I live in south Florida (hot & humid) and my face is combination, acne-prone, and sensitive. Before trying this product in conjunction with the aveeno clear complexion daily moisturizer, I was using a wash from my dermatologist that had a low percentage of salicylic & glycolic acids with an "ultra light moisturizer." I was unhappy so I bought the cream cleanser and moisturizer at the same time (check out my review for the moisturizer if interested).
I am very happy with this cream cleanser. Because both the cleanser and the moisturizer contain salicylic acid, I figured it would be a little drying on my skin so I chose the cream cleanser over the foaming version (foaming tends to be dryer and more harsh fyi). This cleanser is great because it has small exfoliating beads that are gentle enough to use every day. The combination of exfoliators and salicylic acid has been great for clearing my skin up (I used to use a scrub every few days with my old cleanser). This product in combination with the moisturizer has been drying to my lips because of the increase in salicylic acid I'm putting on my face, but my face's oils are managed and even -- no oily spots, no dry spots. After I wash my face and before my moisturizer, my skin is not super tight like it stripped all the oils out; it just feels balanced. Overall, I would give this 4.5 lippies because of the dry lips side effect.

I'm a big fan of Aveeno Moisturizers, so I had desperately high hopes for this product. First, the scent is not the best. It smells like an artificially fresh fragrance, and it's much stronger than I expected. As an exfoliant, it also disappoints. The microbeads aren't too harsh (which tends to be a problem with the exfoliating washes I try), but there aren't enough to make my skin feel like it's gotten a good scrub. Also, it's terrible as a makeup remover, and all I wear is concealer & mascara. I'm almost through the entire bottle, but that's only because I didn't want to waste such an expensive drugstore product. On a more positive note, it didn't cause any breakouts, but I didn't help the ones I already had, either.

I have clinically dry and allergic contact dermatitis. As far as my face goes, my t-zone is prone to flaking and small zits/clogged pores (at the same time!). I have found that Aveeno products work better than any other brand for my skin. So when Clean & Clear discontinued my tried and true face wash, I thought I would try this.

I didn't use this product every day because my skin is too sensitive to be exposed to the acid in this on a daily basis. I used it once or twice per week. At first, it worked great. Cleared up any blemishes without drying me out.

After a month or two, I started to have some really bad issues with my skin. My entire t-zone was INCREDIBLY dry. My skin was flaking. I would use body lotion on the dry spots, only to have them be even drier the next morning. Worst of all - my blemishes were back, too! After a few tearful, frustrated weeks, I decided to ditch the face wash. Lo and behold, my skin improved three-fold.

I was extremely disappointed with this product. I wanted to like it because I like the rest of Aveeno's product line, but I just couldn't. This is a product that is advertised as being ideal for dry skin, and I used it sparingly, and it still dried me out to the point of tears I was so embarrassed about my skin. Not a product I would recommend to anyone else.

My skin has changed quite a lot with age and I'm finding that it's more sensitive - it'll get blotchy and red and dry with AHA and other various ingredients. I unfortunately still break out though and my T zone can get really oily depending on what I use. So now my HG skincare routine involves this cream cleanser (moisturizing, mild and has salicylic acid) and the Clear Complexion cream. My skin now doesn't break out as much and blemishes heal pretty quickly and my skin is more soft and dewy.

Update - I found that my nose would still occasionally get black-heads and I would still get some pimples using the Aveeno Clear products (so I removed a Lippie). I am now using Clarins Cottonseed cleanser with the Lotus oil and my skin has never been better!

I think Aveeno makes really good cleansers, and this is certainly one of them. I use this every evening after taking my make-up off. This is perfect for those who are break-out prone, yet also have dry skin. In fact, I believe Aveeno even says this is good for dry-skinned people who also want to clear their skin. This is important to me because every other acne-treated cleansers tend to dry me out.

I love the beads in this. I love the smell. I am using other things that I believe helped to clear my acne, but this certainly did not make it worse. Like I said, I only use this at night because my skin can start to get dry if I use this in the mornings (I use Aveeno ultra-calming foaming cleanser for the a.m.). I will buy this forever.

UPDATE: I no longer use this. I noticed this does not take my make-up off very well. Even though I had also pre-cleansed, I still had make-up left on the cotton pad when I would use my toner. This would be good for the morning. I have switched to the Biore pore unclogging scrub to use at night instead and really love it.

I really like this cleaner and i use it a few times a week. it is very soothing on my acne prone skin and it doesn't dry my skin out like other acne products out there.

this is probably the best facewash ive use, this facewash gets rid of my pimples, it takes awhile, but it will be well worth it, the last face wash i used with the go 360 acne pron, i would get tons of small pimples, but for this one i dont, im starting to get healthy skin now, and im so please, well worth it.

So I had just had a horrible reaction to a Neutrogena acne wash and I was looking for something to help with my breakouts and also kinda calm my skin down. I ended up not using ANY skin care products for a couple days so my skin could recover from the Neutrogena incident. After about a week I was in Walmart and saw the Aveeno Clear Complexion Cream Cleanser. I had used Aveeno before when I went on vacation and stayed at my aunts house. She had a couple products in the guest bathroom and I used them and loved them! So I figured why not give it a try. It has 2% Salicylic acid but the rest of the ingredients were very natural and didn't seem to have any crazy chemicals in it. I also bought the corresponding moisturizer (I wrote a review on that as well). It cost about 7-8 dollars which is reasonable for the amount you get and the nice packaging. I used it the night I bought it and WOW. It helped heal my skin from the Neutrogena reaction but ALSO helped clear out my breakouts! It moisturized the areas that were dry and flaky but also controlled the oil in my oily spots! It completely balanced out my skin and made it look so fresh and healthy! I still use it and it's my go to every day cleanser. I use it both morning and night. I love the smell! It doesn't smell strong or like it has heavy chemicals in it. It smells very fresh. I love the texture, it's very creamy but also has these little green microbeads that wash away the dead skin without over drying my skin. The beads aren't rough like the St. Ives apricot scrub but it's still enough to exfoliate a little bit. It leaves my skin very soft and smooth. One thing I will say that might bother people is that after I rinse it leaves kind of a waxy feeling on my skin but nothing major. Definitely doesn't keep me from using it. Goes away after you dry your face. I love the packaging, I like the squeeze tube, it doesn't get messy or leak out anywhere. It lasts me a long time because you don't need much to get a good lather on your face. I would DEFINITELY recommend this to people who are looking for something to keep their skin clear but don't want anything too harsh. It's strong in the sense that it does the job at getting rid of my breakouts but it's not strong in the sense that it would irritate my skin. I haven't had any issues with it whatsoever. I love Aveeno and this is one of my favorite skin care products of all time! :)

I love this cleanser! I finally found a cleanser that works. I use this every morning and night and i dont feel oily after. It doesnt make my face shiny and it feels really nice on my skin. i have been using this for only 1 week and my skin feels softer, smoother and clearer! I will be buying this again when i run out! If you have like bumps under your skin and maybe a couple pimples / like i do - buy this and you will see GREAT results!
