By nature I am a sceptic when it comes to any claims made by skincare products. I used this last year on two sun spots. It helped; did not get rid of them, but lightened them sufficiently to get me hooked on Kinerase (which is a problem because of how expensive it is). It could be because my initial expectations were so low, but this product worked better than any other product of similar nature that I have tried.

I wish I could like this stuff... I normally love products with light-reflecting particles, but the ones in this serum, for some reason, don't make my skin glow or look brighter, they make my skin look shiny. It is so strange, because this serum leaves my skin feeling dry, but looking oily. It also stinks. It may work, but I can't bring myself to use it often enough to find out. It makes my skin feel dirty, and I just can't stand having it on my face.

I like this a lot, I use it in the morning and evening and after a few weeks I can notice a difference in some of my darker marks fading away. It is very expensive, but I purchased for about 60% less at Overstock.com. I also like that I can use this around the eye area too. It serves as a nice skin treatment before a moisturizer. I have also used alone with translucent powder for the day with good results.

Update 7/21/2010: Still using the same bottle from my original Overstock purchase. The results are so good, it made me try other products in the line. I will continue to use this. It is just wonderful. Even my best friend has noticed my skin IS brighter, smoother, and a more even complexion. I know for a fact at least two acne scars have faded about 85% over the course of two weeks using this. And it brightens my eye area.

I bought this after Kinerase sent a sample of both products in a recent order. I read the reviews first before diving in and purchasing - but I have not regretted it at all.

A little goes along way - and it does have a strange smell (almost like an alcohol scent) and I agree, it is a tad drying once it dries....but the directions do say to add a moisturizer once this has dried.

I noticed just with the sample that my skin was more even toned and glowing - and that is enough to make me purchase again! The pearl extract is so minimal and really doesn't look like glitter. I do see it on my hands when I spread it across my face, but I have to look in the light pretty hard. I will repurchase once my bottle is gone, but from the looks of it - it is going to be a LONG time before I need to repurchase!

Was surprised at how this product has gone unnoticed by MUA readers.I ordered this online after some research into relatively safer skin brighteners led me to this product.I dont care at all for the pearly finish I have to say and dont see the point of it from an aesthetic perspective but the product works.I use the main bottle of serum all over my face after my cleansing routine at night and follow it with the wand wherever I have extra dark blotches.I noticed a definite lightening of skin. There is a slightly dry feel to the skin in the morning but that can always be remedied by moisturizer.I have used Lancome skin brightener level 3 for years and kiehl's spot corrector as well with very little impact on the persistent dark areas. But have noticed quite a difference with this one.I even ordered again after my first impressive week with this product. Will update after I finish my first.

Test this first. Its extremely expensive. It has glitter - while it claims to be a brightener. I don't know if it really brightens skin over time - I couldn't get past the glitter. I am not referring to the crushed pearls (I' ve used products with pearls before and when done right, you do get an interesting luster) its more about 'light reflecting' particles. This product is a banner child for marketing abuse - the name of the product, the fact that you get an extra strong dose in a little vial with even more glitter and you pay through the roof for it. You'd be better off with a little concealer on those dark spots and a decent anti-aging cream. Unless, of course, you intend to go to a disco party everyday.

From the other reviews posted here, I was hoping that I would like this product. The brightening serum does contain a pearl extract but as soon as you wash it off, there's no longer any brightening properties. Save you money and your time for something else. Fortunately, I had kept my receipt and was able to get a full refund. For something that costs this much, I want a product that delivers. I tried this for 2 months before I returned it.

I love Kinerase and this product is no exception! It does not irritate my super sensitive skin and I am seeing great results. I use the serum during the day and the pro+therapy c6 peptide with the stick on the sunspots at night- the serum is a pearly white that really brightens my skin. I know the line is expensive but I love the fact my skin does not burn or turn red afterwards with any of their products- my skin is glowy and looks so wonderful!!!
update: this actually did end up bothering my skin and I swapped it away...sorry Kinerase

I love this product! I got such a beautiful healthy glow after using it. I recieved a generous sample of the product and I will be buying a full size in the near future.

This is a great brightening product if you are experiencing lack luster skin, or are acneprone and want to get rid of acne scars. This has 7 different botanical brightening compounds in it, and it comes with a spot wand to treat extra places. This system works, but... I find I like to use the serum in the am only, just so it lasts longer and I get the extra luminesnce fro the pearl extract. I use the wand at night for spots. Now be careful with the wand, it tends to break easily. Now the only reason I say I won't repurchase is because the redness in my skin had gone away, but I tend to battle bigger boys (cystic acne). Now while this doesn't hassle my skin in the slightest, I just don't like using a lot of product on my face at once. Now, when my acne decides to go away or calm down, then I'll go back to it, but until then, I'll stick to my blemish serum and clear moisture light. PS - makes an awesome makeup base. :)
