I love the idea, the ingredients, the scent-- but not how it performs and especially not the price. I love LUSH. I'm serious I absolutely love it, but I just can't seem to love this. I've bought the 500ml size before and it didn't last long at all and left my hair feeling a little...lackluster.
The smell is very strong and herbal, which I do love. So that is a huge plus. I like how it perfumes you until you rinse it out and how it leaves the pillows smelling like it. It does clash with any perfume you may use, though. Sometimes I just allow this to be my perfume for the day.
The performance of this product is not good.. literally just like I used Suave shampoo and conditioner together. It leaves it feeling frizzy, knotty and gross. I know it's because there aren't silicones, but there's also conditioners without silicones like v05 which perform leagues better than this and better yet you can get nearly 30 bottles of the v05 for the price of one American Cream.
I won't be buying this again, but I will save it as a sort of leave-in just for the scent.
This is my favorite summertime conditioner. The major con for me is the price ($19.95 for an 8.4 oz bottle). This works well in hot weather for my long, straight, medium-thick hair. I only apply this to the ends of my hair because I have oily roots, and it conditions without making my hair feel heavy. The formula is pretty thin and I notice more volume after using this than I do with "traditional" conditioners. I do need a heavier conditioner in the wintertime. As others have noted, this stuff works best if it has time to soak in for several minutes. I usually leave it on my hair for at least 5 minutes before rinsing. I don't think this would work as well for those with very dry or frizzy hair, unless you use a massive amount of product. I adore the scent and I love how it stays in my hair forever. My significant other, who dislikes many strong, sweet scents (doesn't stop me from wearing them, haha!), loves this too so that's a plus.
Lush claims that this is a thick conditioner. I disagree. The consistency is very thing and water-like. However, I do love how hydrating this is on my dry damaged hair and will repurchase. The smell is not as great as everyone claims it to be.
It smells sorta like vanilla cream to me. To me it doesn't seem like a "heavy" conditioner, it more normal to light. If you have damaged hair or colored or dry I wouldn't recommend this. But if you have healthy hair that doesn't need much this seems to work good. The scent doesn't liger afterwards. And it also makes a good leave in when you need. Little extra love for the hair.
Like its scent. It lasts until my next hair wash. Nothing can remove the scent, hair oil, hair spray, ROTC. And it makes mr hair look great. Love it. Will definitely repurchase.
Ooook ladies.. I love this product, now! When I first tried it, I was so disappointed. I thought it didn't do anything for my hair, but I just didn't realised what ist did! So if you ask me, this product isn't the best when it comes to moisturizing. I mix it with my Moroccanoil conditioner. American Cream just makes my pretty thick hair just so soft and managable, my hair always sits perfectly after blowdrying when I used this conditioner.

This smells so amazing, the scent lingers in my hair for about 8 hours. I use this with Seanik and they make my hair soft and silky. I really love how the packaging is 100% recycled. And this conditioner doesn't way my hair down one bit. I highly recommend this to everyone.

I am a huge fan of Lush and had high hopes for this product, however it has let me down completely. Why I am giving it one lippy is because it smells nice. Other than that, this conditioner does nothing for my hair. It's not moisturizing or conditioning at all. I think I might just return it to the lush store or maybe throw it out. Very disappointing.

I love this conditioner mostly for the smell because it smells so nice! It makes your hair super soft and the smell lingers for a while. My hair is dryish but I wouldn't recommend it for someone with super dry or thick hair because it is very thin and you need a lot of product for one use. It says it a thick heavy conditioner but I disagree with that. It is good if your hair is slightly dry like mine but if not this wouldn't last you long because you need a lot of it. I do find myself buying a new small bottle every month. I still love it and will continue to buy it (:
I recently bought the $19.95 3.8 oz bottle of American Cream to try it out. The smell is delicious - vanilla-y and fruity with a hint of herbs. The conditioner itself is kind of thin for my taste, and I feel like I have to use a decent amount of it to cover my hair adequately. It rinses out easily and makes my hair smell amazing. The best part about American Cream is that it doesn't weigh down your hair, which is a problem for me with most conditioners. It's one of their best conditioners IMO, but there are better conditioners that are more cost effective than American Cream. Personally, it's not worth the price tag.
