This is my FAVORITE of the Reflects Glitters by MAC. It is the perfect glitter to pair with browns or reds or purples....it is glittery but not GLITTER...it is so fine and beautiful and has enough of a pigment kind of dust with the glitter you really can use it on your own or as an accent or eve over something else. It is the ultimate glitter for the girl that doesnt want too much glitter.

This color is GORGEOUS!!! I don't care for browns or golds, but this color is truly beautiful. I was really surprised by how much I adore this color. It is one of (if not THE) most beautiful and unique eyeshadow/ pigment colors I've ever seen. It's like a cool toned brown with very fine gold shimmer throughout. On the eye it just shimmer and shines like crazy.. but it doesn't look like that childish glitter/shimmer. It has a very elegant look.

I love most of the Reflects Glitters I have and Antique Gold is no exception. I recently tried this for the first time, and have to say without a doubt, this is going to instantly slide into the top 3 of "reflects glitters' for me.

Antique Gold is perfectly named. As the name indicates, this is definitely an "Antique" gold .. it's a dirty sort of rustic gold, more brown than yellow, but not dark. Just adds a very sparkly and quite stunning pop to eyes. Most of these need to be used with the mixing medium for better adherence and this definitely works better with that. The sparkle on this is stunning, and unlike the regular MAC glitters, this is more finely milled. So while it definitely still has that "bling" factor, it's not quite as loud as the regular MAC glitters. I paired this with a deep purple/wine crease shade and the finished look was quite striking! Definitely one of the best "reflects" glitters MAC has released. SO glad I picked this one up! continued >>

Love this product. I'd bought ages ago and used with the eyeline mixer medium but didn't really like the effect. Then spoke to a FANTASTIC SA on the MAC counter in Belfast and she suggested using Painterly paint pot as a base and applying the glitter with a firm brush dampened down with Fix+.
Did a trial run of this, with NARS Mekong on the crease and under the lower lashline and LOVED it. There was very limited fallout and absolutely no creasing.
One lippie off because it wasn't necessarily as dramatic as I would have liked from a glitter pigment.

I bought this beautiful glitter from my local Cosmetics Company Outlet for $16. It is in the original 7.5g jar instead of new smaller jars. This is a very finely milled dirty gold glitter that is excellent for spicing up a boring neutral look. It adds just the right amount of sparkle that is sophisticated and lovely. I like to pat this on top of my black winged liner for more pizzazz. On nights out with the bf and the girls, I use this wet all over my eyelids for a huge wow factor. This is a wonderful product, definitely check your CCO to see if you can still get your hands on the larger jar. I believe this is a permanent or pro product from MAC that you can buy at any time. If not, this is frequently repromoted in holiday sets. Will not repurchase because I will never run out.

I am a fan of antique gold colors. This eyeshadow has very fine intense glitter and it is extremely pretty. I wouldnt wear this to office as it is too loud but for a nights out with friends... gosh that is more than perfect. The other colors I can recommend is Fyrinnae's new castle and Bobbi brown metallic cream shadow in antique gold as well. All perfect. LOL

LOVE!
I agree with the commenters that suggest this glitter is "natural." There is something really earthy and lovely about it. It can be incorporated into a brown or purple or green smokey eye and blend qutie well.
This pigment is pretty fine for a glitter and doesn't feel like rocks on your lid. I use it as liner (with Beauty from the Earth Mix & Fix or MAC Fix +) but mostly as a shadow. For a glitter, it sticks to the lid relatively well on its own.
I order small jars from MakeupGeek.com for $4 or so. A little goes a long way. continued >>

I paid a lot for this glitter since it was discontinued and I do not have access to mac pro. so I had to but in on ebay and i am not at all sorry! If worn over black carbon or any matte color it creates the sought after wet effect that spells out sophistication and glam without the clown inspired glittery looks that scare us all. If used it fix+ (which you should, if u do not want fallout) it stays on forever and I do not really get fallout. Use a wet synthetic brush and pat it on, rather than brushing it on and there should be no problem getting it to your lids.

I don't normally write reviews for eyeshadow/glitter as I find many are the same but I have to make an exception for 'Reflects Antique Gold.' This color is a beautiful brown gold that looks like diamonds on the lid. Of all the eye looks I have ever done, this one gets me the most compliments from women. I just use MAC Paint Pot Constructivist on the lid then pat this with my finger on top. It's the most spectacular look. Pairing with just about any colored liner works nicely, too. I sometimes use blue, green, plum, black or brown. They all work well. I have used this as a casual-wear daily sort of look at times when I just want to feel pretty. One of my favorite products MAC makes, hands down. Plus, that jar lasts a lifetime it seems! Would buy again many times over.

I tend to shy away from glittery products bc of my age lol, im 38! However, this pigment works great when mixed with fix plus and foiled onto the lid over macs blacktrack gel liner. It makes your eyes look very 1900 peasent girly. The shine and sparkle catch light and really emphasize your eye color. My eyes are brown and when wearing this pigment, they almost look rust color. This pops so much gold in my eyes. It looks amazing. There is some fall out, hence its glitter, but this is easily controlled by the fix plus and a swipe of translucent powder under your eye. All in all, i love this.

