They changed it. It wasn't great, but it din't break me out and was fine, though not wonderful. As everything was breaking me out, I decided to try it again. It was crazy thick, even by spf standards. So it's very greasy and I usually tolerate a lot of grease. They added retinol, which might be good, but is very drying. So I ened up with a greasy, heavy, drying cream with a cloying smell (like roses but is not fragrance). My faced really started to burn.

I don't mind the formula, although I'm certainly not crazy about it either. It sort of sits on my skin, is very slippery and did not really moisturise it either. Just left it super shiny and not much else. I did not think it penetrated the skin at all. It's not creamy, it's what I would term greasy. But my main gripe about this cream is that it STUNG my eyes like crazy - had to remove it. For the 2nd application I kept it well away from my eyes, but it still affected them :( ... it may very well be the SPF in it as I am senstive to that, but still, this cream basically unusable for me. How can one use a face cream and keep it completely away from the eyes all day? Impossible and therefore useless for me. I have not had the chance to apply makeup over this as yet, so can't honestly comment on it, but I imagine it would slip & slide right off it. I'm quite disappointed in Clinique creams recently, as this is the 2nd cream of theirs of late that has been a great waste of money for me. I'm making this review in behalf of my mum (in her mid 50s). Her skin is the whole year pretty dry, sensitive and she also has several capillaries that she removes many times with laser.

Anyway, this is the only thing she has been using for 15 years and her skin is marvellous! I mean no retinoids, no acids, just Clinique wash, Estee Lauder toner and this cream (night and day cream). Only in summer she tries to use night version of this cream + better protection (like City Block).

She adores Repairwear line that she tried to use Repairwear foundation, but with not so much success (but that is a different story:-))

Anyway, both creams (day and night) have great ingredients (also both have retinol!), but they are jar packaged so we actually don't know how long those ingredients stay fresh.

All in all - I give it 4 for price (these creams are in Europe 100€!) and 4 for jar packaging.

But otherwise I would (and she would) suggest all dry skinned people to try it out! Hope it would be your HG as well:-)

Flaked/pilled when tried to put concealer on. Also after two days use broke me out in rash like spots and have been clear for months.

Back to Superdefense for me, never had problems with that.

This is probably the worst day moisturizer I've ever used. I've been using the regular Repairwear Day for Dry-to-Very-Dry-Skin for years and love it. When this version came out, I thought well, I'll give it a try. MISTAKE! First, the cream comes in a double-walled jar like Clinique's Superdefense. On this jar, the opening from which you remove the cream is smaller than the mouth of the jar itself, which is very messy. The cream itself is white, has a faintly disagreeable smell, and is very heavy. I mean HEAVY. Greasy heavy. It never absorbed into my skin, which is a problem I never had with the other formulation. My face always fely tacky, which made applying primer and foundation a problem. Now, after two weeks of use, my skin is a mess. I have dry patches, flaky patches, whiteheads, and bumps under my skin. And, of course, the cream didn't firm or lift a thing. I'm terribly disappointed in this and will be going back to the original formulation ASAP. Boo to you, Clinique, for trying to capitalize further on the Repairwear name with this lousy product. Wholeheartedly not recommended.
