Ok so this color is definitely purple BUT unlike most of the amplified lippies you have to just dab it on. With this lippie you definitely have to add a couple of layers to get it that purple you see in the tube. Aside from the fact that it's not as pigmented as i would like, it is a BEAUTIFUL violet color. I just put on my lip balm, concealer and then this lipstick and no liner or gloss and it was stunning. On me it truly looks purple and leaves a fuschia stain on the lips when you blot it a bit, i don't really like fuschia much so I layer this on to REALLY get it purple.

WOW! I rock out amplified lippies, Show Orchid, Vegas Volt and now Viotetta! I love this color it is gorgeous beyond words. Violetta is my new favorite! My daily look is Nars Laguna bronzer, black mascara and a bright bold lip.

I Adore this color I seen someone on Youtube talk about it and I know from that day on I needed the color. I ended up swapping this with someone here on MUA! Once I recieved the color sanitized it over night and used it a day or 2 later I knew that it would be one of my favorite lipsticks and that is what it is! Love this color it is more of a Magenta Pink not really a violet color but its so creamy and pigmented!!! <3 this Lipstick! continued >>

I really wanted to like this color, but it's not quite purple enough. More of a pink and when blotted down looks similar to Girl About Town.. If I apply MAC's Fluid lipstick and then Violetta, I get a darker toned-down more purple color that I love. I wouldn't purchase it again since I have to add to it to make it work. Up the amp is so much more wearable and more purple.

Violetta makes the green in my eyes say "hello"! I don't wear much else as this needs to take centre stage. Bright, pinkie purple, will look good on fair and dark skins.

I won't have to purchase this again because it's not really an every day shade. Although with certain colors that I wear, it's AWESOME. I'm wearing a grey mock turtleneck today and it POPS on my lips - and I'm at WORK! (I've already gotten a couple of compliments). This is partnered PERFECTLY with NYX Lipliner in "Purple Rain". All in all, it's not a shade for the meak! I just love it!

Love, love, love this color!
Im an NC45 for reference.
To make this more wearable for daytime, I'll dust a layer of swish eyeshadow in the center of the bottom lip - and voila! And amazing look has been discovered!

Aaaaaaahhhhh! One of my favorite lipsticks. I wanted something really bold, and I got it, as I usually do with the Amplified MAC lipsticks. Violetta is a super bright flash of purple. It looks great with my tan skin and dark hair.

Looks very purple in the tube but look very pink on my lips, with a gorgeous purple flash. It's not really as creamy as I usually find amplified lipsticks are. It does however have amazing staying power, it won't leave my lips! I have swatches on my arm that have suvived showers and everything...!

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet! This lipstick is amazing. I got this all by myself (no SA to help) at a pro store, the colour spoke to me and I did not have a purple lipstick...Well the only downside to this colour is that there simply aren't enough occasions on which I can wear it. If anyone has found a way of making this colour daytime/SFW then please let me know. Until then the violetta only comes out when I want jaws on the floor!

I hesitated over purchasing this because I thought it was way too similar to MAC Up the Amp lipstick, but to my delight I realized that they do look quite different -- Up the Amp skews a bit more pastel, a shade more soft. It's like Violetta's younger sister who hasn't quite matured yet (but make no mistake, it is a lovely shade in its own right!). Violetta is a BOLD lipstick, a shimmery and rich bright purple with just enough pink undertones to keep it from looking like costume makeup. Due to its Amplified Creme formula, the coverage is very opaque and the wear time is good, if I apply with a lip brush, blot, and reapply until I achieve the desired intensity (to touch up, I just apply straight from the tube). I tend to wear it with very simple eye makeup, usually nothing more than a soft grey eyeliner on the upper lash line, a very neutral eyeshadow (if you can find it and are similar to my coloring, Milani Classic Beige is fantastic), and black mascara. Because of how bold the color is, I don't wear it with a lipgloss over it for fear of blinding people with a combination of in-your-face color and shine. Trust me, you will get noticed wearing this lipstick -- on the first two days alone of wearing this, I got everything from "Where did you get it?" to "I love it!" to "That is SOME lipstick," which I hope was a compliment, to "WTF are you wearing?!" I'm a huge fan of bold lips, and Violetta is definitely one of my favorites (the others in this entourage are MAC Ruby Woo, Morange, Up the Amp, and Girl About Town). This will be my default lipstick of the fall and winter seasons. NOTE: This is the same review I wrote for Violetta lipstick when it was released with the MAC Villains collection, minus information on the raised price and different packaging.

