I've been using this treatment since high school, and honestly I can't really tell you why. I find it rather ineffective, and the wild claim that 100% of test subjects showed clearer skin turns me off a little. Nothing is ever 100%, it's a statistically inaccurate and shows that C&C is pretty dishonest in their trial runs, maybe a double blind study would've been more accurate and helpful- but that isn't the point, the point is that products with wildly inaccurate and impossible claims like "this product will make your passed gas smell like wildflowers" or "In one day, 5 billion percent of people lost 10 lbs when using this product". Lying with supposed statistics to me is like slapping a banner on your product that says "Made for Stupid People" or "Defective, DO not BUY".

This product "works" by drying out the skin on the affected area, leaving an unpleasant crust where the pimple once (and probably still) is. Eventually, it will dry it into disappearance. But certainly not in one day and not on its own.

Now you probably wonder why my review is negative but I have been using this since high school? The tube has literally lasted me 5 years. Time to review and throw it out. Will not repurchase. continued >>

Before i purchased this product i read reviews and so far based on these reviews it summarized that this product really worked. Since i have breakout due to my mac studio fix foundation i decided to try it after trying so many things. I was even preparing my self for that sting everyone was talking about. First of all it only stung for a 1sec. And it did not diminish the size of the pimples overnight. All it does is just sit there on your skin. So im so disappointed in this product since a lot of clean and clear products are amazing.

Hm, when I bought this I had the impression it was going to be a miracle product. I think it does help get rid of occasional spots, but no faster than naturally. It stings a bit if the pimple is open, so I think that means it is working. It covers the pimple in a clean, shiny substance, making it easy to apply makeup over top. I do warn you though; due to the level of salicylic acid (2%) this treatment is EXTREMELY drying, which will lead to ich, which will lead to spreading bacteria. When I bought the little tube it was only half full, and I bought it for about 10 dollars. I don't recommend this product.

i bought this thinking it was going to be a miricle product, if your acne has not been poped or isnt opened at the surface, this WILL NOT WORK. it only works when your acne is opened. it drys out your skin VERY much. dont use too much of it.

My review will sort of compare it to C&C's Persa-gel. I have been using this for a month now. Ran out of Persa-Gel 5 and my drugstore only had this product in stock. The major difference between this and Persa-Gel is that it has 2% salicylic acid instead of benzoyl peroxide. This product claims that you will see visible results 4 hours and won't over dry skin. I have very dry skin and I agree that this did not dry my skin out as much as Persa-gel, however the results were not that great. I did not exactly see results as quickly as the claim, but after using it daily I did notice spots slowly going away. I agree with others that this works on smaller pimples and not large ones. I give this a 3 as it does not work as quickly as it claims or as fast as persagel. On the upside, it isnt drying and doesn't leave a dry residue on your face like other acne products. I personally won't repurchase this and go back to persa-gel. It works faster and better on larger pimple and I found that moisturizing helped with the dryness. continued >>

Ok let me just start out by saying i'm doing two reviews for this product one for oily skin and one for dry skin. (regardless i think this should be used at night because i dont think this will be good if your wearing makeup over it)

DRY SKIN REVIEW: I personally have dry, acne prone skin. And when i applied this at night i noticed it didnt sting which was good. But when i woke up in the morning i noticed that the whole spot around where i put this treatment was dry and flakey. Thus, it made it impossible to put makeup over it. It did make the spot a little less red but not enough to want to buy it. I personally would not purchase this again. (and this does not work well on cystic or large acne spots, it is better on small ones)

OILY SKIN REVIEW: My mom has very oily skin and gets a few adult spots each week or so. Let me just say she is in love with this product. She uses it on her spot and the next day its almost completely gone, and in two treatments the spot has vanished. This does not make her skin dry. And she uses it on all sizes of acne and it works.

Overall i would say this works really well on adult acne or on people who have oily skin. So if you do i would give it a try. If you have combination skin this will mostly likely work for you. But if you have dry skin like me, i wouldn't purchase it because it will dry out your skin.

Does not dry out my spots well and leaves a shiny/oily coating on anywhere its applied which I hate because it makes the already red spot look even nastier.

This product is amazing. The is the 1 thing that started healing my face. I've suffered with adult acne for about 3 months and nothing has really helped. I found this in my cupboard and started using it day and night. It completely cleared up my t-zone area and my chin. I have found that I cannot use anything with bezoyl peroxide. It leaves my skin looking like I have a chemical burn and it's very drying. I do not have this problem with this product since it's 2% salicylic acid. The product is easy to get out since the packaging is a tube and you can get every last bit. The smell is a little like rubbing alcohol but it dries quickly and does not dry out my skin. It's a clear gel and dries invisible. I find that this does sting on open blemishes but that subsides quickly. I also found out that when I use this at night I wake up with a pretty oily forehead, which is fine since I jump in the shower right away. I am on my 2nd tube of this and will continue to repurchase.

I almost never re-buy products. Ever. But this, I did. Three times.

I started using it because benzoyl peroxide in most acne products makes my face a red, inflamed mess and it's painful and I don't enjoy it. So I picked this up and I do really like it. It's oil-free with a 2% salicylic acid mixture.

What I like:
It smells great. It doesn't smell medicinal. It smells kinda fruity and a little bit rubbing alcohol-y, which I don't mind. It dries quickly and it doesn't burn at all, it stings on pimples you have just popped, but it goes away.
It goes on very easily. The stuff is a thick gel that goes on clear. It's quite effective, but you have to use it for a prolonged time for it to clear up blemishes, and you have to keep using it for them to completely disappear.
On me, I use it mostly on my upper t-zone area, where my pimples usually come from clogged pores. It works pretty well, but it's not an overnight miracle treatment.

What I don't like:
It makes your skin look really shiny, even after it dries, which under any makeup makes you look like an oil slick. The shininess doesn't go away with ANY amount of powder you put on, so I suggest only putting on before bed or when you know you aren't going to be wearing makeup.
It can also be really sticky right after you put it on and while it is drying completely. I usually put it on before bed, after I cleanse my face and so forth. When I put my face down on the pillowcase, my face where I put the product on sticks to the pillowcase's fabric.

But overall, a good product.

I have been an acne sufferer for years and go to a dermatolgist still as an adult. The derm and I talk skincare and she endorses what works for your skin only...and noncomedegenic products. I bought this kit....it only has two great things in it out of the 3. The spot treatment ane the moisturizer. The cleanser reminds me of adding mineral oil to your face and leaving it there even after you rinse a biilion times and attempt to wipe away with a soft cloth! Do not use this if you have oil slick type of skin. It's normal for skin to transition for about 4 weeks with new products..but this irritated added oil and caused me to break out horribly. I looked on the package and there are definite things in the wash that will clog pores. Everything else in the kit is wonderful! If you choose to buy a kit spend a few dollars more for the Neutrogena 3 step kit...it is great for sensitive acne proned skin. It works great with my scriptmeds too.
