this oil does what it says, balancing, also moisturizing, plump and soften the skin. it is more for dry-combo skin or dry congested. if you are very oily or very dry, this is not your cure. i have dry skin and i use this differently. it is a nice face oil, i also use other face oil as well like calendula oil. i use this oil prior washing my dry face. it works great. finally i could deep clean my skin without stripping the oil or getting too dry. cream cleanser doesnt clean that well and even for dry skin, we all need to deep clean time to time, as we could still get congested dry skin. i also use this oil between the jurlique rosewater toner and the jurlique age defying ultra lift moisturizer at times depending on how the skin react and feel which the weather and hormones seem to play major role. the oil is a nice enough but i wouldnt say it is the best face oil out there. you could also use this as face massage oil treatment.
suki face oil are great also, the nourishing, it can clog pores if using too much.

I tried this when I had some problems with a moisturizer and wanted to try something more natural. This didn't give me enough moisture, stayed greasy and my facial skin seemed to react to this: I didn't use it enough to get any pimples, but I did get more redness around my mouth and nose. Gave tis 2 because I think I may be able to use this for body massage. I agree with the reviewer 2 reviews down: a lot of natural essential oils can irritate sensitive skin.
When my skin hit a serious winter-dry-chapped condition, and NOTHING seemed to help, and most products burned my skin, Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil stepped in and saved my skin! I LOVE this stuff - it absorbs quickly and is NOT greasy. Flakes and redness were gone within days. Love it!!
I bought this from sephora.com based on the good reviews. Thought I'd give these ubiquitous face oils a try. But this is WAY too fragranced for my sensitive skin. It's loaded with all the irritating essential oil components like citral, eugenol, benzyl salicylate, geraniol, and I have found that I can't use anything that contains these ingredients. Rather than "balance" my skin, my face became a red, itchy mess while using this. I then tried smoothing this oil just on the ends of my hair, but then my scalp became itchy and little bumps on the nape of my neck cropped up.

I switched to predominantly Jurlique facial products about 8 months ago including this oil, which I use at night and mainly in the cooler months. I don't use it directly on my nose or chin (I tend to be very oily in those areas) unless they are visibly dry. It smells very nice and in the morning my skin is hydrated and glowing. I've even convinced my husband to use it and he probably goes through more than me!
I use this oil, the balancing face wash and blemish cream, and together they've really evened out my skin tone, reduced redness and help me reduce the amount of foundation and concealer I wear.
This is one product I really wished had worked for me. I love the texture of this facial oil.
While this facial oil feels light weight, it caused my skin to break out. I found out it was due to the Safflower oil (which is the first ingredient). I thought safflower oil was non-comedogenic but upon my findings (I had a really really bad break out from this) it can cause this. Now with that being said, everyone reacts to differently to things, and it has worked wonders for a lot of other posters but my skin congests very easily.
The other comment I would like to make is on the scent. While the scent is really nice, it doesn't smell like it's completely natural. I have a feeling there is a synthetic ingredient in there. I could be wrong, but it's just a guess based on the scent.

I bought this a while ago, when my problematic skin was breaking out a bit after a bout of being relatively good. I don't remember how much it was, and I used a coupon, but it was quite expensive. I don't think I usually would have bought it, especially at the time since I was quite broke, but I was really distressed by the breakout I was having and also by how sensitive and almost painful my skin had become. I have problematic and scarred skin but at the time it had improved a bit and become more balanced.I had read all the good reviews and was expecting it to help clear and balance my oily but dehydrated skin. When I first used it, I was pleased--I loved the smell and it felt luxurious. I went to bed.
The next day, all hell had broken loose. My pimples had worsened and my skin felt very sensitive. I kept using it and I developed really nasty cystic acne and my skin was super super sensitive and painful, while stile quite oily. I refused to believe the culprit was the Jurlique oil and switched all my skincare back to Cetaphil, and still I was getting these pimples. I was so upset. My skin was really shot to sh*t. My skin was in a relatively good place, but really didn't recover from using this oil for a long time--the pimples took about a month to fade, but the hypersensitivity to the point of pain hasn't quite gone yet.
I think I must be allergic to some ingredient in the Jurlique oil, causing a reaction that even though it has long faded, still has my skin worse than before. Also, it's a good example of how "natural" ingredients can still be really terrible for you.
If this works for you, great. But it really didn't for me and I'd suggest being quite careful with it.

Even though I said I would buy this product again, I am 50/50.
I have sensitive, acne-prone skin and have been told not to put oils on my acne skin. This product neither improved nor made worse my acne.
Pros
- My skin did not have a harsh reaction to it
- Found that it worked well, almost like a serum, before putting on my face cream
- Lasts a long time, which can be attributed to....
- ....Great dispenser that allows only a small amount of the product to be put on the face. Even though the instructions said that about 3 drops would be fine for the entire face, I ended up using a LOT more than that. Probably about 8 drops.
Cons
- A bit expensive
- Didn't really see any results. Didn't do anything, positive or negative towards improving my skin.
- Was not as moisturizing as I thought it would be. But wasn't drying either.

This is one of those face oils which is actually better suited for balancing oilier complexions. My skin is more normal to dry, and this dried it out even more! It didn't matter what moisturizer I applied on top of it, my skin felt parched and raw by midday. I feel the formula is too astringent. It's too bad, since I really loved the herbal aroma this gave off.
