For what it is, I think this cleanser is overpriced. It's very nice and gentle, but Burt's Bees makes a cleanser very similar that actually foams a little better. It's worth a try, but I wouldn't repurchase this cleanser because it's a little underwhelming.
This is by far the best face wash I have ever used. I've got combination skin that clogs pretty easily and this wash works wonders. Does not dry your skin and after use with my Clarisonic it does not make your skin tight. I use it every evening just after removing my make up with MAC clean off oil.
Bit on the pricey side but well worth the money.

I recently purchased the Philosophy "Purity Made Simple" face cleanser at my local Sephora. The price was not too bad and from what I have heard from some other people, it lasts you a long time. I was using the Clinique Acne Solutions but it seemed like my skin was not agreeing with some chemical in the skincare line which was making my face dry and my breakouts were worse than ever. I do not have acne prone skin but I do have combination so I have to be careful about what I use on my face. I love this stuff. It smells great, it does everything it says it will do and it leaves my skin feeling very clean and glowing after I use it. I will be re-purchasing this whenever I am done. I hope to try the "Hope In A Jar" moisturizer next :)

eed to I have repurchased this like 5 times! I learned that any new product you use on your face, you need to give it 4 to 6 weeks to work! So I did that with this product, and after initial break out a tiny bit on my chin, it really balanced out my skin, and keeps it in great shape!! it is light, but gets my makeup (even waterproof) off my face, and makes me feel clean, without that tight skin feeling i get from a lot of drugstore cleansers (esp clean and clear and aveeno). I almost never break out anymore, and my skin is in great shape, and i think its thanks to this! even after i changed moisturizers, it helped my skin get through that change!!
This definitely isn't a product that agrees with my skin. Since I started using it, I've had terrible acne around my chin and mouth area, which has never been a problem for me in the past. It doesn't do a very good job at removing all of my makeup and I don't wear it very heavily. I'm not a fan of the fragrance either, but that's just personal preference. Overall, I'm quite disappointed after reading so many favourable reviews and I would definitely not purchase it again or recommend it to others with a similar skin type to my own.
In general, I'm not a fan of Philosophy products but I really like this cleanser. It has a light herbally scent and a milky, creamy consistency that leaves my skin feeling clean but not squeaky clean or tight. It has a hard time taking off waterproof mascara though, especially if you use a eyelash primer (I use Shiseido primer with L'oreal WP false fiber lashes mascara and I had to follow up with DHC oil cleanser to remove the rest of my mascara from my lashes). Unfortunately this contains parabens so it doesn't achieve HG status in my book - that spot still belongs to Boscia's Purifying Gel Cleanser. But for those who don't care about parabens, this is a nice cleanser, just don't count on it to remove all of your mascara.
When I first started using this product, I believe it did cause me to breakout heavily. However, after continuing to use it, my breakouts have lessened considerably. I really like that this cleanser removes all of my makeup easily and leaves my face feeling clean but not overly dry.
Eh, this was good, but it's not great. It'll do what you expect it to do: it cleans... but you won't get amazing results with it. I would suggest using makeup remover or Vaseline if you have heavy eye makeup on because it won't get everything off. I found this cleanser to be a little bit drying, but most cleansers are, I suppose.
Broke me out originally when I used it and over-time my skin got used to it...ish. Still some concerns but nothing huge at this rate. Bought a small bottle (ridiculous price) at Sephora but never finished it. Didn't quite like the product.
For the make-up cleaning aspect of it, my eye make-up was cleaned not too bad. Waterproof mascara cleaning, no but still not bad. Not totally worth the hype for me.
I got this as a Sephora perk and I love it. I never have spent too much money on cleansers, sticking with whatever I could find in CVS, Duane Read, whatever.
As I am aging I am noticing some of my skin is red, wrinkles are coming ahhhhhh - but mostly anything I wash with leaves my skin feeling so dry. It can't be quenched.
This is 20 bucks for a small bottle and 40 bucks for a large size, sorry I don't have the amounts.
I think it is absoluetely worth it!! It does have some skin conditioning elements in it, and my skin does not feel sucked dry after I wash my face.
