it, and so on. Right now, it is the mascara that I reach for the most. It makes my lashes really long and full.. so beautiful. I hated this because it is beyond goopy when you first take it out of the tube, and I'm too lazy to spend 10seconds wiping off the excess; however, once you give it time to dry a little bit, this mascara is awesome. I would recommend re-trying this after about 2-3 weeks if you are unsure about this, because when it's dry it is so much better. Might repurchase.

I really enjoy L'Oreal original Voluminous Mascara and I thought I would try the Carbon Black. I can say that I really prefer this mascara to the original. Carbon Black provides my lashes with exceptional volume and length like the original, but I love the deeper and more saturated pigmentation of colour of the Carbon Black. This too wears well all day with no smudging or flaking and washes off easily.

This is overall a good mascara. It does give the false lash effect.

Pros:
-Very black
-Very volumizing
-Cheap
-Washes off with water cleanly
-Holds a curl well

Cons:
-Can get clumpy pretty quickly
-Too wet when you first open the tube to get amazing volume
-Transfers below my eyebrow from the tips of my lashes

This is probably the best effect I can get from a drug store mascara, but it does take longer to apply than some others because of the clumping and initial wetness.

One thing that really stinks about this mascara is that after a month, the bristles on the brush become deformed and droop down, making it impossible to apply the product.

I love this mascara and it's equally as great as the other Voluminous mascara's by Loreal. I have been using this mascara, and only this mascara for at least 5 years. I have tried other mascaras, including Urban Decay and Lancome, and they do not come close to this mascara.

I adore this mascara have been using for a quite a time. It blackens, thickens, voluminousness. I agree it can get clumpy but it does give a false lash look, so I think I can live with the c lumpiness it can sometimes make. Ive notice its getting pricy, but will continue to purchase it.

I expected this to be a great mascara hearing it from some youtube guru, but instead i had a lot of problems with this mascara.

-the application brush was horrible, it gathers way too much product
-the mascara clumps like crazy
-since it clumps and the brush is horrible, it smears alot on my eyelid
-it seemed like after a month the mascara became more dry and clumpy

i tried to love it, but i don't.