I tried so hard to like this and I couldnt...I ordered off MAC website, counted the days till I got it and was so sad when I tried it on how gross it looked on me.Im adventurous when it comes to makeup but I would have to mix this with at least 2 colors or glosses to get it wearable.Boo :(

This is one of the best MAC lipsticks that I own. If you are hesitating about getting it, don't. There is almost nothing bad about this lipstick. You get this beautiful, rich purple color. I've honestly seen nothing like it. It looks good paired with Mac's Currant lip pencil and it's a perfect statement lip. If you're more into a toned down look, then go for a plum lip like Mac's Odyssey. However, if you're bold then Violetta is absolutely a dream. It's true to color so the color you see in the tube is what you'll see on your lips. This isn't the case with some lipsticks, but Violetta truly gives you all its got. It's creamy and pigmented and lasts all day. You won't regret buying this.

This is such a beautiful, interesting color, I am surprised it is not in the standard MAC sortiment. The color on the lips is exactly like that in the tube, a gorgeous satiny purple. It is very pigmented, applies smoothly, has a creamy, slightly glossy finish and is very long lasting. However, the stain it leaves on the lips is not purple but rather pink with a purple tone and can only be taken off by scrubbing with a toothbrush (it even survives very greasy meals). Like my other amplified cremes, this one doesn't bleed, but I do use a skin-colored pencil outside the contour of my lips to keep the line defined. Being purple, you would think it doesn't work so well with warm skin ones but this is certainly not the case. I have very light yellow toned skin and this looks striking in a positive sense on me. However, it does help that I have jet black hair and that looks very nice with purple. A side note: I think cool lipstick colors can look really nice on warm skin and viceversa, because such color combinations make the face look more vivid. I don't usually use blush with this, and if I do, just very lightly. I just sculpt my face with Dior Amber Diamond (a warm toned shimmer powder that can be used both to highlight and contour), apply neutral eyeshadow and lots of mascara with winged eyeliner. If you are into unusual lipstick colors, or just want something different for a change, do give this a try.

MAC Violetta was the color which reminded me how much I love bright, bold lipsticks. I'd been on a lipstick-rut for a few years (my stash dwindled down to Viva Glam VI and Honey Moon: bo-ring!) and apparently needed a reminder that I have a pretty nice lip-shape, I look nice in bright colors and that a bright shade of lipstick does wonders for self confidence.
I get so many compliments when wearing Violetta, it's nuts.
A shade for life - will absolutely repurchase. And wear to work! Twice a week, at least!

I LOVE this color! Every time I wear this I get so many compliments. It's the perfect purple, my favorite color. For a bold lip I prefer to wear this over reds.

Can I say I joined MA just so I could rate this lipstick. This is my new found love!! It is a gorgeous purplish/magenta-ish lipstick depending on how many times you layer it. It is extra creamy and smooth when paired with a lip balm. As many stated, it is a POW in your face lipstick and really turns up the boldness of your look. I received soo many compliments when I wore it out, I def recommend to anyone who is ready to brave the evenings with a must-have night out color. Also, I find that the perfect match is when you pair it with Velvetella lip pencil from MAC. My only problem was getting it off, so I recommend using a concealer under the lipstick to keep it from staining your lips and to also provide for longer staying power. :) Enjoy!

I LOVE IT. It goes on very well, smooth, long lasting and has that WOW factor. its an amplified lipstick so its SHOWS. the thing i love the most though is that, depending on how many coats, u can change the colour. On days where i want pink lips, i put on a small layer (and i mean small layer) and it gives me this pretty pink/magenta colour. On bold days, i put a good layer and its PURPLE. I saw it at mac and just HAD to get it, didn't care for the price which was pretty pricey for my standard. But MAC lipsticks are worth it ^^

Love this, when i saw it in the store I fell in love. I literally didnt even swatch it. Besides, everyone was going crazy because Venemous Villians had just come out and I was scared that there wouldnt be any left!!! So I bought it and I wear it SO much, I dont care if its daytime or nightime. My skin is pale, but my mum loves it too and she's a little bit darker.

i'd never wanted a purple lipstick before...eventhough i love purple but i'd never thought of wearing it on my lips
but! after i saw the venomous villains collection i started to think about it and right after i made my decision....it's sold out....
so i had to order it online without maleficent on it (which it sad)
i like the color but it looks more on the pink side on my lips so...i'll have to find a way to make it look more purple
