I bought this product because of its claim in improving the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. I have a stretch mark that goes along the entire length of my thigh and its been there ever since I could remember. I tried using Bio oil for a few months to no avail. It reduces nothing, doesn't fade the stretch marks even a tiny bit. I knew the claim was too good to be true.
And then I had chicken pox, and boy I was glad that I still have some of this stuff left in my drawer. For those of you who had chicken pox, you know how it could leave such bad and humungous scarring on your face and whole body. This oil is a miracle when used on fresh scars and mine disappeared completely after using it faithfully twice a day for a week or so.
So if you are looking to heal recent scars and stretch marks then I really recommend that you try using this, but if you want to heal things that's been on your skin for ages then I suggest that you look elsewhere.

I used this for my acne scars, it worked well for me because my scars we newly formed, for certain old scars I had they didn't fade at all. I use this after washing my face every night before I studied and if it dried up a little I reapplied some more because I found that having a later of it on my skin for long periods of time seemed to work faster on the fading of scars.
Pros:
- Does fade scars BUT it has to be recent scarring
- Smells nice
- Moisturing
Cons:
- Not a very natural alternative
- Expensive
- Doesn't fade old scars
I do use this sometimes in winter for dry skin it does work well for that and scarring
I use these on my stretch marks on my upper thighs and buttocks that I have had since hitting puberty. Does it fade stretchmarks? For me, not really. I used this everyday immediately after showering for about half a year. But did not notice much improvement. I gave 2 lippies for the fact that it was very moisturizing though, and made my skin feel super soft once absorbed. But it didn't really do what it claimed.

Who makes this product? And why does the packaging look like it's been designed by an 8 year old? Whatever - no one can deny it's a cult product and the bad packaging actually helps us feel it comes from an authentic miracle source rather than a multinational conglomerate.
I bought this product to get rid of dark marks. Naturally, the dark marks that affect you the most are the ones that are on the face and are caused by acne. Ironically, products that help dark marks can also cause acne leading to a horrific cycle. This is also true with Bio-oil. Do NOT use on your face if you have any acne problems whatsoever. I tried it on my spotty back with bad results as well. Now I just use it on old scars on my body caused by cuts, bruises, psoriasis and the shingles and I feel like it has helped slightly after a couple of weeks use. I am going to finish the entire bottle and then pass final judgment.
This absorbs easily, but does leave a slightly oily feel. However, that goes away with time. I don't know why anyone would buy this just to moisturise as there are a million effective moisturising products out there for less.

I have been using this for awhile and no..it hasnt stopped stretchmarks..but my skin does feel a lot softer and smoother, and i especially love the smell, it makes a good moisturiser..but not the best moisturiser, I'm 17 and i have stretchmarks..in a lot of places knees, thighs and i have been using this for like 1 year..the only difference it made was soften my skin..but why am i still getting stretchmarks, it says it improves the appearance but only moisture wise..how sad :(
I have been using this for a couple weeks for a variety of problems. Mainly I wanted to even out the skin tone on my face, neck and chest. After just one week of using this on my face in conjunction with my moisturizer, I have noticed a huge difference in my skin tone. I went without makeup one whole Saturday and I never do that! Also crows feet are diminished. No clogged pores or breakouts but I don't have very sensitive or acne prone skin. Now I am trying it on my heels, the backs of my hands and my arms, which are freckled from sun damage. LOVE it!

I had so many stretch marks after my first child so i tried this product. I'm still into a few weeks of using it but I noticed my stretch marks got lighter. That's just it though. It doesn't really do any wonders but I'm still willing to use it more since it's the only product I noticed that made a change even if it was subtle.

I have used Therapy Massage Bar and Peace Massage Bar by Lush along with heavily priced unrefined organic shea butters/creams, pure Vitamin E oil w/ high IU, and even Palmer's cocoa butter. Of all these stretch mark reducing products, Bio Oil is my go to product. Unrefined creams and massage bars are a hassle to use. You have to warm the product up to melt them and then aggressively rub it into your skin for it to absorb with extremely oily residue- where as Bio Oil is easily just rubbed on and absorbed. All though it doesn't fully absorb and there is a tad bit of oily residue- it's by far the most effective. It faded my stretch marks by ~60% within 3-4 weeks. It faded them quicker than all the other products as well.
Definitely a staple in reducing the appearance of stretch marks and leaving my skin supple and smooth.
Consistency is the key for results.
I finally get to review this! I bought bio oil 3 years ago off a recommendation from a worker at Rexall for my stretch marks (my scars fade in no time) and absolutely love it! It is my go to product for stretch marks or any other skin discolourations. When I first started using this product (twice a day) I really was not noticing any difference after a month and I started to give up on it. One day about a week later though, I looked in the mirror and my stretch marks had totally disappeared! And so I have been using this technique since.....use for a month straight and then stop for a bit and since doing that I have always noticed a difference. If you would like to try out this product I would recommend purchasing the smallest size because a little goes a very, very, remarkably long way and if you don't end up liking it, its less money gone. I however love it and recommend it to everyone everywhere!
**One thing I might add is that it is impossible to completely reverse stretch marks. What products like this do is take away the red/purple/blue tones that stretch marks have.**

Bio Oil is sold as a scar/stretchmark remover and as I've only had it for about two weeks I haven't yet noticed any real results with those kinds of issues so I can't strictly say if it works or not in that regard. However as I have dry skin it is certainly a product that I think I'll be buying again as it removes all of my dry patches without leaving my face oily or in any way slippery. As well as diminishing some of the redness on my cheeks, that are particularly sensative. Also, I've found that it hasn't caused me to break out with pimples, but perhaps that has more to do with not having pimple-prone skin. For people with pimple-prone skin I still recommend it because I think that it has a light enough consistency to not clog your pores, and also because it may help with reducing redness, scaring and the pimples themselves. On a whole I would recommend this product, as it was recommended to me, as a face moisturiser. Thought you can of course use it as a body moisturiser too. I would say it is a product more for the winter months because you may not need the amount of moisturisation it provides for summer. The packaging by way of applying it is really handy because you can just drip it onto you hand and pat it on.
