This has to be one of the best hand creams out there. I have extremely dry hands and anything that keeps the skin supple and presentable will make me happy, but this stuff works miracles. Just a tiny amount is enough, and it works into the skin beautifully without any feeling of greasiness, despite the heavy texture as it comes out of the tube. It definitely has a slight medicinal quality - the skin on my hands can get sore it is so dry, but is so much healthier and more supple with even one application of this. It does not smell of hemp, it is fragranced with a very clean patchouli - not thank goodness a dirty "head shop" stink but a warm, woody and rather medicinal smell. If you really loathed the smell I think it would still be worth using to be honest because it is that good. I hope they never discontinue this because it is my HG hand cream and I never want to be without it.

What it Claims:
"Soften and protect hands, even after washing. Our best-selling Hemp Hand Protector is dermatologically tested for very dry skin and contains Community Trade hemp seed oil."
Claims - True or False?
1) "Soften and protect hands, even after washing.": True. It keeps my hands feeling smooth and moisturised even after many frequent hand washes.
Packaging:
I don't like the fact that it comes in a tube, because large amounts can come out if you don't replace the cap quickly enough.
Smell:
This product has a very strong herbal smell, so make sure that you can stand the smell before buying it.
Consistency:
I love the really thick consistency of this product. It will take longer to sink into your skin, but it really does stay on your hands for a long time. I recommend using this before going to sleep if you can't stand the smell of it.
Ease of Use:
Not very easy to use, because of the tube and cap.
Bang for your Buck:
I think 18.50 CAD (regular price) is a little expensive for a 100 mL tube, but if you really like this product stock up during one of TBS's 3 for 30 sale.
Final Consensus:
A very good moistuiser for your hands, but may not be an ideal product for those who cannot stand the smell of hemp. I will not be buying this product again because of the smell.
Overall Rating: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Packaging Quality: 3/5

This is by far the best hand cream I've ever had. I don't even know why I stray and try others! It's quite thick but it absorbs well, it leaves your hands instantly mousturized and soft, and keeps them like that for ages. I love the smell, it's all herbal and natural. It's a staple!
This stuff is lovely and addictive. The smell is usual but actually really nice, it's hemp so the smell is a bit sort of leafy but at the same time sweet and really appealing.
When I put it on I just have the urge to apply more and more and it doesn't leave my hands greasy it just sinks right in. So I can still handle things and they wont all go slipping out of my hands.
I'm on my 2nd tube now and my first one did run out so quickly because it's so addictive.
I really like it and I think i'll be using this for a while. The smell is so distinctive I don't know anything else that smells like this, I find the smell quite calming for some strange reason.
I think the price is a bit much though, but it is good quality.
I love this hand lotion and so does my boyfriend. It moisturizes VERY well. My boyfriend has super dry hands. His hands are so dry, it literally cracks to the point where it blisters and bleeds all year round if he doesn't lotion them up frequently. After maybe 2-3 days of usage, his blisters closed up and his hands look much more moisturized. He also loves the scent, but I don't really like the scent when I'm out in public. It smells like this herbal stomach medicine my mom use to give me as a kid whenever I get stomach aches (bo jia yeun in Cantonese). The packaging is horrible. I love how it looks, but it's not practical. The product constantly squirts out so you have to cap the product quickly, and capping the tube is a challenge itself because the lid is a screw on, so if you're not quick, the lotion can make a huge mess. But all in all, I will repurchase as well as try some other items from this line. I love The Body Shop :D

I'm using Hemp Hand Protector for a week now and I'm already developing a Love Hate affair with it. I love how it actually moisturizes my hands. They feel soft and smooth, not only when I'm using the cream, but also after I've washed my hands several times without reapplying. I sort of like the quirky look of the tube as well. As a Dutch girl, hemp doesn't exactly add to the "specialness factor' here, but the metallic tube does.
I guess the peculiar scent should be a big plus as well then, since I just mentioned how I liked the original tube and all. Unfortunately, the dominating hemp and clay fragrance is keeping me from applying this cream as much as I'd like. I just can't seem to get used to it! When I sniff my hand directly, I almost wonder what's not to like, but overall, it interferes with the subtle scents of my shampoo and perfume and others notice its scent as well. I will keep my tube around for harsh winter days though.
* Update* This stuff is actually growing on me. The fragrance seems less overwhelming. Slipping my tube into my bag before heading out into the cold winter weather has no become a daily ritual.

It's an okay hand cream. I guess I expected something more amazing. It isn't any better than my usual drugstore hand cream, which I love very much, except my usual drugstore hand cream is a lot cheaper. But it's okay, the tube is twice as big as my usual hand cream and I got it on sale, so it's not so bad. But I wouldn't get it at full price.

With twin former micropreemies and many diaper changes and hand washes all day, my hands were starting to crack and split as they had last winter. I tried Weleda Skin Food at first, and it did nothing. This has been a miracle worker - in just a few days, the split skin and painful hands are gone!
This is really effective and it doesn't take too long to soak into your skin. The smell is non consequential and I don't particularly care for the metal tube, either but I like the product.
Update: Still on the same tube as my original review, so obviously one tube lasts a really long time because I use such a small amount, I have it at my desk and use it at least once a day, however; I probably use it in the winter the most. Very effective! Love it.

This is my winter hand savior. I purchased this in tjmaxx in a set for 9.99. And I just try it on a whim. This cream is incredible. It smells a little fun when you put it on but once you rub it in the scent disappears.
This lotion soaks into your skin in no time at all which is surprising because its thick. I have literally ran out of my house put this on and drove. Thats how not greasy it is. I also put it on at night and in the morning all the tiny little lines on my hands from dryness have disappeared.
I would gladly buy this for eighteen dollars because it is worth it. Everyone in my family uses it.
