I'm not sure why the ratings are so low for this product. I have acne prone combo skin so the ddml was bad news but I really like this product. This formula has more ingredients that are better for your skin compared to ddml's dated 1960s formula but could still use more antioxidents etc. and an opaque bottle to protect it from sunlight. I have tried a lot of moisturizers and I struggle to find ones that are light enough. My skin isn't as oily as it was when this product first launched and I initially purchased it, but I still don't like the feeling of heavy lotions on my face. Nothing out there is quite as light and has good for your skin ingredients. I have come across other similar products but upon examining the label they will have alcohol or other ingredients I don't want on my face. I'm not sure why, but it seems a lot of products for acne/oily/combo skin have alcohol and that is just going to irritate the acne and dry out your skin. Not only will your skin then produce more oil and compensate, but the irritation can stimulate the nerve endings in your skin which can also cause it to product more alcohol. (I know, it sounds far fetched but I swear I'm not making it up!!!) I will say though that most of the time I don't have dry patches so if your skin is really dry, this probably won't do it but ten again it isn't designed for that skin type anyway.
The bottom line is that I can't find anything as light that absorbs into my skin. I think if you're looking for anything more than a light very moisturizer, this product is not for you.
I brought this product along with the step 3 toner because its supposed to be created for oily skin but it didn't work out for me. Minutes after apply the gel my skin will look oily. It doesnt have spf which sucks.

Before this I was using the DDML, cause my skin was super dry due to the eczema i have. But recently after getting acne from HadaLabo Arbutin products, my skin has gone bonkers and it's dry but oily (dehydrated). So I've switched my cleanser from extra mild to mild, and DDML to DDMG. So far, I'm loving it. using it for about a week plus now and Clinique's moisturizers are the only ones that could moisturize my skin without making me greasy at the end of the day or when i wake up in the morning. So far no new breakouts after using this. The only thing is that it's much more expensive here in Malaysia compared to the US. It retails here for RM170 for 125ml. That's almost $60. It's insane...
Overall, this is my go-to moisturizer for my ridiculously oily skin. After washing my face, and applying toner, I use one pump all over--including my neck--and enjoy the oil-free formula as it glides over my face, and doubles as a make-up primer. Surprisingly, it has not broken me out at all, and due to its' gel consistency, it does not contribute to any EXTRA oil production; that's always nice. I have to say, I have searched high and low for a decent moisturizer, and this is the one I plan on sticking with for a very long time--because admit it, trying new products is scary; you face the possibility of breaking out, having an allergic reaction, or just not being pleased with the results. Go in to a rep, test it out, and see what happens: it doesn't hurt to try!

I used to use this product a while ago and I loved it and recently I purchased it again and then I realized why I hadn't gotten it in a while was because it makes me break out! I eat pretty healthy so I know it's not that but I have been using it everyday and it makes me break out. It moisturizes my face well but I don't like these pimples :(

I've bought so many bottles of this.
IT'S STILL THE BEST!!!
At least try it if you haven't before.
It's awesome!
Hands down, best moisturizer ever. Makes my skin soft, not oily. My number one go-to product.

This is the best moisturizer i have ever used! It hydrates your skin and doesn't leave it slimy or sticky. And it lasts very long! It also feels so good on your face. The only thing I don't like about it, is the price. I started using this when my sister bought this, and since I heard great reviews on this product, i decided to check it out. The reason why I wont be repurchasing this product, is because it is quite expensive and I will be trying to look for a cheaper alternative. If I don't find anything as good as this, or better, I will stick to clinique and will repurchase. It is worth the 16 bucks but in the meantime, i will just be looking for a cheaper alternative. Goodjob clinique! :)

I desperately needed a hydrating product to apply to my skin after using the three-step acne system. The Clinique SA recommended this to me and she was not kidding. This is a serious moisturizer.
My fiance and I both use it. He has normal skin and can use it year-round. I, on the other hand, have more tricky skin and can get away with during the warmer months. During the winter, I use THREE moisturizers as this is not nearly hydrating enough. But I still love it as it is lightweight and balances out my skin's texture.
_____________
Pros:
- hydrating
Cons:
- price! it's just a moisturizer after all
- no protection from the weathers/SPF
I just don't understand the hype around this moisturiser. It is just a very average product. It doesn't even get absorbed into the skin, when I wash my face, I can feel it. However one thing I don't understand is why this makes my skin darker. I used this for over 2 months and it darkened my skin though I wore sunscreen over it. And not just me, this happened with my mom and sister-in-law as well. The DDML also had the same effect. I don't know why this happened but I'm surely not buying this or DDML again. There's no return policy here so I'm just going to throw away what I have left.
