I was getting a manicure yesterday for a fall wedding and I wanted a dark vampy reddish color. I had selected OPI's Glove You So Much but Pretty at the Premiere was among a pile of polishes sitting at the end of the manicurist's table and it caught my eye. The shades are similar but I compared the two side-by-side and decided to switch to Pretty at the Premiere because it is redder, and the manicurist also agreed that she liked this one better. I love how my nails look - it's really flattering on my NC30 skintone. I'm disappointed to find out that this shade seems to have been discontinued. I'll have to either track down a bottle or hope that the nail salon still has it in a few months because I'll definitely want to wear this in the winter - especially during the holiday season. I was pretty bummed about summer ending but nail and makeup colors like this are getting me excited for the months ahead.

This is a beautiful shade of deep, dark red! This is what I thought "Glove You So Much" would look like, except, much to my disappointment, GYSM was much more purple than I expected.
I have light skin with warm undertones and it looks awesome on me, but I think that this color would look great on any skin tone. Pretty at the Premiere is such an amazing rich color and I'm so sad that it's discontinued!!

I don't like this polish. It looks stunning in the bottle, and when first applied and still wet on my nails, it looks nice too. But when it dries...it's the most flat, berry coloured red ever. Reminds of of the colour of BBQ sauce but more berry coloured. On my NC42 tan skin it looks so dull and boring.
The formula is nice and everything, but the colour just doesn't tickle my pickle.

This is the nail polish that I keep coming back to. I rarely buy polish unless I am really bowled over, but this colour was just so beautiful that I couldn't pass it up. I am very pale with a slightly yellow undertone to my skin and it works really well on me. I also find this incredibly easy to apply, it goes on evenly and leaves a fantastic finish, even without a top coat.
I wear it year round, but I think it's an exceptional winter-time colour, it's very festive. I'd describe it as a stunning candy apple red.

Everything about this polish is perfect: the color, the brush, the application .. Even the first layer goes on smoothly, the color evens itself out immediately and one could easily go with just that one layer .. (However, I always apply at least two.) This polish is just perfect!

Whenever I have this great shade of red, everybody asks me what it is.. Even before me leaving the nail salon, people stop and ask me which color I picked... It's such an amazing and sexy color.. Maybe it's because it matches perfectly with my skin tone (NC 20-25).. highly recommended..

I love this for the Christmas season. Just a pretty, festive red. I've never reviewed a nail polish before, but I got so many compliments on this color, I figured it was worth the effort!

This color just oozes red. I like pairing it with Lancome's Juicy Tubes In All Her Splendor because the colors are so similar, that deep lucious red that reminds me of Snow White's poisoned apple. It's truly seductive and wearble for this holiday season.

I agree with the review below - I was expecting an amazing red with this polish but unfortunately it's just not working for me. On my olive complexion this polish comes up very berry like and just seems to clash with everything. The quality is good as it doesn't chip easily and isn't gloopy, but the colour doesn't impress me. It's a medium/dark berry red with some shimmer..sounds ok but in reality I don't think it looks nice. May work for some but was a miss for me.

The perfect red? Hardly. For me atleast this was mildly disappointing. I just don't care for this one as much as I thought I would. First of all its berry-ish. So for me thats not a red its a berry color. It's just off, maybe its my super pale skin tone but I find that most things looks awesome against pale skin...especially red tones. Tons of hype and this didnt deliver. Its not hideous thought...just not special...very average. Typical nice wear for the OPI brand though. I wouldnt repurchase.

This is my HG red nail polish! The color reminds me of the ruby slippers in The WIzard of Oz. I feel like clicking my heels together!
A few notes: I have very fair skin and this appears very dark on me in room lighting, almost as dark as Lincoln Park After Dark, but when you get closer or in natural light, it is the most gorgeous ruby color. Also, I love the prowide brush on my fingernails but my toenails curve up a bit and I had some problems with it getting all over my toes, which is really noticeable with this color. BUT it's a perfect color and I will definitely use it over and over again.

Definately my favourite red polish in my collection - I'm no longer on the search for a HG red because I've found this one.

Pretty at the Premiere is somewhat similar to I'm Not really a Waitress, but it goes much better with my skintone. It's a multidimensional red with shimmer, but not shimmer that's too noticeable or garish. I feel very sexy when wearing this red and have recieved numerous compliments from both men and women on how nice the colour is. It's grown up, feminine and classy - exactly what I've always wanted in a red polish.

The colour is dark, but not too dark. I've never been a fan of bright red polishes, so this one compliments me greatly. As the reviewer below said, it's like a ruby red with some shimmer, so it's dark but has more depth to it than a creme. Very flattering on my skintone.

Formula is great, no streaking/bubbles. The prowide brush is helpful to as it allows me quick application. As always, OPI polishes are ridiculously expensive (here in the UK, anyway) so I paid about £9.

This is definately a keeper.

