This was the only product that made any improvements in my skin as a teenager (and I tried ALL the drugstore brands back then!). I have thick, oily, difficult to exfoliate skin, so this was a Godsend, the ONLY cleanser that could clean my face without irritating it or breaking me out. However, I dončt notice an advantage of using the blemish control over the regular, they do the exact same thing in my opinion. Nowadays, I have the Clarisonic and chemical peels for exfoliating and its much gentler on my skin, but I alwas have this scrub around and use it once in a while. It just works.
Excellent product recommended by the pharmacist and love using it all over my body too. It shows instant skin improvement and softness. Minimizes large pores and removes black heads and dead/dry skin build up. I have recommended it to most of my friends and they love it, not only because of its price but of its magical wonders.
This has been my go-to facewash for over 5 years. Sometimes I find the need to change it up, but I always find myself going back to this facewash. Because of THIS facewash I have had virtually flawless skin throughout highschool and all of university. In the evening I use a little bit more than I would in the morning, only because I don't like to go to bed with any make up on, so obviously I only need a small amount in the morning to wake me up. All in all, this is a great facewash and it has done wonders for me
Update: I'm cutting out SA. Maybe I just over did it, but I think I have to go more gentle/sensitive/natural. :( This was probably the least problematic of all my SA products, but I also only used it when I needed it, here and there. Right now I can't scrub at all, I have to get my face back in order. This is still an ok product, but I'm just not sure if it's for me. Original below:
Thank you again ladies, for helping me get over a salicylic fear and making me realize it's actually what I NEED to clear my skin. My HG wash and scrub came from MUA and I love you for it!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been using St. Ives Apricot Scrub for my face and back of my upper arms for aaagggess. Well I finally got this one because of reviews and you guys are just never wrong. Thank you thank you! It's even more amazing than the original. Perfect. Love. Try on those bumps on the back of your arm if you haven't already.
This like other granular based products is horrifying and irritating to sensitive skins like mine. All I can say is ouch. I use baking soda to deal with blackheads. Also leaves an unpleasant film.
HOLY GRAIL product!
Got this for about 4 bucks at my local grocery store, decided to try it back in August and it is the ONLY product that has been able to get RID of my dark spots. I just love it! The smell brings back a lot of nostalgia to me as I used this way back when I was 14 while on vacation, so it doesn't quite bother me. I've recently decided to add it to my regimen again and I'm happy with the results. I used to wash my face with this twice a day and leave it on as a mask, now, due to the fact that I've been prescribed with other acne medications that interact with Salicylic Acid, I've reduced my usage to about 1-3 times a week, depending on how badly my skin needs the exfoliation.
I use Amazon's Subscribe & Save to get this scrub at a much better price than the in-store price (usually around $5). I also buy it in the 10 oz. "tub" version as I like to scoop out a big glob for scrubbing my face and neck in the bath and in the shower. I don't know what it is about this specific scrub, but it's just enough for me to feel "scrubbed" but not so much as to feel like road rash. I really don't like some of the other scrubs I've used that seem to just have a few beads in them now and then--like that's supposed to exfoliate!
I'm not sure if the "acne & blackhead fighting" stuff that's in there is actually doing anything for the short while that it's on my skin, but if it is, that's a plus. I usually use it once every other day or so followed by my Kiehls regimen.
I believe this has played a sizable role in my skin and making it smoother. I don't know what I would do without this for exfoliating my flakes away.
I love the smell of this, and I don't consider it to be very scratchy. I think it's a nice feeling to it, not so gritty that it will leave marks on my skin.
I've been using this for years on and off. I always go back to it. Its really cheap and does a great job.
I agree with many people that this one is too harsh for your skin. However I was using this once in two weeks and it immediately gave my skin more radiance and flawlessness. I am not sure though whether it can keep breakouts and blemishes at bay but I believe this one leaves your skin very smooth and silky. I used this one on my body as well and it left my skin in a great condition as well so I recommend to keep this in your shower as well.
