By itself, I only would give this mascara a 3. I have longer lashes but need more volume (and no, I was not expecting this to volumize at all) so the separation factor is nice. However, I find the formula too dry to use by itself.
BUT I found that if I use a volumizing mascara beforehand (Voluminous, etc.) and then use the Clump Crusher afterwards.. whoa nelly. Then it becomes a 5. Whole different story. Previously I used an old clean mascara spoolie to separate my lashes but the CC works much better. And it layers just a touch more mascara on my lashes making the combination beautiful. Is it too much effort? Nah, not in my opinion.. but then again, I've always enjoyed using two different mascaras for a layered effect. So, for me this is perfect. (I used to use L'Oreal telescopic as my "separator" but it deposits more mascara than I wanted and can create those dreaded spider eyes if I was not careful)
I purchased the very black regular version but next time I would rather go for the water resistant. I cannot use the regular version on my lower lashes (smudges a bit) but I hope the WR version would not do that and can hold up to random tears.
Overall I love it! I will repurchase when I run out. :)
I just finished writing a review for Maybelline Rocket Volume mascara and was surprised to see that that one didn't have better reviews...meanwhile, I'm equally surprised at the good reviews for this one! People seemed to love this, so when I ran out of my Rocket Volume mascara, I purchased this one instead. First of all, I got the blackest color available...and it's not a deep, inky black like the RV, so that was the first strike against it (I really love an inky black formula...RV has that, as does L'Oreal Carbon Black). This also doesn't give great volume. Yes, it does separate, it's not clumpy, it gives decent length and it's easy to remove, but I'm really not looking for a "natural" look when I apply mascara. I like drama. So, while this was decent, it wasn't anything to write home about and I would not repurchase.
I really loved that it could look natural and the wand was quite nice. However after using my former mascara (full n soft by maybelline) it was pretty disappointing . It's very good value but the bristle things are plastic and stiff and I found that after I applied it and it dried my lashes would also be really stiff like No flexibility and no more buildup. Also there are going to be more clumps the more coats you put on. Overall it was an ok mascara
Great mascara. No matter how many coats I put on, there was NO clumping. My lashes turn up and flare out at the edges. Waterproof.
This is by far my favourite drugstore mascara for length, volume, and definition. However, after discovering that CoverGirl still tests on animals, I will no longer buy their products. =(
I had really high hopes for this mascara because I'm always on the hunt for one that will by my HG. This one doesn't clump, but it doesn't do much otherwise. No volume, no length, pretty blah! Would work well for a teen just starting to use makeup, but for someone like me wanting volume and length keep looking. I think Maybelline does better mascaras and usually a couple of bucks cheaper.
I bought this mascara because of the hype but I was pretty underwhelmed. I should start out by saying it does what it claims, I've used it three times and it never clumped at all, which was impressive. However, that's the only positive thing I can say, no clumps. It doesn't separate lashes, lengthen, or volumize. So what you end up with is a very simple, basic mascara that works for a daytime look. For $9, there are so many better mascaras, for example Maybelline One by One is about $7 and it's 10x's better. I won't repurchase but I would recommend this to a teen or beginner as it's user friendly.
Everyone was saying great things about this Mascara, and I was really curious. Its OK, nothing really amazing about this, it doesn't clump, but didn't really separate my lashes, and the bristles on the brush were really hard and kind of hurt if you get to close to the eye lids. they don't really lengthen either. I like Maybelline the falsies better, or lush plush.
I went ahead and got this after reading so many positive things about it. Quite frankly I'm disappointed. It's just "ok". So what I do is use the brush in my Jordana mascara because the CC formula is not as good, BUT the CC brush works really well so.......*Shrug*
You know.... When I saw the claims that this mascara really did not clump, I was skeptical, so I had to try it and see for myself. Let me say that I absolutely love this mascara. It definitely lives up to its claims. When applied, there are literally no clumps. I see definition to my lashes when I use it as well. Definitely my daily go-to mascara.