Ladies, I have found my HG red nailpolish. That is how amazing this product is.
I searched for 3 years for the perfect red. I tried drugstore brands, & I tried high end brands. None of them ticked the boxes for me. I was on the lookout for a darkish red, & could never find one that was dark enough to suit my needs or pretty enough. Then came along OPI!
I got this for £9.50 here in the UK, plus a £2.00 delivery charge bringing the total up to £11.50. Bloody expensive, yes I know...but either way, OPI is expensive here in the UK, not to mention very hard to come across unless you go online.
In the bottle, this is a BEAUTIFUL, dark shimmery red. Words cannot describe how gorgeous it looks in the bottle. I was a little nervous as the colour hardly ever turns out exactly as it looks in the bottle, but I went ahead & painted both my finger nails & toenails. Even on the 1st coat, it looked fabulous! The shimmer isn't over the top, it's just nice & subtle, giving the polish dimension. When I applied a 2nd coat, I gasped. It just looked perfect, like the red I had been looking for my whole life. It's a dark red, with some slight bits of shimmer, & goes on looking shiny. What's not to like?!
It looks similar in both artificial light & natural light - only in the natural light it looks slightly lighter & you can see the shimmer more clearly. I have olive skin (think J-Lo's colour) & it just flatters me perfectly. I'd tried OPI "i'm not really a waitress" but it turned fuschia on me because of my skintone. However, "pretty at the premiere" is more accomodated to darker skintones. I'm also sure that this would look stunning on fair skin too...it's universally flattering.
The colour is like a dark ruby red. It would look great against black clothing -- although at the moment I'm wearing a white vest top & it looks great with that too. This truely is a glamorous shade; pair this with heels & a little black dress...I can see men all over the world falling at your feet! I think this would look nice on any age, but especially late teens & over. I'm 18 & this just makes me look so sophisticated. I'm in love.

The quality of the polish is good also - I've had no streaking (even with 1 coat). I like the prowide brush, because I can do my entire nail is barely 2 seconds. I've only been wearing this one day, so I can't report on chipping. I've used no base coat or top coat, but I'll be sure to update when I start getting chips (this usually happens to me on the 3rd or 4th day with OPI polishes...baring in mind that I use no top/base coats).
It looks great on both fingers & toes. When I go on holiday in July, this is going to be an almost permenant fixture on my toes & fingers. Beautiful for a pedi & equally beautiful for a mani :)
I'd repurchase this in a heartbeat, & I recommend EVERY female in the world to try this out. It's the best OPI shade I've ever used. continued >>

the most beautiful red ever! this polish looks amazing, especially under artificial lighting which makes it even prettier. goes extremely well with cool skin tones. however, it is very prone to chipping.

I bought "Pretty at the Premiere" to use on my toes, as I never wear dark polish on my fingers, but I loved it so much that I just had to try it. Deep burgundy-reds like this tend to pull blue on me, but this color stayed true - it's a deep gorgeous red with very fine red pearl/glitter. It looks surprisingly good on my short nails. However, as a previous reviewer noted, it seems more vulnerable to chipping than other OPI polishes. I'd still buy it again in a heartbeat because it's so beautiful.

This n/p didn't wow me at first. After 2 coats I decided to swap it. I did a third coat and now I can't stop looking at it. It is a very pretty deep shimmering ruby, it actually matching the new paint in my dining room "cherry cobbler" lol
Needless to say I can't stop staring, and the brush seems wider than other OPI's I own so that is nice too. I wouldn't repurchase though, because this would only be good for fall/winter I can't see myself going through a whole bottle so quickly. I don't regret this purchase and if I had to do it over I would still buy it.

Pretty at the Premiere is a lovely deep shimmering ruby red polish. A little darker than I usually go for and it seems (from reading the other reviews here) that it comes out a bit darker on me than on other reviewers (which is why I've rated it at 4 rather than 5 lippies). I'm a PPP, with lots of pink undertone (NW 20 at best), perhaps that's why it's got more garnet on me?!?!
Seeing as it was an ebay purchase it came in OK on the pricing scale (OPI is $20AU or about $17US at current exchange rates, a bottle here!!!) if I'd had to buy it at Aussie retail it would have suffered!
While I'll never need to buy it again, I do like the colour enough to do so if I had too!!

I got a bottle of this from my sister as a gift, and it is gorgeous! I think it's a bit deeper than INRAW, which is more towards cherry red, whereas PatP is more ruby. Others have described the color very nicely. I think this would look terrific on just about anyone, during the holidays or anytime of year. It is beautiful. I didn't know this shade existed until I received it as a Christmas gift, but I would repurchase this. I would bet this is limited edition though................

Pretty at the Premier is a gorgeous, deep ruby red - which is the description I've been giving to every nail brand MA and manicurist for the last few years with no success on anytihng remotely close. It's no surprise OPI has come through for me. This is such a beautiful, sophisticated colour. I normally wear it with short nails, which makes me feel fun and festive, yet it's not something OTT, it's nice enough as an every day colour. I've seen it on long nails too though, and it's the picture of sophistication.

I've always had trouble finding a good red - I can either wear bright cherry red, and the right kind of ruby red due to my colouring. I'm a medium-fair Asian with a fair bit of pink undertone. So even the slightest difference in hue can look ghastly on me. I've seen this shade on a few other tones though, from a very fair blonde to a deep chocolate Indian, and it's just gorgeous on everyone. When I took it to my manicurist before Christmas, she mentioned that someone else had brought it in as well. So that's a good way to put it - it's just the right amount of red and ruby with a very slight shimmer that just reminds you of Christmas. It's my signature shade now - it's fun on weekends, and it's sophisticated enough for work.

Price is so-so for a nail polish. But having said that, all the other cheaper brands like Maybelline don't make a colour this gorgeous, and as for finish and durability, I think the name OPI just says it all!
