I LOVE THIS!! I have been using this for over 5 years to fight blackheads on my nose. I can't believe how much crap and gunk is in my nose. Follow the directions carefully. It says to wet your nose and then place the stip on it. I tend to use my fingers to continue to have this hang on to my skin on the nose until it gets hard. I especially hold this on the corner between your nosetrils and your actualy cheek area. . I think that because I am breathing it tends to get lose and doesn't take all the crap out of my pores. I don't have to do this when I do my forehead or chin. Then you wait for it to get hard..usually 5-7 minutes and then with a slight tug peal it away!! And there goes all the crap that even with my daily skincare cleansing/treatment it's till cloggs up!! I use this about 2x a week and more in the summer when I tend to sweat a little more. Yes they are expensive at the drugstore but try ebay and they are dirt cheap!!
While this product did not completely clear away all of my blackheads on my nose it did a pretty good job at getting the 'gunk' out. It is somewhat intriguing to look at what is left on the strip afterwards, which is mostly blackheads and tiny hairs. I usually use this product about once a week to get a deep clean that my cleanser cannot do. Overall I would buy this product again.
I have been using this for a couple of years now. The instructions of the package advise one to use it periodically, leaving at least 3-4 days in between each use. I use it every week for best results right after I've showered. I will dry my body, but dap my face dry leaving out the area where I want to stick the strip on. The strips works best on enlarged pores and wet skin. (If you're using this in winter, it's best to wash you face with warm water before using this to open up your pores). After sticking it onto your nose & cheeks, gently press it down with DRY fingers and make sure the areas where you want to get rid of the white/blackheads adhered well. Depending on the climate you live in, remove it only when it feels a little hard and dry. Try moving your nose with the strip on it, if it feels tight you can remove it. I feel that the strip works best in removing 80% of the dirt when it is slightly dry. I've tried following the instructions on the packaging and remove them after 15-20mins but as I live in Singapore, it's more humid and the strip was still wet and ineffective. After removing, wash your face with lukewarm water before continuing with your daily skincare regime (toner, serum, moisturizer etc). I use to have blackhead issues but they're gone now so I tackle the whitehead issue with this strip. I've heard of how some reviews advise against removing whiteheads because they claim doing so leads to more sebum and whitehead production but I guess it depends on the individual. For me, my nose actually feels less oily after I've used the strips to remove the whiteheads clogging up my pores.. but this usually lasts until they build up again.
i have a lot of pores around my nose and around my cheeks,so i bought this product in hopes of making my pores look less visible. I bought this at my local supermarket in the beauty alley. It was on sale around $4.80 for a box of 6, but rrp is approximately $7. It's quick and easy to use, I could see the results after I peeled the strip off my nose, LOL it's quite disgusting but interesting looking at all the gunk that has been lying under my nose ..
Definitely recommend buying this!
I honestly don't know if these really do what they claim to or not. When I peel the strip off my nose you see yellow-ish skin coloured particles and little baby hairs left over. But I am still left with my annoying blackheads all over my nose! My whole family have tested these out and same goes for them. In my opinion these just remove all the tiny hairs from your nose and just some dead skin. I still like using them though as my nose feels 'cleaner' afterwards.
I have very enlarged pores due to excess oil and some blackheads on my nose. I tried these because I thought they would be able to cleanse the excess oil away and make my pores seem smaller.
I followed the instructions and upon removal, I found that it stuck to my nose and I needed to rip it off. There wasn't any dirt or grime on the strip and there definitely was no reduction of the appearance of my pores. There has been a slight decrease in my blackheads, but not much.
I finished the box and I'm going to try boscia and see if I get better results. Even if I don't, I probably won't buy this again because there was no actual difference.
My husband and I both use these strips. Both of us have noticed a decrease of blackheads on our nose. They're a staple in my beauty routine.
I have a LOT of white/blackheads on my nose and my friend told me how great these were so I went and bought a box at a nearby drugstore. These strips don't take out all of the gunk but my nose did feel smoother and I felt better, so I'm pretty happy with it anyway :) Anyway, the reason I gave it a 4 is because they don't keep your pores clear. And they made my pores bigger. The strips aren't supposed to do these things so I guess it's okay, but it still bothers me. I don't know if I should buy another box to clear my blackheads or not buy another box so my pores won't get even bigger.
This is the only pore strip brand I buy because it's what my mom used to buy for my siblings and I. The regular kind, not the "deep extra strength (something like that)" kind. They work really well on me. I used them after a hot shower when my pores have opened up. They don't always pull out a ton of blackheads, but sometimes they do. Typically, I use them once a week. The only thing I have to complain about is that these pore strips sometimes rip the skin off the creases and bridge of my nose. It SUCKS and hurts and scabs for the next few days. It doesn't always happen to me, but I can't figure out what I've done prior to those times it did rip my skin off to make it do such a thing. I just try not to exfoliate my face too severely the day I decide to use them; and I also try not to wet my nose too much because it completely soaks the strip, and I think that makes to "glue" on these things attach to my skin more firmly when it dries (I don't know if that makes any sense).
Bottom line: great pore strip and I highly recommend them.
I found that these strips really do work if you follow the directions. They don't grab onto every clogged pore, but they took about 70% of what they covered. For some reason, they don't like to adhere to the ones on the bridge of my nose that well, but are really effective at cleansing the sides and the cheeks. The most important part is putting it on wet skin, not on dry skin - it doesn't work like a piece of tape or bandaid as I've heard some people refer to it. My guess is that whatever is on the strip further dissolves in the water on your skin and in your pores and then solidifies again while still being bonded with the strip (hence the paper-mache-like feeling they describe on the packaging) and then you pull it out. The mail flaw is that the shapes/sizes of the strips, both the original and the ones with the chin ones don't focus on all the other areas where I get visibly clogged pores, such as the middle of the forehead between my eyebrows, the parts of my cheeks the nose strips aren't able to reach, and around the little creases by my nostrils. And what about higher up on the nose or right around the tip?!
I wish this product came either in a standard size you could use wherever you wanted - such as ovals, circles, or squares, or in a sheet that you could cut yourself to suit your needs. I've cut the nose strips into pieces I could use on other parts of my face and they worked great, however there isn't enough surface area on one strip to make it as useful as it could be.
Ultimately, it's one of the easiest and less irritating ways to clean my pores. Since I have very sensitive skin, blackhead-extracting tools and harsh scrubs tend to leave my skin very raw--feeling and inflamed, which is not worth putting up with. With these strips, the affected areas only turn a little bit more pink and only for a few minutes; the redness is gone within minutes of rinsing.
After using these, I do recommend toning your face with something that has pore-tightening effects (witch hazel extract works well while still being gentle and natural), applying moisturizer and refraining from applying make-up for a couple hours. Since the strips physically dislodge the dirt in your pores, I find the pores are left sitting wide open and also dried out. Putting on make-up right after would be counter productive since the skin is like a dry sponge after. An astringent & gentle moisturizer combo would re-hydrate the skin and shrink the pores, making it a better base for foundation.
