Bone is hands down my favorite matte base cream shadow. It is the perfect neutral color for my light skin tone (NW15), it evens out my lids and creates the perfect canvas for any cream or powder shadow that I apply afterwards and it also looks great on its own on low key days like the weekend. One very important note on the shade description: Bone Cream Eye shadow, when it was first launched was a warm toned cream color with a distinct yellow note. Needless to say, for my skin tone that "old" Bone did not work, the yellow was just too obvious. Shortly after Bone initially came out a shade called Navajo Cream Eye Shadow was launched which was a neutral offwhite with a very subtle pinkish undertone. Navajo was perfect for my skin tone, and I was devastated when I wanted to reorder Navajo from the BB website, only to find out that Navajo had been discontinued! I went to my BB counter at Nordstrom to see if they had any Navajo left and the SA confirmed that the name Navajo was indeed changed - and this lovely lady made my day by telling me that Najavo is in fact still around, but in disguise, because it is now called Bone - go figure. I would have never guessed, but I took her word for it, tried the "new" Bone and she is absolutely right: This "new" Bone is in fact my beloved Navajo, so all is good :)
I am not a big fan of the packaging of the Longwear Eye Shadows, as it is hard to get to the rest of the product once you reach the halfway mark, but I am willing to put up with it since this is such an excellent staple product for me. Retails for $24.
I will repurchase this product again and again, because it is almost impossible to find a cream shadow that is matte. All the rest have glimmer, sparkle or metallic in it. It is nice to find something subtle and different. This color brightens the eye area and helps cover dark circles. I use this as a primer also. For those like me who find soft ochre from MAC a little to dark, this is the lighter version. Excellent quality, elegant but heavy packaging, expensive but worth it. Took off one star for price and packaging. I recommend this basic cream shadow!
This is the best cream eyeshadow that I have ever used. I use it as an eye primer and like it better than any other primer. I have used quite a few primers (Urban Decay, Bare Escentuals, MAC Paint Pot etc) and this one tops all of them. It brightens the eye and makes your shadow much more vibrant. It also lasts all day. Love it.

Great neutral shade for my nw15 skin. Perfect base for other shadows. I use this instead of a primer. Doesn't crease and lasts a long time. I apply with my finger, which is a little awkward due to the shape of the pot. Otherwise I love it!

I think it's the best cream eyeshadow, I almost use it every day because its the perfect base, makes your powder eyeshadows stay for all day long and the color it's beautiful works perfect for day or night. it's a must in my makeup!!
I bought this eyeshadow after some magazine reviews suggested it was a great shade to help you look more awake (something I desperately need as a mum). I have very fair, dry, sensitive skin and my eyelids are quite red and often a bit flaky. This eyeshadow is perfect for me. It doesn't irritate or sting and a little bit goes a long way. It doesn't 'catch' on the flakes and the colour really takes away the redness giving a much more even skin tone. I wear it on its own or as a great base. (I really like to wear it under 'candelight'.) Plus, it really does make me look fresh and awake - great for when I've been up all night with the kids but don't want to look like it!

I have several of these cream shadows and I think they're great. But I've always stayed away from this one, fearing it'd be too white and pasty, like Navajo, even though i love the powder version. Well the good news is, this is even better! With nothing else but mascara, It gives me a very glam and finished but natural look that brightens my eyes and highlights my lashes. I am sold.

This is one of the most brilliant products I have ever used. Although it is a cream eyeshadow I use it as a base to put on my eyemakeup. I have tried all kinds of primers in the past and nothing even begins to compare with it. The colour is great for me as I am fair, but I am sure it would suit medium skins as well. It holds makeup all day and although it is a firm coat it does not dry out the eyes at all. I apply by my finger as I find it easier than a brush. It is so brilliant I am off to buy some other colours in it.

This is my boo. HG, staple, genius invention. It's light, my skin is fair, and this is the most perfect light shade for. I wish I found this exact same one in foundation and concealer. It's perfectly neutral, I wear it by itself, never tried to used any other shadow on top, so don't know how it is as a primer, but worn alone doesn't crease and doesn't fade on me (my lids are not that oily though). Not drying and doesn't feel heavy, like some cream shadows can. Very pigmented, have had the same pot for a couple of years, haven't made a dent (and it hasn't dried out or spoiled either; i apply it with a finger, but then lightly go over the top of the product in the pot with a clean tissue to remove the germs, I do it with my cream blushes too). My go to look is Bone on the lid, concealer under the eye, dark brown mascara, and sometimes I tight-line with BB Sepia gel liner (which I also have had for years and it's still good), and voila, clean, polished 'no make up' look.
The quality is OK but I think I chose the wrong color.
Since it is so pale, I can only use it as a primer for my eyes and I already have eyeshadow primers that look almost the same as bone.
I chose this color because it was a "bestseller" on the Bobbi Brown website and I figured there must have been a good reason ...there isn't!!!
Buy a different color if you have eyeshadow primer.