Love this shade! MAC somehow managed to make glitter "natural". If you're new to glitter, or want something subdued definitely buy this shade. I sometimes lightly pat this over my eye shadow with Fix +. My favourite though is to use it with MAC PRO Mixing Medium for the Eye. It turns this shade into the most amazing eyeliner, and it holds the glitter all night long. I don't get any fallout whatsoever when I use the mixing medium.

One of my very favorite MAC products. Gorgeous and completely impractical (I mean, really, a 7.5 gram jar of cosmetic glitter?). The thing I love so much about it is that it’s tiny micro glitter…this in combination with the beautiful tarnished gold color, imo, makes this a standout…so for us over the age of 25, it doesn’t look like ridiculous, chunky, teeny-bopper glitter.
I apply with a concealer brush and pat on. Yes there’s some fall out, but it’s glitter…that’s the nature of the beast. Apply with water or Fix+ or whatever if you want to minimize fall out. While this isn’t recommended for eyes, that’s the only place I wear it so there’s always a base on my lids to help this stuff stick and it lasts just fine throughout my event, even when caked/foiled on. If feel like Relfects Antique Gold was made for a thick set of falsies and an evening celebration. I wear contacts and have always been careful about keeping it out of my eyes and haven’t ever had a problem with eye irritation. As others have stated the jar kind of sucks...it would be nice if there was a sifter on top...but just be careful and set it away from the edge of the counter and your hand while it's open.
Love and will repurchase, although, I’ve had my jar for over a year (I think) and it looks brand new. I know MAC has shrunk down their pigment jars and would venture to say their glitter jars have shrunk too. But if you can’t purchase from the MAC Pro, this is worthwhile if ever re-released.

I adore this glitter. It took me a very long time to get a hold of it as I don't have access to Pro products but I finally bought a vial online and was instantly hooked. I've since bought a full-size jar and plan on getting another one! It is the most beautiful, shimmery grown-up glitter you could imagine. Antique Gold is a good name because that's exactly what it looks like. I think this would look amazing on any skintone, darker skins especially, but I have very light skin and love it on me! MAC's Reflects glitters are fantastic for creating evening looks as they aren't chunky at all, just amazingly light-reflective. You can use them just as a wash to add a bit of sparkle, or I pack them on with a flat brush and really add a bit of oomph!
You do need to work a bit with them or else there will be a lot of fall-out. By using a decent primer and a good sticky base like a blended-out shadestick, the glitter should stay put all night. I apply with a damp brush, keep my highlight colour fairly subdued and blend out the edge of the glitter with a smokey brown, and voila, perfect night out eyes.

I saw a YouTube tutorial for a chocolate smokey eye, and the artist used the Reflects Antique Gold on top, and it was one of the prettiest things I'd ever seen...it did not look like normal glitter in the least...her eyelids sort of glimmered and shone. After receiving Antique Gold in a set for Christmas, I tried the look on myself and it looks just as pretty! My eyelids look glossy and multi-faceted when I wear it, and it stays put whether or not I use a base underneath. Application is tricky, but easy to do once you know how to work with the reflects. I usually dampen my brush a bit with mixing medium, and then pat the glitter carefully on my lids. This way there is minimum fallout. I'm eager to try it as a glitter liner!

I am sure most people know, but - you can still purchase this pigment at MAC Pro stores, even through phone order.
This is amazing, the crystal-glass-glossy-shine(?) it gives on your eyes is really beautiful and unique, I haven't yet found any other brand or eyeshadow that gives the same effect.
Like everyone mentioned, it's a pain to apply but worth it.
I use it without base, with base, dipped with clear liquid liner to make it a glittery eyeliner,.....everything.

Yes, you can have alot of fallout if you don't use a medium or base. You need to know how to work with this as it can be tricky. I use a greasestick or paintpot and put the pigment on my outer corner first. I then blend my lighter lid color into it. I get alot less fallout if I put the darker pigment on first.

This added to the outer corner over a smokey eye looks AMAZING. I wouldn't but it again as you get so much product and it is only a special occasion colour. I foil the glitter using Fix + or use a dark, sticky base and I never have a problem applying it.

My friend gave me this last Christmas. I haven't stopped using it since. I just love this. I think everyone has already described how breath taking this is. Yes, it can get everywhere when applying it so you have to be careful. I usually take a square of bathroom tissue and fold it and put it on my eye and dab this on with my finger. It helps the glitter not go all over my face. This looks wonderful over all sorts of brown/olive/dark green shadows. It just enhances all of the eyeshadow colors. This will last a very long time because you really only need a dab on each eye.

i dont think i have ever seen another pigment with so much shine in it! shine is just over the top!
you can use it as topping glitter or as an eyeshadow when foiling it bc it is pigmented as well.

at the moment i only have a sample of this product but it is by far my favourite glitter of them all!
i fell inlove with it when i first swatched it and couldnt stop looking at it.
i find it can be used with alot of different colours. i tend to use it over a dark base like anything black.
and if you apply it when it looks like liquid metal its absolutely amazingly gorgeous.i like to do a realy dark black smokey eye then put this wet or dry over the lid and it looks so pretty.
i plan to get the full size jar soon.
