This broke me out more horribly than the original. I took it back to Nordstrom immediately.
For the record, Clinique Moisture Sheer Tint is the only TM that has ever worked for my clog prone, fair and very oily skin. Now discontinued. Great.
I purchased this product to use as my main foundation while on a month-long trip and I ended up leaving it behind at one of the hotels I stayed at. I have slightly dry skin but my t-zone gets oily, which is why I selected the oil free version. Though the sun protection aspect of the product actually did quite a good job of preventing my face from burning, I had to stop using it as it broke me out very severely around my mouth and chin, which very rarely happens. I found the product to be not as blendable as I typically hope for a tinted moisturizer, and the coverage was not what I hoped given how thick the product felt.
I always seem to come running back to this product, which honestly works more like a foundation than a tinted moisturizer. The oil free version in Sand (I'm an NC42 in MAC) is perfect for my combination skin.
I love this tinted moisterizer, I decided to get this instead of the silk creme and I am glad I made that choice. It is very creamy and kind of liquidy, hard to describe. But I love the coverage, it is heavy if I were to apply it like a normal foundation, so I use like a 3 pea sized dots on my face and blend and use a litlle bit over powder to set it and my Fix+ and it stays all day.I also like it because it doesn't get cakey.I also have 2 bottles because when I got mine my sister got some too.And pur skin are complete opposites
She is oily/ I am normal to dry
She has yellow undertones/ I have pink
She has acne/my skin is clear
She is tan/ I am pale
She bought hers in the winter so her skin was slightly lighter than in the summer , and I mix hers with another foundation to make it a little bit lighter, I have her bottle because she said she does not like this at all and makes her skin super greasy, so if you have oily skin I don't think this is for you.
I've been using Laura Mercier's oil-free TM in Porcelain for quite a while and was happy. I wandered away to try the NARSs Pure Radiant TM with PA+++ , but scooted right back to HG Laura Mercier after it made me break out. I'm fair, oily, and want a natural look from my makeup. LM handles it all extremely well. I'm back, baby, and I'm staying!
This product is pretty useless on it's own. Oily-skinned gals, beware of this product and don't let the name fool you! Makes your face become a total greaseball within an hour, gives almost zero to none coverage, and costs you a fortune. I've stopped trying to make this product work on its own and mix it in with my heavier foundations like Revlon Colorstay. Mixed with other products, the effect this gives is quite nice(slightly dewy, more natural looking), but for the $$$, it's definitely not worth it.
The price tag on this tinted moisturizer is pretty hefty ($42 in the US), but in many ways, it's worth it. This is an excellent product. I wanted to try tinted moisturizers for a long time, because I want a little coverage during the warmer months without having to worry about foundation melting off my face or breaking me out. Many of the other brands, don't have a wide variety of shades, and nothing anywhere close to my dark brown skin with yellow and red undertones. Laura Mercier definitely has the best shade range for tinted moisturizers, and I like that they have an oil free option since my skin is combination/oily.
I had to take off a lippie because this doesn't control my oil as much as I had hoped it would. Even with a finishing powder on top, oil will start breaking through around 3 hours after I've applied this. I'm used to that with nearly all face products, so I blot and go about my day. It maintains its medium coverage even as parts of the makeup come off in the blotting process. This also give surprisingly good coverage for a tinted moisturizer. It covers my dark acne scars and even lessens my dark circles. It's also buildable, and more can be layered on trouble areas without it caking up.
All in all, I'm very happy with this product, and because you get a decent amount in the tube, it's going to take me awhile to use it up, another thing that somewhat justifies the high price. I will definitely be repurchasing!
I'm fair skinned (NC20 ish, no darker) and have this in 'nude'. I was looking for light coverage to even out my skintone but not necessarily for blemish coverage, so this product does the job very well.
I like the light coverage and moisturising feel without associated breakouts or greasiness. I like the hygienic packaging and the fact that as it's a tube there will be very little waste when I get to the dregs (unlike pump bottles). The formulation is a nice, workable consistency and for me nude is the right shade.
My previous foray into TM was Benefit's You Rebel Lite and there is no comparison. You Rebel was too heavy and thick, left me feeling clammy and mask-like no matter how light handed I was with application. LM may be more a little more expensive but the results speak for themselves. I will rebuy.
I had heard about Laura Mercier before and wanted to buy it, but since I live in Australia the only place I can get it charges USD95, which is ridiculous for 100ml of tinted moisturiser.
On my recent trip to the USA I found it sells in Sephora for USD42, so with it half price I decided to give it a go.
I love this moisturiser so much! I apply about a small pea-sized amount to my entire face and it just sinks in and gives me a dewy glow. I then brush Bare Escentuals original SPF20 (I am paranoid about sunburn and wrinkles!) all over my face with my kabuki brush. It stays perfect all day and I feel like I'm wearing nothing.
I have clear, smooth skin so maybe that's why I love it so much, I am not using for the coverage, more for the sun protection and moisturising. I don't think it would be very effective for a girl who had really uneven skin tone or scars.
I use this in the summer because in the south, any time after March your make up will slide right off your face. I like how this is moisturizing, but it stays put all day (I don't typically use a primer but I do use a moisturizer). Sometimes I set this with a mineral powder on top, but not always. I like the color, it matched my skin perfectly all summer no matter how tan I got.
This is a tinted moisturizer so by design it is not meant to be full coverage. If you are looking for full coverage you will be disappointed with this product or any other TMs.
I really like this and considering how huge the tube is I think it is definitely worth the money.
I will absolutely re-purchase.
