This is one lovely blush! I have heard so many good things about this so I decided to give it a try. The shade is a easy-to-wear coral/peach blush with a subtle gold shimmer and I haven't seen or heard about anyone who doesn't like this shade, since it suits most complexions (I guess that's the reason it's so popular). It gives your cheeks a nice fresh colour and is really beautiful on tanned skin, as on pale skin. I love it and use it almost every day! Bonus for the mirror in the lid.
I'm nc 40 and everyone says it doesn't show up on their skin. Not for me! I love this color<3
This is my HG blush ! I love it ! It's been a year since I bought this. I've heard so many reviews saying "Deep throat" was a better color for pale skin like mine... So I bought it, but honestly Orgasm suits every skin tone ! I like Orgasm better than Deep Throat.
I gave 3 lippies for the price because they've arisen the price at sephora, in France which is not okay. Nars's stuff are already expensive..
This is a lovely coral-pink blush with large golden shimmer in it. Great pigmentation and longevity. I really like Nars blushes, great quality. The thing is you won't like it if you don't like shimmery finishes.
I have the nars orgasm Laguna duo and I adore both orgasm has just the nicest glow and the color looks good on most skin tones also a very creamy powder. However I found the clasp hard to open so the first time I opened it I chipped it with my nail and was devastated lol but overall do not regret buying at all or paying full price.
No complaints. This product is always good. I like something a little "brighter" on occasion but if I could only have one blush, this would be it. A little pricey but lasts forever
NEW INGREDIENTS: Talc, cetearyl isononanoate, zinc stearate, silica, cetyl acetate, stearoxy dimethicone, isopropyl lanolate, acetylated lanolin alcohol, methylparaben, propylparaben, triclosan, BHA, mica, assorted colors including iron oxides and several FD&C colors.
It is easy to see why this is a cult fave. It is absolutely beautiful and looks more natural than anything I have ever tried. Makes you look healthy. The perfect balance between pink and peach. The shimmer is very slight - just gives you a glow, not a shine. The new formula seems more "loose" than the old formula according to former reviewers - it doesn't take any building up to get color. A little goes a LONG way. I gave it 4 stars for packaging because I would like a little brush included, for touch-ups. Gave it 4 stars overall because there are several toxic ingredients, among them triclosan and 2 different parabens (look it up on skindeep.org). Too bad they didn't take out the parabens with the new formula. For this reason I don't know if I will keep this blush, even though it's absolutely gorgeous. I also wish the shade name wasn't orgasm - I'm not sure I'd want to tell my mother what my blush shade is called!
Yes, it's a hyped product, but after trying this, I can certainly see why people adore it.
I must admit, it took me a while to actually splurge and buy this, as I couldn't justify spending $42Au on a single blush. So I made my way through a number of cheaper dupes, and liking the results on them, decided to buy the real deal. I almost returned it straight away, thinking that I had a couple of very close dupes, it would just be redundant to purchase, but I'm glad I didn't, as that assumption was just so wrong.
First thing I noticed is the colour suits so well on my light to medium cool/peach toned skin. I find it looks nicer during winter months when I am slightly lighter and more cool toned. The shimmer and blush base is delightfully finely milled, which on my face translates to a radiant glow. What it most reminds me of is the gentle flush you get when you've been exercising, it really looks like it's emanating from within your skin, not a product sitting on top of it. On my cheeks, it's a cool to neutral deep rose pink with fine gold shimmer, on my skin the gold translates and looks more to be radiating from my base skin tone than it does appear as sparkle as such. It's not in the slightest powdery, either in the pan or on the face, so you'll get a smooth application without looking at all chalky or caked on. There's absolutely no dust or disturbance to the product in the pan either, it's incredibly well pressed and product picks up easily with any fall out at all, not a speck.
Interestingly, I think it may depend on your skin as to how it shows up. If I swatch on the back of my hand, it is quite sparkly, but on my face, not so much. I usually apply blush after my foundation, but before I powder, so I find this helps to settle and blend as well, and can reduce any residual sparkle.
It does have a decent amount of pigment, which means I tend to prefer a bigger, fluffier brush for more subtle, built up application, and this helps to keep it more natural looking as it disperses the gold shimmer a lot better. I find the looser and fluffier the brush, the more I like the finish, and the more natural it appears. For really subtle application, a stipple or duo fibre really works well, and this can also cut down on the sparkle that ends up on the skin. But if I'm after more pigment and sparkle, a smaller, dense blush or buffer brush helps to achieve that.
I also tend to build the colour up with this gradually, if I go in and apply lots of colour straight off, I don't like the effect nearly as much, even if I'm going for a heavier application, it still looks better built up. It's pigmented enough, but I can build from sheer coverage using a light dusting with a duo fibre brush, all the way up to super pink and sparkly using a denser brush if that's the look I'm going for. It blends brilliantly, which helps immensely with a great application.
But the thing that amazes me the most is how long this blush stays on. I can honestly say it's the longest wearing blush I've ever used. I can still see it when I go to take my make up off in the evenings, I never have to touch up my blush when I wear this.
Where this sold me over the dupes is definitely the longevity of wear, plus it appears to have a cool pink base with a warmer gold sparkle/sheen, which I think helps it's general effect, they work so well together. Its texture is far superior too, high pigment, not powdery.
I walked into Sephora today and asked for a sample of some cream, and then thought, what the heck, I'll try this NARS Orgasm blush that everyone is talking out. I tried it on and loved it. Walked out a happy camper! Beautiful color and a little goes a long way. LOVE IT!
No denying it's a very nice, pretty blush. I use it all the time. But Wet n Wild has a dupe for this, it's their Pearlescent Pink. Literally a perfect match. Why would you spend $38 on this when you can get the same thing for $2.99?
Don't waste your money!
