This is what Estée Lauder double wear should've lbeen like. Great coverage, a really perfect finish. Semi matte. Not cakey. Great lasting power.

I usually turn to the vitalumiere aqua for daily use because it's lighter weight. But if I want a really perfect base then I bring out the perfection lumiere. It's dryer than the vitalumiere fluid and the vitalumiere aqua, but it still blends well into the akin.

Chanel foundations sell themselves. Go try a sample.

I got a sample of this foundation. It's a very foundation for someone that likes heavier coverage, say from medium to full. When I put it on, instantly it gives me flawless skin. After a couple of mins, I looked at myself in natural light and thought it was too heavy for my liking. Mind you, I'm not into heavy foundation. I generally like something just a tad more than tinted moisturizer. I'd prefer a lighter foundation that I can layer if I want to.

I bought this foundation after my counter had run out of my beloved vitalumiere aqua, so i decided to try a new chanel foundation. IM TOTALLY IN LOVE. i still love my vitalumiere aqua but when ever i go to the counter i always buy my aqua and my perfection lumiere.

the coverage on this foundation is medium, but i would say it is slightly buildable. The finish is demi matte and gives the skin an unweighed down, healthy look. If you have very dry skin, you may not like this product, as i found it clung to a a bit of my skin which i had accidentally left tooth paste on (when cleaning teeth) and had subsequently dried out. if you would like to try this foundation out and you have dry skin, be sure to moisturise you skin well, before applying.

i love that i can apply this foundation with my fingers or a brush (mac 187, 190, 130, chanel no. 7 brush) and really love to mix some highlighter in and apply with fingers.

packaging for this product is better now that they have reinforced the lid, and looks classy and elegant. The foundation has the typical chanel foundation smell, a kind of rosy smell that i personally LOVE, but it does fade as soon as it is applied if you dont like smell.

Who doesn't want perfection? I certainly do! When the SA at the Chanel counter told me this would give my dry, combination skin a long-lasting flawless finish, I was sold!. She matched me to Beige 10 (I'm NC15 on my neck and chest, NW20 on my face because Im always flushed). It was a perfect match because I couldn't see where she had applied it on my neck-jawline.

Was so excited when I got home. Cleansed my face and applied this over a primer. Coverage was medium leaning towards full and I found it hard to apply evenly with a brush (MAC 190, 187, 130). It wasn't "perfect" - it clung to dry patches I didn't know I had but I thought it'd be fine if I exfoliate before wearing it. The next day, I stippled it with a Beauty Blender (which works beautifully with most of my foundations) over sunscreen and primer. Then I gave it a light dusting of powder to set it.

The dry patches were still visible but less so from moisturization and exfoliation. A few hours later, I looked at my face and I was glowing like I had slathered frosted shimmer cream all over my face. The coverage had faded so my flushed skin came shining through and I have never seen my pores so visible without the aid of a magnifying mirror. Not good. The next day, determined to make it work, I applied the foundation with a SIGMA F82 round top kabuki brush. This gave a heavier coverage (it didn't feel like it but it looked full-coverage) with dry patches still showing. This time, it lasted longer and I didn't have the 80s disco "glow" that I had the day before.

It is not a bad foundation but far from perfection for me. I don't know if it's because I'm not applying it right, using the wrong primer or didn't moisturize or exfoliate enough. Regardless, it's too much work for that much money to make it worth repurchasing.

P.S., There is a strong fragrance to it and while I prefer my products fragrance-free, I liked this one because it smells like Annick Goutal's "Passion", which I own.

I have to say that I absolutely love this product. In MAC I am an NC30 and I would say that is a fairly adequate match except that it can run a bit too yellow on me. In Chanel I bought this foundation in Beige30 because that is the color that I was given in a mailed sample. The color just on the back of my hand is alarmingly light but once it is blended in it seems to melt into my skin and brighten it up a bit. This foundation lasts about a good 10 hours on me and does a fabulous at controlling my oils. I used to use MAC Prolongwear but I found that it was entirely too heavy and I had to work very hard to sheer it out and make it look natural...also I would get really oily and the makeup would start to separate on me. Anywho Chanels formula is magnificent. It really melts into your skin and feels like velvet when you put it on. I would say that the finish is demi matte because it does have some life to it. It is medium coverage but very buildable and it feels like I have NOTHING on my skin at all. It is entirely too easy to blend and I think it works wonders if you put it on with your fingers. It does have a noticeable fragrance that I find pleasant but if you are sensitive to fragrances I wouldn't recommend any of Chanel's foundations. The packaging is very expensive lookin with a glass bottle but not travel friendly for that exact reason. It has a wonderful pump though. Overall this is my holy grail foundation I just wish that it was less expensive.

The best foundation I have ever used
I sometimes get breakouts but this kept my skin hydrated and not too shiny, just a nice natural finish.
Stayed put all day and I didnt even need to use a powder on top.
Pricey but definitely does its job!

This foundation had a lightweight feel, and was easy to apply. I found it was expensive for the product in itself but did have a nice feel and natural look to it, it also stayed on all day without going patchy!
Overall I will be purchasing this foundation again!

UPDATE: I've had this foundation for less than a year (about 9-10 months) and unfortunately it has started to go bad. It has developed an off odor, and it has also oxidized in the bottle, so that it's slightly darker than it was when I purchased it.
I have enjoyed wearing it, but I won't be repurchasing. I took away a lippie because the bottle is labeled as lasting 12 months, and it didn't.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I bought this foundation a few months ago and I'm about halfway through the bottle. I've used it during cold weather and also through extreme heat and humidity.

My skin is normal/dry in winter, and oily in summer. My skin tone is NC30 in MAC, and I found the shade 30 Beige to be a near-perfect match.

I think it's the best foundation I've ever used. It has a beautiful finish.--- BUT it looks awful and fades if I don't use a primer under it! So if you're having trouble with this foundation, try it over a primer.

In winter, I wore it over Laura Mercier Radiance primer. In summer, I'm wearing it over Laura Mercier Oil-Free primer.

I would say this foundation is best for normal skin types. It's not as opaque or oil-resistant as say, Estee Lauder's Double Wear. It does provide good coverage, but doesn't "blank out" your skin.

I apply it with an E.L.F. Studio synthetic blush brush. This is my usual foundation brush. A little goes a long way. It can look cakey if applied too thickly.

I do feel that it needs to be set with powder. In the summer, I use MAC Blot powder. In the winter, I'll probably switch to my Chanel loose powder.

If worn over primer and set with powder, it lasts all day. I do usually have to blot at least once a day to control shine.

UPDATE 11/2/2012: I'm still using the same bottle. I think the product has oxidized a bit, over time. I notice it has started looking darker upon application.

This past week, I tried applying the foundation with a damp sponge, and I really like the resulting finish. I think it hides my pores better. And it seems to last longer, even without primer. I do use up about twice as much product this way, however.

Since the weather is cooler, I've also switched from my MAC Blot powder to my Chanel Loose Powder. The Chanel powder provides a very pretty, smooth finish over this foundation, as long as your skin isn't too oily.

I switched from matt lumiere to perfection lumiere, because I didn't like the matt lumiere anymore. Well, I have to say that buying the Perfection Lumiere wasn't such a good idea. It looks very dry on my skin ( Where's the healthy glow the foundation promises?), it doesn't last very long, and the most important thing: this foundation hardly offers any coverage. There's a huge different between matt lumiere & perfection lumiere when it comes to coverage. I think it's obvious for a foundation to cover well, which I can't say about this foundation at all. My bottle isn't empty yet, but still I'm not gonna use it anymore. It's really not worth the price, and not worth a Chanel foundation.
