Flamenco is a terrific color, a nice true red. My bigger issue is with the formula. It feels nice on the lips, and I find it never feathers or bleeds into fine lines. However, I don't find the sheerness works very well on me. It's buildable only to a point, and I find it applies and wears unevenly so I don't look like I'm wearing a nice sheer red lip, but as if my red lipstick has faded. I'll keep looking for a semi-opaque red in this color range.

This is a great red. I usually wear matte lipstick, but my poor dry lips have been crying for a change. Enter Flamenco. It's bright, but not overpowering. It's pigmented, but light and doesn't dry out my lips. I can apply one coat for a cherry popsicle look, or 2 coats for a more intense look. If I really want it intense, I'll line my lips with the Jungle Red liner and apply this over. I love how modern and juicy this finish looks. Highly recommended.

At first I was afraid I was petrified. Kept thinkin' I could never live with red lipsticks without being too bright; but then I spent so many nights thinkin' how I should give it a chance. And I grew strong and I learned how to get along with red lipsticks when I discovered NARS Flamenco! hahaha.
***Its a really nice vibrant red lipstick that comes as a luster formula - meaning that its sheer and you could build it up to a level of intensity that you would be comfortable with. I wanted to experiment with red lipsticks for the holidays and I found this! Don't underestimate the fact that it is a luster formula because it is pretty opaque. But this is such a universal red vibrant shade that will just catch many eyes ;) Its a red lipstick shade that makes me feel so sexy. It can get drying at times though, so make sure you exfoliate and moisturize!

I love sheer reds as you can wear them to work without looking cheap or tacky. Flamenco is one of those reds that make you feel sophisticated without that "over the top" thing. Great red for daytime.

This is my current favorite lipstick! Its sheer cherry red on me; the color almost exactly matches Mac Ruby Woo except that its glossy. (I know this because I tried Ruby Woo on the left side of my lips and Flamenco on the right.)
Also, Flamenco never dries out my lips. One swipe, and I get defined lips that "pop." The color is amazing, especially good in daylight. The finish is just right--it looks moist and wears pretty well. Somehow the color brightens my face, brings out the rosiness in my cheeks (which comes from blush:)

I love this lipstick! About a month ago, I spent a good hour with a colour tech at Sephora in search of my first red lipstick. I've purchased cheap red glosses, liners and sticks in the past, but never actually ended up wearing them because they looked, well... cheap. I have a yellowish, pale olive complexion that ends up looking sickly with the wrong lipstick shade, so I figured I'd ask a professional, and it was worth it!
The lipstick is a classic cool red, which goes on quite sheer, but can be built up or used with a liner for vibrant coverage. At first, I balked at the $30 CAD price tag, but decided to . I'm glad I did - it's so versatile and in the end, I'll probably spend less on this one lipstick than on a plethora of useless products that sit unused in the bottom of my drawer.
I also really love the bergamot oil scent (like Earl Grey tea) and the texture. It's creamy, but not too shiny, and it stays on quite well without the drying effects of a long-wearing lipstick.

Flamenco is a sheer red so if you like to wear it like a tint of color its perfect otherwise its very buildable too. I love it.

Flamenco is the perfect-go-to lip color if you're looking for that "sucking on a cherry popsicle" look. I like reds and own Nars Shanghai express, and cruella. The thing is, I'm don't like wearing them because they are very thick and pigmented which is great, but I usually like makeup that is more subtle. Flamenco is a sheer red that is build-able. I am partial to the look you get with lipstains, but most lipstains I've tried dry the crapout of my lips and/or don't last. This definitely lasts. The sheen of it disappears, but you are left with a perfectly healthy cherry pink pout.

Nars Flamenco love the packaging very classy . This lipstick is a sheer candy apple red with a scent that reminds me of flavored water if that makes any sense . I wear nyc new york color sheer ruby over this lipstick which is a gloss that is only a $1.99 how funny but the combination is beautiful.

I don't like this lipstick. It's too bright. I guess maybe because i have pale lips. It looks kind of scary. would probably suit those who have medium to dark lips. Texture is kind of dry, not as moisturing as sheer lipsticks from Dior

I like this for everyday-it's really sheer, but the color is vivid. Great if you are after a quick, wearable wash of red. I agree with one of the reviewers above--if you are looking for the effect red lipgloss but want something that's going to last longer than a gloss this is a good choice. It's got decent staying power. A little bit drying, and I don't really like the smell/flavor very much, but it's not a deal-breaker.
I think this is mild enough that it would flatter a variety of skin-tones.

