As much as I didn't want to believe it... this stuff made me break out pretty badly. My skin has never been this bad. As much as I didn't want to believe it... this foundation was the culprit. I got pimples places I didn't even think was possible.
Anyway, regardless of the breakout, this foundation has other things that are definatly not going for it. First thing... this stuff oxidizes pretty bad on me. It does stop oil, but in the process it clogs my pores pretty bad. The coverage is pretty light, and I feel like if I tried to build coverage it'd get really dark and oxidize more and get cakey. Also... the colors are not the same throughout the line. The pressed powder I got to match the foundation was in natural.... so I got the foundation in natural... good idea right? WRONG... this stuff was too dark.
But I gave it a few stars because it has a nice finish to it, the price is alright, and it does do what it says, controls oil. I've really liked covergirl but this stuff was a miss for me.

I am in love with this! I was kind of worried whether or not it would work because I always read reviews on products and it'll say OH THIS PRODUCT IS TERRIBLE! Maybe I should stop reading reviews because this definitely helps my oily skin. Towards the end of the day, my face STILL looks good. This is my first time using a liquid foundation so I am very impressed! My skin normally doesn't take Covergirl so that's definitely telling you something!

I tried this product on a wim. I have combination skin and my skin is typically very sensitive to products I put on my face. So I figured the foundation wouldn't do me any help just like the rest of them. However, I was pleasantly surprised.
The foundation is light to medium coverage (however it is easily buildable) and having minimal acne, it covered it quite well. It did control the oil in my t-zone and I had no reason to touch up with powder because it stayed in place for as long as I needed. However, I would get a slight glow by the end of the day so I'm not sure how well this would work on very oily skin types. I found it was easier to apply this foundation with my dense flat top brush since it buffed the foundation in well and gave me plenty of coverage. It also concealed my large pores on my nose and cheeks & didn't sink into them like most foundations do for me. But what I loved most about it was is it didn't break me out like all the other foundations I have tried in the past (and trust me, I've tried plenty)! It actually kept most of my acne at bay and it didn't irritate my sensitive skin what-so-ever.
However, the foundation does have it's cons but they are cons that can easily be put aside for me. The foundation does not contain a pump so you constantly have to pour it out on your hand and while it usually is no hassle for me, I found that the product was slightly too thick to glide out of the bottle and what's even more of a hassle is when you get down to your last droplets, you can't get them out without keeping the foundation upside down, which results in a large amount of it gathering up in the cap. So a pump added to this foundation would be much more convenient and sanitary. Also, they have a poor color selection. I was unable to find a perfect match for me because they do not have any yellow undertones in their selection, which is the case with most foundations but I found it much more irritating since I actually rather enjoyed this foundation. I had actually ended up getting the shade Medium Light, however, it was much too pink and much too dark on my skintone making me look uneven and icky.
All-in-all, I would recommend this foundation to sensitive skin, combination skin, and acne-prone skin as well ~ but it would probably be better suited for those who have pink undertones who won't have a problem finding their shade.
PROS:
~Controls oil
~Buildable coverage
~Suitable for sensitive skin
~Stays put w/o primer
~Doesn't irritate acne
~Doesn't sink into pores or accentuate them
CONS:
~Small color selection
~No yellow undertones
~You have to pour the foundation out (no pump) continued >>

Blehhhh. This stuff is frickin nasty! I have pretty gross skin: acne, oily, freckly, red..dy. Yeah, obviously not perfect! I applied this to one side of my face... not sure why... and it looked like I frickin painted my face! It highlighted every pore, and it looks cakey as hell! How it made my skin look is just... indescribable. I'll probably post a picture :) Good luck, ladies! Please don't buy this! Save your money ;)
I really like this foundation. Yes, it does have light coverage, but if you already have great skin, why completely cover it up? This does not break me out and has reduced the oil on my face yet doesn't dry me out, so I really like it. I tried the color match program on the cover girl website, and it matched my clinique shade to cover girl's brand, and I must say it was spot-on! The price is excellent and the packaging could be improved (not a glass bottle would be a good start), but nothing is perfect. For what this is designed to do, I really like it and will continue to purchase.
I have used this product for many years..not because i wanted too but because thats all my mom would buy me. Now that im older and have moved out i will never buy this foundation again. Very Very light coverage, its very liquidy. Over all just not a good foundation.
I liked this before they changed the bottle, I swear they changed the formula as well. When it was before I think it did fair, definitely didn't make my face shiny since mine is super oily. Now it's so freaking sheer it's not even funny and I can't build on it either. Also dries out my face and makes it flaky. Yeah, no more danggit!
I have combination skin, im VERY oily on my t-zone. and whn i picked this product up THINKING tht it was going 2 help my oil. IT DIDNT!
-it broke me out big time
-it doesnt help with oil
-it sets in2 fine lines
I was VERY upset with this product, and my advice is 2 not buy this product. complete waste of time. =(
This broke me out BIG TIME. As in, multiple deep cystic zits all over my face. At first I thought the breakout was coincidental, but I stopped using the makeup, and my skin cleared back up. I experimented again a month or so later, and YUP...same deal. It was definitely caused by the makeup. Horrible!
Breakouts aside, I found this product to be okay - not excellent, but okay. If it hadn't broken me out, I wouldn't have tossed it, but I likely wouldn't have repurchased either unless I just couldn't find anything else at all. The makeup applies well enough, doesn't look cakey, and gives okay coverage. Nothing special on any fronts, but not bad either. Doesn't seem to do anything to worsen or stop oil, but even if your skin gets oily, this makeup doesn't melt off as quickly as some do....which is at least one thing in its favor.
Basically, this is average makeup that seems to be giving an above average amount of breakout-related hell to its customers. You may or may not have an adverse reaction, but IMHO it's not worth the risk for a mediocre product.
