1) you can scratch this eyeliner off with just your nails 2) the brush made it a little hard to apply. 3) the color was good. 4) it doesnt stay for long, and if you sweat or if your walking in the rain its gonna flake off
I have been using this for many years, but that does not mean I like this! Its complicated, I guess I was just lazy to try anything else so I kept buying this. I have much to say on this.
Flake disaster. It applies and dries to like a rubbery, latex finish material and comes off very easily in flakes and even worse, strips!!!!! Any stretch of the skin, touch, blinking throughout the day, or nothing, its cracking and everywhere. Its beautiful for a short moment. It IS waterproof though, but it will flake off before you have a chance to battle any water/moisture. Not very good for layering either, becomes easily thick, and more prone to flake off.
The colors are very nice. Black is super dark. I really like the browns from this. The applicator is thin, flexible, like a small pointy paintbrush, and oh so easy to make flicks, wings. Now that I think about it, that is why I kept buying it! I'm a horrible artist, I cannot make wings or cat eyes if my life depended on it, but I love the look! Its a good day if I get it near perfect. This can get me that shape I want.
The price is so ridiculously cheap its a steal! And it lasts forever! The quantity and the formula is just never ending. The one I have now.....wow....when did I buy that....I seriously cannot remember but Im sure a year ago, could be longer! I'll never know.
So the only bad thing is the formula, the wear of it. That's it really. As much as I have been very faithful to this, Im ready for new and better wearing eyeliners!
I love this eyeliner. Actually received it in a giveaway bag. First - about the cracking. If you apply this over powder or powder eyeshadow, yes it will not stick as well. Otherwise, it is ON THERE. Good for superfine lines or fat ones.
I have only ever had problems with it after rubbing eyes by accident, then pieces might flake off. This product - i teach multiple aerobics classes in a row and it does NOT MOVE. Huge thumbs-up.
P .S. I guess there might be "better" ones on the market but i am not sensitive or allergic to this one at all (a frequent problem), so i haven't looked for anything else.
I love this eyeliner! I keep coming back to it. It's 1 of my fave DS waterproof eyeliner. It really does stay put where it's supposed to. I buy black. I like the brush too, but I agree it's probably going to be difficult to work the brush for beginners to liquid eyeliner. All in all, I like Essence waterproof liquid black eyeliner a bit better (it has a nicer brush, stays put better, & cheaper), but they only sell that at ULTA around my region whereas the Maybelline is more widely available for me sold at nearly every DS or grocery practically.
My favorite eyeliner ever, I wear fairly large winged eyeliner every day and this is my savior. I've seen some people complain that it cracks after awhile, and yes it does but I've only noticed after 12+ hours of wearing. Definitely recommend!
I bought this liner in dark brown. First off I do like the way this product goes on. It is highly pigmented and very smooth and despite what some people seemed to experience, the brush (as opposed to marker tip) was pretty easy to use. However, that is where the good ended for me. The second I made any sort of facial expression with my eyes, it cracked. Badly. Despite the claim it is not, in my opinion, waterproof. It is very crumbly and came off with just a little water and rubbing. Also, when applying, you have to be extremely careful to not get any on your eyelashes because it is fairly runny and really sticks and makes them clumpy. I had to wipe off my eyelashes before applying my mascara. Overall, yuck. I will not buy again.
This is my holy grail liquid liner for everyday use. Its perfect for my fellow oily girls, you can wear this on its own or on top of primer and eyeshadow. This is the only liquid eyeliner that doesn't crease or run (since I do a pretty thick winged eye liner everyday). The bush takes a little practice to get the hang of but once you figure it out its a breeze.
Since this formula is waterproof if it does flake but its very minor and only happens when you are rubbing your eyes, I would rather have an eyeliner flake than smear all over my eyes. The pigmentation is very black and sets very quickly so you have to work fast. It also lasts a long time which I love.
Overall, its the best liquid liner i've ever used and i recommend everyone to use it too! Give it it a try you won't regret
The ONLY liquid eyeliner I will EVER use! I love this stuff, it's the only liquid eyeliner I have found that actually stays on, doesn't clump, and is easy to apply. It takes a little practice for anyone to use liquid eyeliner but it's easier than some of the other products out there. I have been using this for 5 years, and I will cry if they ever discontinue this.
Eyeliner is an individualized decision. Felt tip, brush, crayon, etc.? Out of habit, I always thought I preferred a brush, but at this point I don't think I mind how the formula comes as long as the quality is good. I find with felt tips, the bottle/tube will dry out quickly.
This particular product lasts a very long time, even with every day use. Which is why I added a lippie. I love the brush, the length of the brush/handle. However, all of these things as useless if the formula sucks.
The color is definitely black (not a vague greyish-black). But it is crumbly/flakey. It's noticeable after a few hours of wear and definitely when you're attempting to remove it. Think of what it's like to remove false lashes, it's basically a strip you peel off your lashes, right? That's what it's like to remove this eyeliner. You can practically peel it off. Not good. I've found this product is best used when creating a line first with a pencil and then going over it for pigment purposes with this liner. That's silly to have to use two separate products. Anyway, I don't think I'll be repurchasing. I think I'd just stick with pencil if I had to. Right now I'm working on Revlon Color Stay, which is a step up...
I've been using this liner for a few years now. I guess I kept buying it out of habit but I think it's time I stop and try something else. It comes with a brush (as opposed to the felt tip most liners have) - It took me a lot of practice to make my line look straight but I've mastered it now. In the beginning I kept smearing it all over the place but I got used to it.
- It's cheap
-Lasts quite a while
- If you mess up, wait a few seconds and you can literally wipe it off (cleanly).
-Easy to remove
-Huge color payoff - very pigmented
- Clumps easily (not sure if they all do that, though)
-Stings if it comes in contact with your eyes
-It rubs off SO easily - if your eyes water, it goes with it.
-Doesn't last very long - like I said above, it wipes off very easily. This is the most annoying part for me because if I let anything come in contact with my liner it'll rub off instantly.
-It says it's waterproof but it's not. If you dipped your head in water and let your face air dry it'd probably stay but if you let anything touch it it'll instantly rub off.
Again, it's not bad..I just think it's time for a change.
