I think I've figured out the secret to application. Because of it's thick consistency, I squeeze out a pin-sized drop at a time and work on my face in sections (this is how I apply Illamasqua Rich Liquid as well). I then actually apply with my fingers, which I'm so against, but seems to work the best for this. Once I have applied all over my face, I take my MAC 109 brush and buff it all out - around my jawline, nose, mouth, and where I know I stopped the "sections" to make sure it's all even. On my normal-combo skin (normal/a teeny dry on the cheeks, oily on my forehead/nose) it actually does keep me matte a lot longer than all my high-end foundations. I also apply this using MAC Matte as a primer, so maybe that one-two punch really is what works.

I think maybe some people apply way too much not realizing how little really does go far with this, making it look thick/cake-y/mask-y, or just haven't found the right shade range - sadly, not everyone will always find a true match, or will need to mix a few colors within a range to do so.

I like the consistency, packaging, and price! I am a MAC NC20 and in this I am #100 Ivory and it really is a perfect, true, invisible match. It hasn't ever oxidized on me, and the very slim profile makes it easy to carry/travel with. The package - like Illamasqua Rich Liquid - looks like you're not getting anything much at all, but really so little product is needed that it does pack a lot.

Don't get this foundation! It is truly awful... it's called stay matte... yet, its not in the slightest. It looks too much like painted on skin and gives a very uneven coverage that is way to light for my liking. I bought this, used it for a few days until i could get a new one then not since. If someone wants a very very light coverage then it could be okay, but for me never again.

Utter crap. Can't believe Rimmel actually made this, since I quite like some of their other products.
Not at all as matte as it claims to be, yet somehow manages to look like poster paint on skin. Horrible to blend and leaves streaks.
NEVER BUY THIS.

I think I might be one of the only people who LOVES this! I ran out of the tube a while ago & wanted to try Revlon Colorstay, so I haven't repurchased it yet but I miss it! I'm going to get another tube tomorrow :)

I would use this for nights out. It's not a full coverage foundation, but I liked that. I tend to get splotchy red spots on my cheeks, chin, and nose & this foundation really smooths out the coloring of my skin. It provides a smooth canvas for the rest of my makeup. The best part is it looks like my bare skin & is matte! LOVE IT! It doesn't feel heavy & last a long time with primer. I can't wait to get my new tube! continued >>

awful!!! This has got to be the worst liquid foundation I have ever tried. I absolutely love the Rimmel 25 hour liquid foundation, so I thought I would give this one a try seeing as it is supposed to be matte. It was a nightmare! It does absolutely nothing for my skin, but apply blotchy and sticky and has 0 coverage. I tried blending it but it does not blend, it just sits there all uneven and oily. I actually tried it 3 different times, and I hated it more every time. Buy the 25 hour foundation, I love that stuff, it's amazing

I quite like this foundation, especially the consistancy. I have very oily skin and it 'stayed matte' for about 3-4 hours which is okay I guess. I'm '200' soft beige, for reference I'm NC20. It matches my skin exactly, though it does outline dry patches of active acne. However I wouldn't repurchase again, as it hardly stays on, even if I reapply the shine somehow battles through the power :(

If Makeup was like Photoshop, this foundation would be a 15% opacity layer. The color porcelain (lightest) has a tendency to turn orange and sorry Rimmel but it doesn't really "stay matte", it melts thus disappearing and sometimes giving me some rashes !??! ugh

This foundation isn't bad at all in my opinion. It's easy to blend and it doesn't look cakey. Although there's only three shades, you can mix your powder foundation in every application to get the color you desire.

Unfortunately, this just did not work for me. The lightest shade is still too dark for me (and it oxidized almost immediately). Furthermore, it made me shiny within an hour and did nothing to improve my skin. I like Rimmel cosmetics in general, but this foundation is a total waste of money. The only thing it's got going for it is the packaging.

This product works pretty well on my skin. While it sometimes does not go on evenly, I can get a nice even coat.