I love this lipstick! I went into Sephora looking for a red gloss with a lot of pigment, which apparently doesn't exist. I love true red lipstick, but I work in a kitchen during the day, and red lips tend to be a bit much for that setting...however, I wasn't willing to totally give up on my red lips! After some trial and error, it occurred to me that maybe I was looking for a sheer red lipstick rather than a gloss. The SA at Sephora immediately suggested the Flamenco from NARS. It is absolutely perfect for me! One coat gives me red lips without giving me RED lips...perfect for my daytime setting. There is a perfect amount of pigment in the lipstick so that it shows up as red, but I can still see my lips underneath, and if I blot it tones down a bit to a beautiful red stain. I can layer it for a more dramatic look, but will probably stick with my MAC red or MAC Russian Red when I really want to stand out (it gets glossier the more you apply, which is not my preferred texture)...or maybe I will check out the more opaque NARS reds next! In the meantime, this has become my HG daytime shade!

Just adding my $.02 to what everyone has already said...a fabulous candy apple red for ANYONE. Layer on a little for day, a lot for night, no bleeding, no smell, no drying...if the price sounds like a bit much, just be aware that it is worth every cent.

Best sheer candy apple red I've come across yet. It brightens up my nc25 complexion. I have bro/bro hair fyi. It really goes well with my dark features. It's subtle yet vibrant if that makes any sense. Its complexity to turn from natural to bright depending on how you layer it is versatile. This lipstick can definitely take you from day to night and looks great with a subdued eye or a more dramatic look. Wears down to an even pinky red stain and NO funky NARS smell, yay!!! Not drying on my lips and stays even throughout the day. Highly recommend!

I just bought this a couple of days ago. I initially looked at Jungle Red because I own the nail polish and LOVE that. But the lipstick is very different. The SA suggested I try Flamenco because this is my first venture into wearing red lipstick. I must say that so far I love this. It brightens my face and is very easy to apply. I don't need lip liner because it is so sheer. I can pack it on for more impact or blot it out into a subtle stain. So it works for day and night. The colour description on the NARS website fits the bill 'Sheer candy apple red'. Initially I was scared because it sounds very bright, but strangely it works on my NC44 skin. I will be wearing this alot. Unlike other NARS lipstick reviews I've been reading, the formula is not drying at all.

This is a gorgeous color. A sheer, pure, neutral-to-cool red. I've been looking for a pure red--a ringer for Lipstick Queen Red Sinner gloss, but minus lanolin (which isn't great for sensitive skin). I've been trying out everything in the last 2-3 weeks, and this is the winner. It's just a the perfect color for my PPP complexion--and it's a great match for Outlaw blush. It also blots down evenly and becomes a lovely stain that lasts for ages--and on me, lipsticks usually disappear ASAP. It's just a terrific lipstick--worth the money! 11/8/08: Oh, dear, I have to revise my rating because after all that excitement, I ended up taking it back! I think this may be one of the very rare lipsticks that turns on me. It just seemed to end up after a bit as a rather boring pinky color, not so much pure red as I'd thought. Oh, well. I'd give it a 3 1/2,but there's really nothing wrong with it, it was just wrong for me.

Fabulous, sheer, neutral everyday red. Packs more punch than Gipsy but is still very wearable for daytime. One of those rare red lipsticks that can be worn easily and you don't have to give it a lot of thought or spend a lot of time on application. All-around excellent lipstick!

I went to the NARS counted wanting a red lipstick. Well Fire Down Below was a little to much red for me since I am not use to wearing red. The SA suggested this and its nice because I can use it more as a stain or as a much more vibrant red. I think it is creamy and moisturizing. It has no odor or taste to me. I gave it a 4 because of price.

I bought this lipstick after seeing reviews on MUA and I am happy with that decision. I am a big fan of red lipsticks, but lately, my lips have suffered because of that, since most beautiful red lipsticks are predominantly matte and extremely drying to the lips. After suffering through several cases of severely cracked lips (bleeding) I decided it was time to either give up red or find one that is not drying, so not matte, but still good. If you like red lips and you've been wearing bold reds, you know there are tons of criteria for a good red lipstick, such as staying power, bleeding, colour, etc. Well, Flamenco really has it all. It is defined as sheer, but it's still very visible. It's not too bright, not too dull, creamy and non-drying, yet has a decent staying power. I will not go into the colour description as a) NARS describes it really well, and b) most reviewers on MUA have already described it in great terms. Suffice to say that I highly recommend this lipstick to novice red lipstick wearers who might not be up to the "bold red lip", or seasoned red lipstick wearers who need a break from drying red lips or want a change without having to part with their beloved red lipstick signature style.
