New York is the steel grey shade in Alima's Fall 2007 Fashion Week set. Although it was the shade I was the least excited about in the set initially, it turns out to be a high quality and very versatile eyeshadow. It looks quite glittery in the jar but I don't detect any glitter at all once it is on my lids. On me, New York shows up as a medium-to-dark steely charcoal with just a tinge of blue. It can be used dry for a satiny sheen or wet for a more metallic look. Since I am a PPP with dark undereye circles, greys and blues can be a bit tricky as an all-over lid color since the wrong shade can make me look ill. New York is flattering as both a liner and by itself as a smokey eye. I found this eyeshadow very easy to blend (surprising for such a dark shade) and it is quite richly pigmented. The lasting power is also excellent over UDPP. Definitely worth a look if you like dark charcoal/steel blue shades.
