Buying cosmetics from Avon is always a gamble and, for me, this is one of those times that it doesn't pay off. I ordered Orchid as in the brochure the shade is a purplish berry, only to find that it applies as a pinkish red berry.
The shade I have was already a letdown, but the fact that the pop of colour in the lipstick is surrounded by a clear gel, means that the colour is diluted when you apply it. I probably wouldn't have minded the iffy shading in the brochure, if the product had applied nicely!
The gel in the lipstick is glossy, so the lipstick isn't drying... But the gloss does mean that the product doesn't last long; within two hours it'll need touching up. The packaging on the product doesn't bother me - in fact the clear lid is good for quickly spotting items in makeup bags.
I have this lipstick in several different colors. I love it! It's very light, which works great for summer. The gloss dispenses just the right amount and lasts a long time. The price is so inexpensive that I can stock up on many colors.

I was very excited when I got it, I can't tell the exact color but it's the girl pink one.
The first couple of days I used it a lot, even though the smell/taste kind of bothered me, it was so different from everything in my collection I just loved showing it around. However after a while I noticed I had to pile a ton to make it show... and it was drying, but I found myself in constant need of lipbalm... and it didn't last all that well. So I came to the conclusion that yes, it caughts your attention on the tube, but not on the lips.
Also the cap just won't stay in! It's a bit anoying because I am afraid of caring it around because it will stain my purse. And because I'm afraid the gel part will melt.
Overall I would not get this again. I will use it now that it's here anyway...
I bought this in Orchid. I'm a little disappointed because it wasn't the color I was expecting. Although, I feel that it's a little hard choosing colors without trying it on. I'm let down by the packaging, it LOOKS cheap. (It kind of is..but..you know, it could look nicer). The color is pretty though, not as vibrant as I wanted but it has a nice color payoff. I feel like it's weird putting it on though. I find that I need to smooth it out with my fingers because the color is concentrated in the middle of the lipstick. I guess I'd buy it again because it's like part chapstick/part lipstick.
I have to say, I like the colors of Shine Attract that I purchased, Guava and Rose Pink. I prefer Guava, however, because it's a bit more neutral than Rose Pink, but both go on very nicely. It does need a couple of reapplies, but the end result for me is worth it!
TERRIBLE. Absolutely TERRIBLE.
When I first got this, I thought it looked pretty cool. I'm used to seeing the mousse lipsticks of Avon, and thought this was new. I figured this must be some sort of matte lipstick with gloss. I got Cherry Pie which is a just bitten red kind of color.
The color is surrounded by this thick, clear, gel that provides the gloss. Which sucks, because when you apply it and you want it all over your lips, you get a glossy shine above your lip line. If you want to try and avoid that, you either need to spread it with your fingers or a lip brush. And that is such a no-no when you're touching up on the go. And what was even more frustrating was that I couldn't complete two hours without having to check myself and touch it up. After half a day, I let it go, and returned to my unbranded lip and cheek stain, which stays on WAY LONGER than that.
This lipstick also taught me what is meant by DRYING. Did Avon advertise this as moisturizing? I'm sorry, but it chapped my lips. After a few minutes of applying, I could feel my lips peeling. Ugh. Will never buy this again. And it is absolutely a WASTE of money.
I couldn't really care less about the packaging, although it looks pretty cheap.
Avon in Australia will be releasing Shine Attract Lipstick (their own version of the 'hybrid' lipstick/gloss) in the 12th campaign this year. The shade I have is Mysterious Mauve and is a heavily pink based purple.
The colour is encapsulated in a clear, gelatinous, fruity scented gloss which provides the shine aspect of the lipstick. The colour can be buildable, but will always contain the sheen and feel of a gloss. I found that lips need to be exfoliated first otherwise the colour will settle into cracks and lines. Shine Attraction also needs to be reapplied during the day to ensure 'shine'.
Worth looking into if you want the rich colour of a lipstick, but prefer the feeling of a gloss.

Firstly, the picture from Avon is very misleadingly photoshopped, it looks like a vivid colour encrusted in a clear crystal cylinder. Wrong, the real product looks nothing like that, the clear gloss part is somewhat dingy yellowish, semi-transparent. To make things worse, the colour part showed up in a narrow strip across the lip, which looks riduclous unless you blend it with the finger or a lipbrush.
Although the postage costs more than the 2 products I purchased from Avon, I did that anyway to make a point.
This got to be the worst-est Avon product I've tried.
Thankfully I got this product for free from ASOS. I wasn't expecting anything and still I was disappointed.
The product is a gimmick. Putting a thick border of gloss around the actual lipstick is just impractical. You just can't really take the lipstick out and put it on, at least not so neatly and effortlessly.
The color is nice and the payoff is good. Well for this lipstick anyway. I don't know the name of the color but it's a red with a pinkish hue.
The smell is okay but the taste is just terrible. It's so chemical and it stays on your mouth forever. Even if this were the most awesome lipstick ever made I would throw it away. The taste is that bad. Also the packaging looks extra cheap. I can't believe Pixiwoo sisters are endorsing this product.

I got a couple of these recently in fuschia and red. I really like them. I knew when I ordered them from my Avon lady (aka mom) that they wouldn't be as opaque as a lipstick but I'm ok with that for a quick bit of color. I honestly really like the scent. I don't know why but I do. It's kinda fruity and doesn't bother me at all. I like that they are not sticky at all and apply easily. Plus, the silver tube is nice as they stand out in my lippie bag.
