My mom actually got this, and at first, I was skeptical. I'm 15, and anything my mom wears, I usually stay away from, just as a general rule. (but she is stylish and young, so dont not buy this just because a mom wears it) her hair colorist had it on and my mom kept raving about how her skin literally looked like it was glowing. she was very impressed, and we went to the mac counter asap. I had never paid much attention to mac mineralize before, but now its my favorite. It's so shimmery, but the color themselves are very natural. Dust some on your cheekbones with a stiff, flat brush for a lit from within look. I cant wait to go back to mac to get my own. I love it!
EDIT: I just went to buy my own and I love it. Its a very flattering shimmery peach color. It would be perfect year round, even in the winter, to add warmth back to tired, dull skin.
I bought this a week ago and thought it would look nice and natural on me. I am a NC42 it just gives off a pink sheen and does not really show up much on the skin. If you apply to much you will look ashy. Morale of the story should have tried in the shop before i bought it instead of jus reading reviews. I have found that i can apply this better as an eye shawdow and it shows up well with excellent sheen.
I LOVE THIS MSF! It looks very much like Shimpagne, another favorite of mine. It goes on so smooth and silky on the skin! I use this ad a highlighter and it just brightens up my face! Seems to add 'life' to it. And it look quite natural. I'm an NW25 and this shows up well on my skintone. I'm so glad this is permanent too! Great msf's are too often discontinued or LE. But this is not!
Without having searched too long, to be honest, I think I have found my HG highlighter. I rarely use it on my face, not that there is anything wrong with the product of course, it is just me with my strong features who can hardly tolerate any shimmer on my skin. However, as a highlighter under my brow or in my tear duct, S&G definitely rocks. I used to have Stila Kitten for this purpose, which looks a bit cooler on me, but I noticed that it was more pigmented and therefore harder to correct in case I made a mistake. So I experimented with long forgotten S&G and have stuck with it since. This is exactly the right color for me and I found that it matches both my warm and cool eyeshadows, while in the past I used ricepaper as a highlighter for bronzey/coppery eyeshadows. Plus, when I use only one eyeshadow all over the lid, I discovered that a vertical line of S&G across my lid made with my small finger really brightens up my look and makes even the quickest eye make up look carefully prepared. Overall, I am very happy with this product and I think the way I use it it will last for ever. There may be better highlighters out there, I know, but I thank S&G for being in my make up case and giving me some ideas on how to have a nice, simple eye make up in no time. continued >>
OMG I love this.
It gives such a nice radiant glow!
I don't recommend wearing this directly on the front of your cheeks, and don't apply tooooooo much because it can look kinda too shiny in pictures.
As long as you know how to apply it, you're fine!
Although I think I'm going to get natural next time just to see what that's like
I love this product, but I have a confession to make. I don't use it as a face highlighter. I use it as an all over wash of eyeshadow. On days when I wear no other eye makeup, I put this on with the MAC 227 and at least look like I tried. The color is basically skin tone (my skin tone-NW 30ish) with shimmer. I don't actually see any glitter in mine, just fairly large and frosty shimmer particles. On days when I have a little more time, but still not enough for a full face, I'll put S&G all over and a bit of Satin Taupe in the crease. It's a no-brainer product for eyes. And the huge face-sized compact will last for-freaking-ever. If you bought this as a face highlighter, and are disappointed that it's too shimmery, enlarges pores, or looks greasy, try it on your eyes. It may not be a waste after all! continued >>
This stuff is actually amazing! I apply it on top of my cheekbones. Imagine a line going from the bottom of your nose to the top of your ear - I put s&g on/above that line. I also apply it on my temples - going from the point of my cheekbone that is closest to my hairline, up beside my eyebrow. It gives such a gorgeous and healthy glow if you apply after bronzer and/or blusher. It doesn't make my skin appear oily either, which is a major plus.
The only downside is the amount of glitter in it (and for that reason alone I have taken off a star). It kinda makes me mad that mac insist on putting glitter in a lot of their products, however once applied to the brush (187) I tap it on the end of the packaging so that most of the glitter chunks fall off.
I have used this product for about 4 months now and have barely scratched the surface which is fab. I thought that the price was pretty reasonable considering that it is mac, and their powders last forever!
I never ever get complimented on my skin but my friends and actually someone in a petrol station asked me what I am using to give me such a pretty 'glow'. Apart from the fact that I love it, that reason alone will make me repurchase if and when I ever get to the bottom of it! continued >>
Awful product - I can excuse the reaction it caused me (massive eczema, but thats my skin not the products fault) but this is so shimmery it highlights all of your pores (and I have very small ones) it is massively ageing, the sparkles look plain trashy and it looks greasy in photos.
i am a NW25 in summer and NW20 in winter and an N6 in studio fix powder. this product is amazing. what it does is give my skin a very slight sheen, like it makes it look a little 'dewey' instead of matte and stuck. it is beautiful for summer and just a touch of sheen. not overly glowy or brown or pink...just a sheer flesh toned sheen that kind of just washes over everything and gives a beautiful sheer finish that brightens up every look....i like wearing this with just mascara and red lips for summer. just a wonderful product! i hope this helps! i have few HG's and this is one.
This is one of my FAVE makeup products to use :D i love having a matte complexion so having a bit of shine and illiminates my face :D it looks great on the cheek bones under the brows along the nose and on the lips for a fuller look.
i would def recommend this to anyone
