Nice mascara. I don't like anything clumpy or thick, so this works out fine for me. It goes on very natural. It does tend to come off a little at the lower corner of my eyes. I find that most mascaras are about the same for me in the "looks very natural" style. I don't find this one better or worse than others. So far, this is my favorite mascara, but I am hoping to find a less expensive alternative.
I got this in the sample size as a gift-with-purchase type thing, and I've been using it regularly since. I like that it darkens my already dark lashes, it almost reduces my need for eyeliner, and it adds a slight curl to my downward-pointing lashes, but the staying power is limited. I'm not sure if I would actually purchase this...perhaps I would if it didn't flake off as frequently.
This mascara makes eyelashes very very long and dark and also adds a considerable amount of volume.
It can be messy to apply for me but that's due to my frequent switch of mascaras- so I don't have a lot of practice with this one. But my BFF wears it as good as every day and it gives her a lot of definition, volume, and length. The brush can really get all of your eyelashes and the wand, I feel, is the perfect length. Glides over your eyelashes and sweeps them to perfection, lol :D
This mascara also stayed in place pretty well even after an hour of intense riding in the heat.
:) I love this mascara, consider it as a HG mascara!
I give this mascara a 3 because I think a lot of women will probably find this mascara to be on the wet and messy side. I got it in a sample size as a freebie, I had already looked up reviews on it so I knew the potential for the wet mess. I gave myself extra time and applied it very slowly and carefully. I have blonde, barely there eyelashes that are very short and limp. I usually use darker brown mascaras, but this black worked out pretty nicely. When applied carefully, it won't be messy or wet. I loved how long and thick my eyelashes looked. They even seemed to have a curl to them. I would not recommend this mascara if you hurriedly put it on or if you already have long lashes, and it's on the pricey side as far as the regular sized tube goes.
This might do a good job in making nice lashes but they aren't doubled, and don't expect it to stand up to any eye watering. Classic black rivulets down the face soap opera style if you peel an onion.
Love this, got it as a sample and just purchased full size. It is a beautiful day mascara - long lashes but not too thick or clumpy.
I too received this as part of a GWP and SURPRISE! I really love this mascara and will certainly purchase it when the mini runs out. I have blonde lashes and loved this black though I usually wear brown/black. The formula gave my lashes a beautiful long but natural look and wore very well. LOVELY!! It also held a curl. I love Clinique as they make affordable and great cosmetics! Highly recommend!
I do NOT like this mascara.
- ok packaging
- the color is true black
- it's not SUPER expensive
- you have to be extremely precise with this, or it'll look horrible. My lashes didnt exactly clump, but there were definitely places where there were these huge deposits of black.
- the brush is huge
- this mascara can be VERY messy. It also irritates my eyes.
I might just not like this mascara because I got it in a sample size, and I'm used to using full-size wands, but I still hate how the application is so messy.
This is the second Clinique mascara I've tried, and I love it! I got it as part of a Clinique promo (small size), but I will DEFINITELY be buying a full-sized one when this one runs out.
I don't know about the "lash-doubling" aspect, but I wear it because it holds a curl (the only mascara so far to hold my annoyingly straight, Caucasian lashes--even curling mascaras fail), it isn't clumpy (like the Clinique curling mascara), and it doesn't end up under my eyes in a few hours (Maybelline Great Lash...). So far, it's my HG mascara...
I received this mascara as a free gift from Clinique so I'm using the sample size product. Now since the product is smaller, it's bound to be slightly different than the original, but I'm reviewing the one that I have. Some information about my lashes. They're dark brown, naturally on the longer side, straight, and have some gaps. Now this mascara promises double the volume and double the lashes and after using this a few times, I don't think it delivers what it says it's supposed to do. It didn't make my lashes appear voluminous, however it did give them a slight curl so that was a nice surprise. It also made my lashes appear longer, making my eyes pop, so that was another positive for this mascara. The color is a soft black that stays wet much longer than the average mascara so it's easy to add extra coats. The brush was long and thin so it's hard to see how it could give your lashes volume unless you all ready have lashes that are thick and luscious. I find this to be a very natural mascara so if you're looking for something that isn't too dramatic then this mascara could be just what you're looking for. Something about this mascara that bothers me is that it tangles up my lashes together that it's hard to separate them, even with my mascara comb. I don't know if this effect has happened with anyone else but no matter how I've applied it, I've had this problem almost each time. Also, I don't like spending big bucks on mascara since it dries out so quickly and lasts for such a short amount of time as it is. It has to be really good stuff for me to spend the money and in this case, while this mascara is decent (by no means terrible), I wouldn't repurchase it. I'm still looking for my HG mascara and sorry, but this one isn't it.
