I always feel a bit sheepish that Champs Elysees is one of my favorite Guerlains. Reviled by Luca Turin, cited as an example of Guerlain's decline by many, this has little of the cachet of the legendary Guerlain masterpieces such as Mitsouko or L'heure bleu and yet ...it smells absolutely beautiful on me. I can't help it. Enchanting, delightful, effervescent -- a bubbly confection of mimosa and almond that is incorrigably flirtatious and ultra-feminine in a "young career girl moves to Paris in a mid-60's movie and falls in love with royalty in disguise" kind of way. It makes me want to pull on white gloves and a saucy chapeau and match my shoes to my purse, but it does all of this with enough subtlety to match my actual life. ( I have it in parfum form, which may be more subtle than the edt, in a way.) This is definitely sweet - for me that's a good thing, because my skin tends to take sweetness down a couple of notches. Sometimes you just feel like being a pretty, pretty princess and this scent is perfect for that.

This is a light but creamy floral, very sweet on my skin (but I admit it could be too sweet on other's). I wore so often that it's the perfume most people associate me with, but I'm now into deeper perfumes. Still, a wonderful floral.

I was looking forward to trying this light, feminine, sparkling fragrance – and what a pretty and evocative name! I tried the EDT version, and although it started out promising, the almonds became stale and musty while the mimosa became sharp, ozonic, and cloyingly sweet. Oh well, on to other mimosa fragrances for me…

Guerlain fragrances are so evocative, and this one's no exception. I applied it and immediately thought "shopping mall." When I'm there, I always end up walking behind someone wearing this. It gets a little soapier and less sharp as it progresses. Good lasting power, but that just makes me feel like I got locked in the mall after closing and end up spending the night. If you want a great Guerlain floral, get Jardins de Bagatelle instead, no matter what Luca Turin says.

This is one of my favorite florals. It is very soft-- not at all heady or cloying. The EDT lasts for quite some time on me. A true mimosa and a classic fragrance.

I love roses and I love the smell of roses, so I'm naturally drawn to rose fragrances. However, I still have not found a rose fragrance I can wear without feeling sick afterward. & Champs is one of them. It smelt very nice on 1st spray, a sparkling rose with a hint of peach (to me), and I thought it smelt like a lighter, more easily used version of Nahema (I live in a hot country), so I bought it. The problem is, after a while the mimosa note started bothering me... I didn't know it was the mimosa at 1st, but I smelt another fragrance with mimosa and it gave me the same feeling, so now I know. I gave it to my mum and hope she doesn't use it too much around me. Somehow mimosa notes make me feel sick. Urgh!

The parfum bottle is to die for though... I bought the EDP and the bottle doesn't even come close.
Edit: This fragrance is very lasting in EDP, which is good if you like the fragrance.

A co-worker wears this sometimes and I finally asked her what it was, then immediately set up a swap for it! This scent says Spring to me. It's sweet like a Spring breeze through flowering trees. Somewhat soapy, very clean and just a hint of vanilla or almond (can't quite tell)...something that takes the flowery edge off it a bit. Dries down absolutely gorgeous, and lasts and lasts. I spray this into the air and walk through it as it can go on strong. Lots of compliments on this one! Love.

Lovely fragrance, slightly soapy, gentle, feminine, classy. It has very good staying power. However, I don't like the beginning, it's too sharp, with too much mimosa but the drydown is heavenly. I didn't get any compliments on it but I still like it.
