I like this foundation. Full coverage, matte finish, stays all day. But it i found aluminum in the ingredients which is kinda scares me. I heard it blocks your pores that you will not be able to sweat! Maybe that's why my oily skin stays matte all day :/
Toast was the closest match for my nc 42 skin tone, but it was too orange. The foundation also oxidizes with sunscreen and turns more orange over time. It looked very unnatural and embarrassing because of this. The finish is matte in the combo/oily line and I haven't tried the dry skin line. Oil breaks through after about 4 hours of classes/walking to and from buildings in Florida's spring. Like the whipped version, I could only manage to try this foundation for a week because it began to give me pimples after the first application and kept getting worse with more attempts.
This foundation really is impressive for a drugstore brand. I kept hearing about this from multiple makeup gurus and decided to try it because I was sick of spending tons of money on expensive high end brands and not being fully satisfied. I was actually very impressed. I have combination skin and I always get really oily in my Tzone during my workday and I get dry patches around my mouth so it's hard to find something that gives good coverage without looking cakey, stays all day, and agrees with my sensitive skin. I was so surprised with how it lasted during my busy work day of blow drying, shampooing, etc. The heat and steam from doing hair all day usually leaves me quite oily and blotchy. This makeup really held its own through it all. However, I really hate that it has no pump and the smell isn't very pleasant. I have very sensitive skin and as I've been getting a little older, more prone to breakouts. I was very concerned that this would break me out. It didn't make my skin worse while I was using it everyday, but it definitely wasn't making it any better. When I would take it off at the end of the day, it was kind of like removing a mask and my pores would definitely feel a little clogged. It definitely has a heavier feel so if that's an issue for you, I wouldn't recommend this. Overall, I think this is a stand up foundation and I use it on nights out and/or when I need something that will survive any type of crazy environment!

I have the 24 hour formula for combination/oily skin
When I first used this, i was amazed. I have big trouble finding good foundations that last on my oily skin, and this was the one. It lasted all day, it kept the shine at bay, not oily feeling at all when touching the skin and no breakouts (i have sensitive acne prone skin).
But after almost finish one bottled, i realized i'm not completely satisfied with it.
Even though i have oily skin, i find that really mate foundations look unatural and makes skin appear "dead", also it enphasises textured skin, which is something i have. So, i realized i'm looking for a more natural look, this foundation just looks too obvious (and i'm really careful with the application in terms of tools, quantity and blending). I like it more after a few hours when my oils start to appear on my skin because it looks more natural.
I also notice that after a few hours, it starts to look patchy and somewhat dry. You can only tell in a short distance, but i'm really self concious about that especially at sun light.
I tried mixing it to my moituriser but it doesn't did anything, it looses it's staying power and coverage, and i don't really like the way it looks after a few hours... :-/
I was feeling sad because i really liked the staying power and oil control of this foundation, but after some research i realized many people had the same issues , and they were saying that the normal to dry skin formula worked better for them because it's more natural looking, more blendable and it's also oil free and no alcohol... it has oil control, besides the hydrating properties and almost the same lasting power, so i was excited to try and decided to give it a go.. i'll be updating this review as soon as i try the N/D formula ;)
NOTE: for those who are worried about this foundation to break you out, just make sure you are completely removing it at night. That's probably the reason why so many people have issues with this product. Use an oil based makeup remover, because it dissolves the foundation and remove it from the skin. Then you can follow up with a regular cleanser just to make sure it's completely removed. You can also use EVOO (that's what i use) - it's very effective at removing colorstay and also my eyemakeup, then i use my regular cleanser, and no breakouts so far after 3 months using this foundation daily! ;)
UPDATE: i bought a second bottle of this foundation while i was in love with it and to make sure i wasn't wasting it, i tried many different ways to apply it, so i could use it in a satisfatory way to me. I tried with my fingers and i loved the finish. It's still matte but meanwhile the texture of my skin has improved due to some treatments i'm using, so it looked sooo natural, it blended perfectly with my skin.
I'm not sure what i was doing wrong with the previous application (if the technique - i was using a flat top kabuki brush - the quantity or the application) but i like much better this way. i'm very happy i found a way this works for me because this foundation is still on my top favourite:) and i'm changing my initial review..
Although i changed my review, i prefer the normal to dry one. it's easier to blend, it looks more natural and has a more natural finish. So, i prefer that as my everyday foundadion, because with the oily combination one you can always see it in person :-/ it's better for nightime...

When I first bought this, I was in love. The texture feels nice and is great for covering up practically anything because it is buildable. Unfortunately, I noticed I was having bad breakouts everyday and nothing would make them stop. I thought it was hormones or something. Well, when I stopped using this and switched to a marykay foundation, my skin started healing and I havent had a breakout since. Even though it says oil free, beware, it might still hurt your skin.
I really love this foundation. I been using the SFF all the time, which is great but I wanted to try this one cause of all the good reviews. I'm a NC45 in SFF so I read Caramel would be a great match. So it is!! It gives medium to full coverage. Depends on which way to apply it. I used it with my fingers, which works pretty good. With a stippling brush, it gives a full and flawless coverage as well. Don't know about the sponge but ill try it today... But it really last ALL day. Usually I get a oily nose after 2 hours but with CS it stays matte all day. Flawless flawless flawless !!! Definitely repurchase it!!

I love the coverage this gives me, but I dislike how it makes my skin oily around the creases of my nose and chin after a little while. Having to reapply powder every time can get tiring, so I'd like the formula to contain powder-like ingredients to absorb the oil, rather than add on to the oils already on my face.
I tend to use this foundation during the day rather than for events, but i do really like this product. It sits on my face all day (nice matte effect) i never have to top up when wearing this foundation. Another thing i really love about it compared to other foundations i have tried is that it covers blemishes really really well..even better than some other products i've tried like Clinique, Clarins etc. The product lasts me quite a while as i don't need to use much of it and i like how it comes without the pump so you can take out as much as you need rather than wasting the product. The price is fantastic at £13, it's definitely worth it for what you're getting!

I love how this product does a full-coverage and sets matte on my face. However, I don't like how the formulation is SO heavy! It cakes up a little bit, but it isn't that bad. It sucks that they don't have the shade that I use here in Canada (Golden Beige) - the only reason why I got my hands on it was because my sister bought it for me when she went to NY with my mom for a vacation. In order for me to attain my perfect shade here in Canada, I have to mix two colours which is just a little bit too tedious for me. I don't have time to mix two different shades of foundations when I have to be out the door by 6 in the morning! Also, this broke me out a lot so I could only use it twice or thrice a week so that it wouldn't be so bad for my face :(
