I fell in love with Paris EDT. Beautiful.
The perfect perfume. Love how it starts. Love the dry down.
I tried the EDP, but decided on the EDT.
The EDT is perfect. Not too strong.
Very impressed.

Definitely a grandma's perfume, this fragrance brings you back to the 80's. All I could smell is dirty powdery smell.

This smells absolutely lovely and super feminine, like vintage roses. I love it.
However, just like it's counterpart "Parisienne", this wears off in about 5 minutes on me... Too bad.

I haven't worn this for a long time but it used to be one of my favorite florals. It's a classic floral. Feminine and elegant. Best for cooler weather or evenings though because it's not really light enough for Summer days IMO. Added bonus: I was stopped in the street a couple of times by men who told me I smelled great! It's a bit of a 1980s fragrance, not as complex as more modern scents.

This one was such a sensation in the '80s-- largely due to the showy faceted bottle with its pink-and-black cap, so tailored to the aesthetic of the time. The fragrance itself? I could take it or leave it. I don't think it smells as expensive as it is. It is a rose-violet combo, nothing more, nothing less. It strongly evokes lipstick, face powder, and cleansing cream, back when those products were heavily fragranced. I have a 0.5-ounce bottle that I like to sniff from time to time, as it reminds me of high school days, but I am never compelled to wear this, it's just not "me."

A lovely rose scent, older but timeless - it has a very wintery/cool vibe about it. Smells lovely on the right person. I havent owned this for years might have to track another bottle down.

I stopped someone on the train years ago when I spelled this perfume on her. I think it's a very classic, sophisticated, and unique scent. I love it!

To me this is a classic and quite ageless. A lovely sweet rose violet scent. I have the EDT which has great longevity and sillage. The only negative in my mind is that sometimes it reminds me a bit of Red Door by Elizabeth Arden. I have no idea why as I love Paris, and don't like RD... Paris is a lovely scent that I don't wear every day, but enjoy revisiting every once in a while. I hope to always keep a bottle of it in my rotation.

PROS: Strongly fragranced. Sweet and young.

CONS: Just a little too sweet and overwhelming that way for me. You better test this before buying blindly.

Only started wearing Paris this past year. Never did try it in the '80's because a friend of a friend of mine wore it. Mind you, I never smelled it on the friend of the friend but always steered clear of it because she (the friend of my friend) was, er, um, a bit skanky and cheap. So in my mind, I had linked the perfume and the person together. Fast forward to 2009, I was searching for a spring/summer perfume and couldn't find anything I liked. Started testing fragrances with which I wasn't super familiar with the bottle. Boy, was I floored when I found out that the perfume that made me swoon was Paris. It can be a bit strong, so I wear the eau de toilette in the spring/summer, and the eau de parfum in the fall/winter. A beautiful rose/violet perfume. And that's saying a lot, because I normally don't care for rose-based scents. Very romantic and pretty.

i had this for two years, i dont hate it but i dont love it either. but i hardly used it.this happened a lot with perfume. i love it at store when i tried then i regret after i brought it home. it is very very foral. smells like a garden, fresh and springy..it is just not sweet at all. the scent isnt what i expect from flower, but it truly smells like flowers though.anyway, i like the bottle the most.and sometimes i do find the scent very special, because it is not sweet.i can totally stand out by wearing it. just not my taste

I agree with reviewer fivezero that Paris would suit a six year old girl or maybe a teenager better. Disliked it as soon as i sprayed it on me and if it wasn't for the fancy bottle -which is a keeper- i could swear it was cheap drugstore rose cologne. Mediocre staying power, it has no character, no femininity, no sensuality and by no means can i recommend it for any woman that has passed her 15th birthday.

Sweet, gentle rose befitting a six-year-old girl in a frilly pink dress. With a Strawberry Shortcake doll. I love rose scents, but I don't know...this was just very "little girl" on me, and not at all what I like in a rose fragrance. Average staying power on me, several hours.

Yves Saint Laurents' Paris is absolutely gorgeous and beautiful. It is a dainty little rose fragrance. I like to imagine walking through a rose garden on a day when it is very cloudy outside. The clouds are big and puffy and very friendly looking. All of a sudden the clouds release a wonderful baby powder and blankets the rose garden you are walking in. You lie down on a rose petal bed surrounded by the soft baby powder. As you drift off to sleep roses and baby powder fairies are what you dream of. You awake in the morning to find you are in your own bed in your house. You are a little sad that the dream you had was not a reality but you go down to the store to buy a bottle of Paris by Yves Saint Laurent because that is the closest thing you can get to the little slice of wonderfulness that you dreamt of.

This one is clearly a skin-chemistry thing, but also a personality thing. I bring neither to the equation, and therefore I don't like Paris. It is just full-on candied violets and tea roses, frilly and foofy and pink. Reminds me of the scent of drugstore lipsticks. I can't wear Paris for more than 10 minutes without wanting to scrub it off--even though I can appreciate its distinctive character and can see it working on other women. There is no change in the drydown for me; it's just violet-rose-violet-ad-infinitum, with no relief of dry chypre or any other notes to make it less sickly. The whole aesthetic of YSL Paris seems to fit with candy-pink lipstick, a pink boucle suit jacket, a frilly collar, and a poodle. That's... not me.

love it or hate it I guess. I fit neither category. When I tried this on, it started as a lush pale rose with very faint powdery aspects. As it warmed, it developed almost lily tones and a watery feeling. Not an aquatic “cool” modern watery, but more like a bud in a vase of clear water with green leaves. It's definitely rose, but I don't get the cloying old-style suffocater that others describe, nor do I get the drop dead sexy red rose. On me, this is deceptively simple and very pretty. However, rose is not a note that I identify with myself, so it's not going to be something I'll buy. But it's certainly pretty and unoffensive in the right quantity. I did not flood my wrist with it, which might have made a difference.

I really wanted to like Paris, but I find it too cloying and old. I sprayed it on a sweater and the smell is still there, sometimes I imagine that I kind of like it, then I feel like ripping the sweater off. Overall it's an okay scent, but not for me.

I fell in love with this fragrance when i was 14. My friend used to wear this but it was far too strong which must have been edp . Years later now i have discovered edt version and fell in love but this time head over heels. I have read many comparisons between the edt and edp. The way i find it is that edt is like edp minus the excessive aldehydes and harshness. This leaves edt like a lively sparkling scent. I never imagined what a difference the edt would make. Enough to purchase and give full five lips. I would certainly purchase again even though it lasts much less than the edp but lingers beautifully on clothes. A fragrance i can see as versatile.

I don't care for this in edp either. It lacks the effervescence and sparkle of the edt. Formulation makes a difference here, imo.
