I use this product daily. Both of my bottles never had any real smell to them. Both of the sprayers tended to drip instead of spray...so I just poured ELF's into a old UD all-nighter bottle and Voila! nice light spray with no drips. I like both UD's and ELF's, but lets face it...$30 vs $3 for basically the same product...I'll stick with ELF.

Studio Makeup Mist & Set Spray's reputation for being a stinky, sticky mess nearly deterred me from one of my staple products. I haven't personally don't find the smell bothersome, but I know the smell people are talking about. I tend to use this product when my makeup looks too cakey and it does take away a too powdery finish. I scored it for half off during a big ELF haul and I do use it frequently. continued >>

This product is $3 sometime you can get it on sale on the website.
I spray this arm length away.

I got this from a swap. its alright. I noticed my face lasting longer not so much on my eyes.

first off... it stinks... but only for the first minute you don't smell it anymore after that... thats the only reason my overall rating is 4.

Other than that i would purchase this in the future.

This spray actually works better than I thought it would. For $3 I didn't expect for it to be all that great, but I still decided to purchase it and give it a try. I am so glad I did, after applying all of my makeup I mist my face with a bit of this and it leaves my face looking nice and leaves it that way for a couple of hours. It reduced oil and shine. And as for the bad scent that others are commenting on, I haven't noticed any scent in mine at all. Mine actually has a clean scent to it, idk how to describe it. Everyone should give this a try, it's so cheap and well worth the money, in my opinion.

Pretty good finishing spray. For $3 theres no way you can go wrong! I have super oily skin and I use this over my foundation and it works great without making me look greasy. A lot of people are complaining about the scent but it doesn't have a scent to me.

I normally don't take risks on products like this because I am very acne prone and sensitive. The key ingredients listed include, Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E. All of which I can tolerate. If it doesn't work, $3 lost won't make me cry.

The product works. I have very oily skin and this kept me fresh looking without looking greasy or cakey for 12 hours. It did not have a scent on my skin but did become stinky on my friend. This might have something to do with skin pH and or reaction to foundation/powder. I used this with Josie Maran's Matchmaker Serum Foundation dry set with Laura Mercier Translucent loose powder then mist set with the ELF product... It worked perfectly for me.

Very good, not amazing. I use this daily and it really does help keep my makeup on. I have used pricier versions -- Urban Decay (the dewy version -- E.L.F has one formula, which isn't as dewy as UD, but honestly, for me, that is probably good), and UD was better. But not by a lot - the E.L.F. version is about 80%, maybe a little more, as good. But the E.L.F. is $3 and the UD is $30. That means, I will use the E.L.F. I obviously kept my UD till it was gone for special occasions, but I have run out. I would buy that one again as a splurge or ask for it as a gift for those special events. For day to day, E.L.F. is perfect. The price difference is staggering, but the performance gap exists but isn't as big as the difference in cost.

This is one of those things you think doesn't work until you go a day without it (and that is true of the UD version, as well). I never thought the spray really helped....either brand....until I didn't use it. I used it normally, skipped it one day in D.C. heat in late July and realized I had made a mistake by noon. I even missed a day in Massachusetts winter and noticed that my makeup melted faster without it. It's the workhorse of your makeup bag -- not glam, doesn't produce quick or obvious results, but is important. It's more important to me than primer in terms of keeping stuff on.

So while you won't notice a huge difference instantly (or really until you see yourself without it after a long day)...trust me, it's probably the best, most practical $3 you can spend overall when it comes to makeup.

And as a side note -- it does stinky. It smells like a funeral home. But you won't smell like that all day.

I really don't know what to say about this product in terms of using it and its ability to set makeup and keep me looking dewy because the smell was so vile I had to wash it off and open the bathroom windows.

I'm not prone to exageration and I really tried to ignore the smell for a few minutes but it just did not disperse. It's a strange chemical smell like burning plastic mixed with sick. Actually it reminds me of that foul YSL perfume that used to be called Champagne before they had to change the name.

For what it's worth, I didn't find the spray too bad but it's not a fine mist like hairspray.

I feel I should mitigate this bad review by stating that I love the ELF Studio products particularly the eyebrow powder and the HD powder.

I bought this when ELF had a huge sale going on. I figured for £1.50 I couldnt really go wrong even if it didnt work. Sadly, it really didnt work for me. It does help to make you makeup not look so powdery or just done but it didnt help to set my makeup at all. I didnt really even notice the difference to be quite honest.
