I bought this foundation when it first came out...was not a fan of original BE foundation. Not only did this work as makeup, but I really credit it with clearing up my skin too. I used to break out consistently and once I started using this it stopped. I got so many great compliments on my skin. The only reason I didn't give this a 5 was because I do have oily skin and by mid-day I'm shiny again. This past summer, I decided to stop using it since I find in the summer that it is a bit heavy for me (I really prefer just basic powder in the summer) and I wanted to try to find something to keep me matte all day. My pores got huge, my skin broke out, and was uneven. The day I started using this again, my pores were gone! They definitely mean what they say that this reduces pore size. I won't stop using this again...absolutely learned my lesson.
I started using this foundation about a week and a half ago. I got the shade Warm Tan, and it is a dead on match. I get really good coverage with this foundation, but my skin doesn't currently have acne just some light hyperpigmentation. I haven't broken out from foundation at all- but, I think time will tell whether I will break out from it.
I usually use MAC Matchmaster foundation, and I usually get one or two pimples from using it.
To apply, I spray Mac Fix + first, then apply the bare minerals. I usually don't look too powdery, using this routine.
So far, this is a win for me.
This is the first foundation Ive ever used and I continue to repurchase it. It doesn't give as much coverage as a liquid foundation, but that's ok for me because I prefer a more natural look. However, I have very veryyy oily skin. This helps with shine, but eventually the oils from my face will seep through. I don't blame the foundation though; my skin is just very oily and no product I have ever used has completely gotten rid of shine. This doesn't leave my face overly matte. Just right. This gives me a natural, healthy look. I need this in my makeup collection. If you're looking for heavy coverage, this isn't for you.
I like packing the product on my TooFaced Powder Pouf brush, spritzing water on it, and then applying to my face. Beautiful outcome.
Bare minerals gives pretty good coverage. I have super oily skin so even the matte does not keep the shine of my face. I am matte for a little over an hour when you start to see shine on my face. I do like the finish though and it does look very natural and is not cakey.
Initially I was turned off by the negative reviews for this product, but I decided to try it our anyway. I'm glad I did, after using this for a month, it has helped me look flawless and natural. I'm asian with strong yellow undertones and slight redness, the shade Golden Medium is a perfect match. I use this with a kabuki brush over tinted moisturizer so I get that semi-dewy effect that makes me look fresh and young. I've always had problems with oiliness, this product has neither helped nor made it worse which is acceptable. It does wear out after a while though.
Generally I love this because it doesn't break me out and the color selection is great since I always have trouble finding the 'right' yellow for my skin tone. Would definitely purchase again. :)
I've been using this product for about 2 weeks now. All I can say is, I love it. It has a medium coverage which for me is great for an everyday look. After face primer I use my ELF complexion brush to buff this into my skin and then go in with a smaller fluffy brush to apply a second coat to my undereye circles and any blemishes I have. This gives me a great look for everyday. If I want a completely flawless face, I add a bit of NYX HD concealer under this, but I don't ever do this unless I have a big event such as a wedding or a dance. I love this stuff also because it hasn't broken me out and keeps me matte pretty much all day, even when sweating at my fast food job. This is an amazing feat for my teenage, acne prone, oily skin.
As far as the packaging goes, it is excellent. It screws shut making it great for travelling and you have the option of closing off the holes for sifting, also making it so the powder doesn't spill everywhere. It's easy to sift out the exact amount of product you want.
It's pricey for me, being a high school student who buys her own cosmetics, but it's the only high end product I use. I will continue to rebuy and rebuy as I run out, it's pretty much my HG face product!
Medium coverage, buildable, stays put okay, but needs a touch up through the day. My skin clearly likes this foundation though, breakouts decrease and my skin seems all-around more luminous.
I guess it really depends on the person whether or not Bare Minerals works for you. It works completely fine for me, and great for every day looks when I don't want to put on too much. It's a little expensive for the quality, so I will be on the lookout for a nicer powder for less money.
I wear fair and fairly light depending on the season, both in the matte formula. I have extremely oily acne prone skin. I live in south texas so you can imagine the heat AND humidity I deal with!! I love this product!! It really does help control my oiliness and I find that I only have to dust with mineral veil one or two times during the day! It's really all about the way you put it on and the brushes you use! The buffing is the most important step!! I buff until the foundation looks like its a part of my skin and not just sitting on top! I'll go back with the concealer brush and pat on some foundation in places where I produce the most oil such as the T-zone. I use the hand buki and the large kabuki brush. Overall I love the product, it's light, airy and natural! It also really good in that it doesn't transfer like some liquid foundations do, I will continue to repurchase!
Throughout my life, I've struggled with severe ance, discoloration, and both dry ans oily skin. Around 6 years go, I was introduced to Bare Minerals and instantly fell in love, even with blotting throughout the day. My skin was calming down and clearing up.
I decided to try the matte the moment it was released and found it flawless, with buildable coverage, but noticed the shades ran a little darker. I decided to branch out a try different brands for a year, and when i returned to using Bare Minerals, I was shocked that it did not have the same effects on my skin. Wondering if the formula has changed?
