this is a nice scent, but when I first put it on I think it smells like a combination of PineSol and citronella candles. after a few minutes it calms down and smells like a nice clean scent. I keep it in my purse just in case I forget to put on perfume before leaving the house. it also works great for traveling. No 3-1-1 baggies needed for this product!

This is such an odd scent, and is so different on each person based on their own chemistry, you'd have to try this one before you buy.

For me, the scent on my skin is very different than if you were to hold the tube of solid scent up to your nose. It starts off with a hit of mostly patchouli and some orange. In my mind, that's the 'dirty hippie' phase. But within an hour, it's toned down and all the other notes start coming out to play. By the end of the day, I'll get a whiff of a subtle, sophisticated blend of notes on my scarf or clothes, and it smells completely different from what I put on that morning. I usually end up looking around for the source of the yummy scent, and then I realize it's coming from me!

My two pet peeves with the solid tube scent: The fact that once I push the darn thing up with too much force, I can't get it to back down into the tube, and the orange stain on my skin when I apply directly from the tube.
I avoid the orange stain by rubbing my finger over the stick and getting a good bit of the melted product on it, then applying to my pulse points.

Just try this one, and even if you don't like it right away, give it some time to mellow on your skin and you might be surprised by it!

I loved the soap version of this so was excited to see the perfume form and it was so inexpensive I picked it up straight away! Unfortunately I didn't enjoy it for a couple of reasons. Firstly that it just smells like coca cola on my skin and secondly it stains my skin orange. So, that's a shame!

This fragrance seem to smell and work a bit different to everyone.

For me, it starts out really.. orange - the colour, not the fruit. It's bright, citrusy, slightly leaf-y, carbonated goodness. After twenty minutes or so, it dries to a very musty, soft (guessing this is the patchouli note), creamsicle kind of smell - like moss and earth combined with whipped cream and vanilla with a hint of synthetic orange. It's a nice smell, something that's less a fragrance and more a scent. Because it's so unique, and changes based on your chemistry, I can see it being something some one smells on you, and associates it with you. It's the kind of scent an ex or former co-worker could smell years later, and instantly think of you - your own personal scent trigger!

The lady who helped me suggest that I pick up some other solids, and mix it with Karma. We tried Karma/Orange Blossom (which was lovely and gentle. Orange Blossom takes the edge off Karma, makes it more fresh than musty) and Karma/Dirty (it was minty and citrusy and sharp and sweet. Also great). I think this is a great idea! The possibilities are endless :)

The packaging I can see being a problem at some point, but it seems to work fine for now.

Overall, a really great product. I can't wait to purchase some more Lush solid perfumes and see what I can concoct :)

I really like this scent, but it doesn't last a huge amount of time. I don't like the red colour it leaves on my skin. The packaging is pretty poor. It is hard to push up just how much you need, and then I have ended up with the top breaking off in the lid.
I would buy it again though.

This is a review for the solid perfume in the black tube plastic tube.

This is a love it/hate it kinda fragrance. and I love it! It smells sweet and earthy to me. My signature scent.

The only thing I would like to see is if this product came in a twisty-tube like lipchap!! Currently you need to push it up from the bottom and if you overlaunch that you can't push it back down :(

As my grandmother suggests, I like to dab a bit on the inside of my wrists and behind the ears. Grandma is a silver fox.

this is one of those fragrances you either love or hate. at first, it smelled to me like coca cola, but then i realized it's more lemongrassy, with some pine and citrus, it reminds me a bit of the smell of a christmas tree...with more citrus. i had an indian friend say that the scent smelled very similar to the incense they burn in temples. what i love about solid perfumes is that the smell doesn't get everywhere like with spritzing. after it melts on your skin, the fragrance turns warmer, like piney orange. the only thing is that the it fades in an hour or so, so if you want something long lasting, i really wouldn't get the solid form. also, the smell is pretty subtle, not overpowering.

Lush's practice of offering their entire perfume line in solid versions is pure genius, and I wish more fragrance companies would follow suit. What a fragrance loses in solid form - projection, longevity, and euphoric, nose-tingling top notes - it makes up for in sheer ease of use, portability, and cost-effectiveness, and Lush's solids have the added benefit of being 100% true to the spray versions in terms of scent. You could buy solids of the entire Gorilla Perfume line and have enough fragrance to last for eons without breaking the bank. They're a great way to "live" with a perfume for a while before deciding to upgrade to the full-size spray if you so choose. I'm sold on solids!

Anyway. Karma is an open-armed, giddy blast of sweet orange, pine, lavender, incense, and patchouli, bursting with bohemian joie-de-vivre and utterly charming in spite of its raw, distinctive character. I used to loathe Karma, and my first few trips to a Lush store left me wondering why anyone would want to smell of the stuff, let alone wash, moisturize, and shampoo with it. My mercurial tastes being what they are, I've recently come around to Karma and am now completely smitten. It puts a smile on my face, and its outdoorsy, sweet/earthy character is a perfect accompaniment to those sunny summer days when the sky seems to want to swallow the earth. I find it a little fresh and herbal to wear comfortably in the winter, when I want something a little more sedate and soothing, but in wamer weather Karma really comes into its own. It's more complex than it might seem at first sniff, and it never smells exactly the same on me from day-to-day. If I could sum it up in a blurb, it would be "orange creamsicle in a forest". Sweet, citrusy, yet green and sharp, with a delicious patchouli and lavender undercurrent. It's not a scent for everyone, but even its haters would probably concur that there is nothing else like it.

The Karma solid is slightly more relaxed and easier to wear than the spray version, due to its lower concentration of fragrance oils. The longevity on me is okay, not spectacular - a few hours before I have to put my nose right up against my wrist to smell even a faint whiff. (The spray version lasts longer, but it's not nuclear by any means.) The packaging for the solid is a push-up tube, so when you screw the cap back on the solid gets pushed back down. Be gentle with it so the solid won't get squished or broken apart. The scent, as described above, is almost identical to the spray version - less intense, and with slightly less of the soapy lavender/pine bite of the spray, but otherwise the same.

This is a review for the solid perfume in the black tube packaging. I generally like citrus scented fragrances, but this is an odd combination to me. It starts off smelling sweet, then turns into a woodsy earthy scent. It smells rather weird and doesn't work with my skin chemistry. A good thing about solid perfumes is that they last a bit longer on the skin.

The SA swatched if for me at the counter on my hand and I just loved it. When I arrived home and smelled my hand however, all traces of orange were gone and only patchouli stuck around. Completely turned off by this, I returned my unopened product the next day. Unless you are really satisfied with hippy-incense type scents, avoid this.
