I have extremely oily skin and my forehead is a total greaseball at the end of the day. It definitely shows in pictures and I have struggled with this problem since high school. I started breaking out when I started college... I don't know if it's stress but I always have pimples now. When I looked on acne.org, it recommended this Neutrogena On-The-Spot treatment.
This product use to make me break out with even more pimples than I had before so I thought I was allergic to benzoyl peroxide... but my cousin and facial lady said that BP should work and dry up the pimples so I tried it again. The pimples still did not go away so I left it alone in my drawer for a few weeks. Then I read some reviews here and somebody said that she gave 3 chances and it finally worked. So I then decided to use it on my acne again... and finally, my pimples on my temples were finally going away. They haven't completely vanished but this is the most progress I've seen. Facials haven't work. Dermalogica products did nothing. I guess third time's the charm. I only use it once a day after I shower and wash my face. It's taking forever to work on the pimples on my chin. I would probably try another BP product after I finish with this one because I think my pimples are starting to be immune to the formula. Final conclusion: it does work... it just takes a while. I think there are better BP treatments out there though.
I didn't feel like spending a lot of money on an acne cream, this stuff does the job when i have a pimple or like three on my face. it's a bit runny, but that may just be my bottle. sometimes, it's hard to control how much you get out, but that's really not a huge problem. no scent, which is nice. definitely effective and not at all drying.
I came across this product after taking the Neutrogena Skin ID survey. From what was recommended to me, I just looked for products in their skincare line that had the same ingredients. I was 14 (Oil free acne stress control power cream), 32 (on the spot treatment), and 38 (rapid clear treatment pads). I have reviewed all these products. I have combo skin that can be a bit more oily at times and mild acne on my forehead with small bumps along my cheeks and jawline. I was pleasantly surprised that this did not irritate me more than I expected with a 2.5% BP concentration. I have had itchy and really dry skin with previous BP uses (Clearasil). I have been using this whole regimen for a week and have noticed less breakouts, scars that are fading, and decreased acne. I am left feeling a bit dry so I make sure to use a moisturizer in the AM and PM after these products. I only use the spot treatment and treatment pads at night. I am going to keep up with this regimen and hopefully see continued results.

I used this for a couple of months. Even though it does help reduce the visibility of spots, it is too drying for my combination skin. The smell of this treatment is also unpleasant. The packaging so okay at first until the last few drops. It is difficult to squeeze out the last bit.
This is a good product..but its expensive for not even a full ounce. I paid about 7 dollars. And I used it fast! :( ANYWHO, this product goes on smooth and does help stop new pimples from getting huge.
I like the packaging! It has a snap top which is nice cause I always end up losing the caps to everything. Overall a good product if you want to give up the money for it.
:D
you have to understand what you are buying here in order to appreciate the product. YES it will dry the skin you put it on, that's what it is supposed to do. you cant complain about that. this product is pretty helpful for mild acne, but you, obviously, can't expect it alone to cure all of your skin problems. i use it at night after i wash my face and then wash my face in the morning too.
I have a love/hate relationship with this stuff. I can't explain why, but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When it does, it requires a huge amount of product (I have to apply enough so that it sits on the zit and becomes crusty, how attractive) and overnight. I wish this was a gel, because those tend to absorb better and work better. However, I will say that this cream works just as good as prescription benzoyl peroxide of the same strength.
I guess this falls under "Yes, I will repurchase if I'm feeling really desperate in the skin products aisle at Target".

I've used this product on and off since I was a teen (I'm almost 23) and I keep coming back; I even ditched the prescription treatments from my dermatologist for this. It really works that well. I get really bad menstrual breakouts, and a thin layer of this stuff on my T-zone morning and night helps clear up those pimples and bumps and prevent new ones too. It's not extremely drying, it works well under my moisturizer, and a little goes a long way. Love this treatment!
I haven't been using this product very long, I'm not a big fan of Neutrogena but this has such great reviews I decided that if I'm gonna try everything for my acne then I'm gonna try this.
Pros
*It goes on quite nicely, it's a cream not gel so it spreads OK & I haven't had any flaking or balling up problems with it.
*My skin looks pretty matte after, no sheen, which is really good
*It seems to do a pretty good job of controlling shine cause normally after a few hrs I have to blot my face & while I still do, the oil that's there is considerably less & I have very oily skin.
*My acne isn't so bad since I started using this. With the treatment I was using before I would wake up with whiteheads upon whiteheads, just fresh breakouts, but this doesn't happen with this product & the breakouts that are there are reduced.
Cons
*I don't really love the smell. It fades after a little while but initially, I don't like it.
*If you happen to scratch your face you'll see the product under your nails, not a-lot, but it leaves a residue which I guess is what keeps the oil & shine under control.
This hasn't worked a miracle but it has helped. I've been using it for maybe 2 1/2 weeks so I'm gonna use it till the end then report back, hopefully with better results!!! = ) continued >>
I've been using this product for about a week now. And the horrible break out that I had is almost gone ! I have a mixture of every type of acne that you can have. Blackheads... white heads... painful cystic acne... etc. This stuff KILLS all those suckers in about 3-4 days and without using this stuff they last up to 2 weeks! (I'm a smoker so I don't heal as well as non smokers). And it helps with scarring too... which is kind weird cause I didn't think it would. But it did. It does vanish and doesn't leave a white streak. I use this with the Neutrogena redness calming green stuff cream... so that cleanser doesn't allow my skin to become dry and flaky.
