Of all the Trilogy products I have tried this is probably my least favourite. The consistency of the gel is fairly thin and runny and that, combined with the design of the packaging, (a pump dispenser would be so much better) means that it's very hard to control how much product comes out each time. The smell is lovely but because the gel is so thin it was hard to get the product to foam up at all - until I used it with my Clarisonic, at which point it became a bit easier.

I love the Trilogy range as a whole and the products combined have definitely helped improve my skin, however hand on heart I'd have to say that I wouldn't buy THIS particular product again if I didn't own the Clarisonic to use it with. Truthfully it's just too runny, thin and non foaming to be a favourite with me, but it's hard to complain too much about non foaming products when the company go out of their way NOT to use SLS and the like. I guess there have to be some compromises along the way to all natural beauty.

At the time I received this Trilogy Balancing Gel Cleanser as a GVP I was experiencing a reaction to a highly emollient sunscreen, it had left my usually normal skin with nasty whiteheads around the underside of my mouth and a few cystic pimples on my chin.

I have to say that I am glad I stuck this one out as it left my skin clear after it broke me out. The gel unclogged my chin so well that I had many spots pop up. I kept using it anyway and found that after a week my skin was back to normal. I don't recommend using this as an everyday cleanser unless you have very oil skin as during use my cheeks had become very dry and sensitive. I remedied the dryness by using a split capsule of evening primrose oil, patting it gently on my face at night.

Pros:
Is balancing for break-outs.
Smells gorgeous.
Natural ingredients.

Cons:
Awful packaging, needs a pump, lose to much product.
Needs to be used in the shower as it is runny.
Breaks the skin out before balancing it (perfect for a weekend in).
Dries skin if overused and may irritate sensitive skin types.

Conclusion:
Not an everyday cleanser, should be used with caution and only on very problematic skin until it has balanced. Store the package cap side up and gently tap onto the hand to release a small amount of the product, otherwise you waste too much of the runny gel. Trilogy has better cleansers for the price, know your skin type and choose appropriately.

I give this product:
1 for packaging, it badly needs a pump!
3 for price as the full size product would last awhile.
3 as an overall rating as it was effective but needs some tweaking.
I wouldn't repurchase this product simply because it is too much for my normal skin type although I am glad I was able to try it for free and maybe, just maybe would keep it in mind for any emergency break-outs...maybe!

While I love Trilogy's Rosehip Oil, I am very disappointed with this cleanser - it hardly foams up at all and I have to use a lot more product than I usually would to get my face to feel clean. It's almost as if the gel simply dissolves once it comes into contact with water. I also find it to be slightly irritating around my eyes - for a product this expensive, I would have expected a lot more.

I found this cleanser to be far too harsh for my sensitive/oily skin, it caused it to become red, tight, itchy and gave me terrible breakouts. Very disappointing as it is marketed for oily skin but I've gone back to the Very Gentle Moisturiser which is lovely - I should've stuck with that!

This cleanser is OK... I like that it's "natural" and it smells nice. Didn't irritate my skin.
Downsides unfortunately out way the good..
It's very runny and I find a lot of product was wasted when I opened the lid to squeeze a little out.. a lot would escape! Needs a pump or something instead.
It didn't get rid of all my makeup. Definitely need to remove makeup first.
It just kinda feels like you're rubbing aloe vera gel around your face and not getting a really good clean. I ended up using this just as a morning cleanser as I needed something with a bit more oomph at night!
I don't think I will buy this again.

I love most of the trilogy products but i found this to be a tiny bit of a let down. This made my face a little red and it did feel a wee bit stripped, it also has a very runny, water texture. On the plus side, this didnt break me out at all, nor did it cause little allergic bumps on my face as some cleansers do. It is really not a bad product, but there is nothing wow about it.

Another fantastic Trilogy product. I have been using this for over two years now, and love it. It really helps with my oily complexion, and does not strip my skin. Depending on what my hormones are doing in the Winter months I sometimes switch to the Trilogy creamy cleanser, as my skin can dry out during this time of year. The cleanser does not lather up but is a gel; I do wish it came in a pump, because as other reviewers wrote it is on the runny side.

You can't go wrong with Trilogy. I've tried quite a few of their products and none has disappointed me so far. Their products truly stand out with simple yet effective ingredients, giving you consistent performance and does what it says.

I've been avoiding gel cleanser ever since I'm over 32 as they tend to dry out my face, even though I'm an oily/combo skin. I've been using a few good organic cream cleansers and am happy with them. But since summer is around the corner in Southern Cal, I want to have some lighter cleanser for the season. I bought Trilogy Gel Cleanser from a sale and tried it tonight the first time. Again it does not let me down. The gel cleanser comes in a watery/creamy texture upon releasing on my palm. I used a quarter size for my entire face. It foams up quickly and very gentle, not stripping your face as gel cleanser tends to do. It cleansed my face very well, with the Trilogy trademark scent. very soothing and yet deep cleaning. I rinsed my face with lukewarm water and there it is, a squeaky clean face in the mirror, not drying at at all!

Another good product from Trilogy I have to say. The packaging is in a convenient tube which you get whatever amount you want and good for travel. The tube is huge with about 200ml. I think it'll probably last me for a year if I only use it at night. An excellent cleanser and a good deal!

I purchased this cleanser about 2 months ago and I am loving it! Leaves my skin feeling very soft, clean and NEVER dry. I've got combo/dry skin and this has repaired the dry patches on my cheeks. It is a little runny and doesn't really produce a thick lather, but it still feels like you've got a good cleanse out of it.
I love how this doesn't strip ur skin of moisture. Although it is a bit pricey, I will most definitely buy this again - its really worth it.

Really nice cleanser. Has a lovely clean citrusy herbal smell. It lathers nicely and leaves my skin feeling clean and soft. I don't like the packaging though as the product is quite thin and it's easy to squeeze too much out while you are opening the cap. At this price you don't want to waste it!! I would buy it again though.
