This is my favorite bronzer. It looks dark in the pan but it comes on light on your skin. It's very buildable yet doesn't make you look cakey. I have naturally tan skin and it shows up on my skin very well. I have also used this on a friend of mine who has ivory skin and it looked amazing on her! I actually use this on my neck and chest as well and the color it gives me is wonderful. This stuff is great!

I chose my user name after this bronzer, that should be enough said... I love this stuff. Doesn't break me out, makes me look tan and not orange, and has enough shimmer to it that it gives a nice glow but doesn't look sparkly. I miss the days when I worked at EL and got this stuff for free, bc it is pretty expensive!

I got this in "Soft Shimmer Bronzer" as part of a Bronze Goddess Palette. I was really looking forward to this to use it as a body hilighter/bronzer and ended up dissapointed.
(-) First, do NOT buy this in a palette, it powders off too much when using a brush over it and the color/powder will contaminate anything else in the palette
(+) the color is a pretty bronze. a brown with a hint of orange and gold.
(-) the formula made my (NC42) skin look like it had small black heads where ever I used it (which was only on my body). I could even (warning: this is gross) squeeze the product out of my pores. It was disgusting.
For that reason, I will never re-purchase. In summers to come, I will still be on a search for another body bronzer. I took out the eyeshadows that came with the compact/palette and threw the bronzer away. I REAL dissapointment.
If this doesnt clog yoru pores, the color is good & I would use it. continued >>

I'M REVIEWING THE SOFT MATTE BRONZER! * * Alright, I really like this bronzer. It is a brown with a mauve undertone and a slight, slight shimmer. So, it's not completely matte, but the shimmer didn't show up on my skin at all. I find that its really good for a contour. It darkens my face in a very natural way. You only need the littlest bit. I've tried other matte bronzers such as MAC Blunt powder blush, and it has a mauvey-purple undertone and it didn't work for me at all.. no matter how little I applied it still made me look muddy and bruised. This never makes me look that way. I wish the color was slightly more golden, but it's fine. A definite must in my bronzer collection :) UPDATE: I LOVE THIS AS A CONTOUR FOR MY CHEEK BONES!

I honestly do not see what the hype here is for this bronzer. I've tried it and it made my face look dirty. I'd rather use my Stila bronzer number 2. It makes me look as if I had a vacation. And being a redhead, I can use it under my cheekbones, then put a nuetral pink blush on the apples and it all blends together so nicely.

This is a review for the EL bronze goddess soft matte bronzer in no. 01. First of all, let me just say this bronzer look very orangey on my medium skin tone. It is not matte. It has got shimmers on the pan but when you applied that on, the shimmer doesn’t really show up. But still, it doesn’t give me that matte look either. The staying power of this bronzer is great though. I don’t know what’s in this product that is breaking me out. It looks muddy and dirty on me. It makes me look very unnatural and weird. Overall, I don’t like this bronzer and definitely wouldn’t repurchase.

*This review is for the Soft Matte Bronzing Powder* I guess the name of 'soft matte' means that it's not completely matte, if you see closely you will notice very fine shimmer in it, but it doesn't transfer to your skin once applied. So that's good. Unfortunately it didn't work for me, I'm a redhead w/ fair skin and brown eyes. I think the color turned out to be way too cool on me, giving me a dirty/muddy look :( But the worst part is that it accentuates my freckles! It makes them even darker! WTH! Never had a problem like this with any bronzer before! Not at all! That's why I'm giving this a low rating. I really wanted to like it, I tried different brushes and techniques, but nothing worked. Still the dirty/dark freckles look. Thumbs down.

This was the first bronzer I bought. I absolutely LOVE this bronzer. It does not go on muddy and although it has a subtle shimmer, it is not overtly glittery. I apply this bronzer with a large powder brush for all over color, and an angled brush to contour. The price for this product is a bit steep, but it has lasted me for quite a while and I still have some left.

I own the soft shimmer one and I think it's the worst bronzer I have ever had.The good thinks that this product has are:It's oil free and I think it's the biggest bronzing powder I have ever seen excuse me if I m wrong but I believe this contains 20 or 21 gr powder and this is enough for a "lifetime" :):).My main problem with this bronzer is the pigmentation and the glitters. The pigmentation for me is very low.The winter I m nc 25-30 and the summer nc 35-40.I mostly use bronzers to contour my face I never use them as an all over powder and this one is too light to contour any part of my face, especially during the summer this powder is almost the same color as the rest of my skin and this is quite a surprise for me because in the package appears dark enough. My friend has the same bronzing powder but the matte shade and she is also having pigmentation issues.Another think that I dislike is the fact that this is not shimmery at all,as the name says,is matte but has glitters in it and they brush away immediately. For sure this is not something that I ll repurchase again
