Sorry for the lack of a review but I just had to add that this reminds me so much of Van Gogh's Starry Night.

Ether is my most beloved MES shadow. Its mineral swirls capture what I best described chemical vapour. A base consistent of teal and cerulean blue burnished through with pitch carbon. Their is a glacial webbing of silver, flowing like silken lace. Inside are whimsical little bursts of 24karat gold sunshine sparkling through. The texture is smooth. good with a nice base/primer. Ether is rich and long lasting, blends easily with pigments, mattes etc. Gorgeous sexy cybervamp. There is no glitter whatsoever, instead it shines in metallic shimmers representing each color shift throughout . If you see it grab it. Its one of those good MES that you could stir up, if you like and the color would still make perfect sense as a heavenly wash or eyeliner wet. Ether is magic.

AWESOME. I just RIS and I am in heaven! I have one with excellent sections of veining so I am able to pull out a silvery mermaid inner eye color, a muted golden grey mid lid color, a deep dark navy outer 1/3, and a bright teal pop for lining the lower lashline. I LOVE that there is a golden shimmer throughout each of the colors, making even the "muddy" grey tones so much more than just that. I think this will be my perfect go-to for travel, having all those colors in one little pot is just awesome!
Looks great on my hazel eyes and N1 (Face & Body) complexion.
Also it is more shimmer and less glitter than a lot of other MESs. All around fabulous! continued >>

I love this eye shadow for big nights out- as the colour is quite dark and smokey.
Great for creating sexy smokey eyes.
It looks amazing in the pan- like oilslick in a puddle!
It kind of blends together to make a dark green smokey shade- it is beautiful, no wonder it is a cult product.

I love love love this color, seriously. But sadly, someone dropped it and it's broken into chunks and pieces (such a shame!) so I can't use it very well anymore, all the colors are mixed and scattered. :( I loved playing around with the colors, there are so many: gold, aqua, indigo, emerald, and there are so many different looks you can create with this.
The only other thing was that this looked too much like my own eye color, which just made me look blah. I bet this looks amazing with brown eyes!
The only bad thing about MAC, to me, is the packaging.. The eyeshadows break so easily! My woodwinked broke once before, as well (which wasn't such a drama, because it was one color).

I try to stay away from darker color because I am so pair, but Ether is an exception.. I got every Mineralize shadow from the collection and they all take a backseat to Ether..
I think Ive gotten more compliments on this shadow and more people asking me what color I was wearing then any other single MAC color.. Its gorgeous!

One of my all time favorite Mineralize eyeshadows! If you're one that loves deep blue/green colors, this is worth having in your stash! Ether is a swirl of blue, green and deep teal. Mixed together, this is similar to my beloved Plumage only slightly deeper. The pigmentation is wonderful and what I love is that I can make this more blue or more green depending on what I pick up with my brush. Another winner in my collection!!

This eyeshadow is what got me addicted to mac's mes. I got this in a swap probably about a year ago and I LOVE it. This is by far my favorite mes. The colors are gorgeous and there are so many ways to wear them. Application is a breeze, blends well and color payoff is wonderful. This is excellent for a smokey eye, and mac's mystery eyeliner goes perfect with it! mes, in general, are AWESOME!! Will most definitely be buying more of these, and Im on the lookout for a backup Ether because Im running really low.

Ether is gorgeous. It's such a unique shade. It has blends of light blue, gold, teal, blue, and black. When applied dry all over the lid, it reminds me of a less glittery steel blue pigment with a little bit of dark teal. Very pretty. Works well as a liner shade, I like to use my black russian pearlglide as a base and put this on top.

I found this to be a boring teal colour that provided lots of glittery fallout. No thanks.

I had to get this discontinued eyeshadow after all the reviews I had read on Makeupalley :-) Well, now I have it and I am somewhat disappointed. The eyeshadow is absolutely gorgeous to look at in the pan but on me it's just a boring dirty teal shade. It creases by mid afternoon too if I don't use the primer.
But I am glad I have it anyway - if I use it to line the upper/lower lash lines it looks quite pretty!

So beautiful. I have been lemming this for ages and when I could get my hands on this...I did.I am not impressed like I thought I would be. You can get tons of diffrent colors with this, but when used just by rubbing brush over it..and sweeping over lid for a all over wash...not too impressive. Its just gorgeous to look at really.

Skin Type: Normal to dry, tans easily, rarely breaks out. Skintone: LLL (olive skin tone) Haircolor: Changes frequently Right now, medium mocha brown with copper and latte highlights. Eye Color: Espresso brown.
Yes, the MAC counter is dangerous. I swore to myself that I would not buy more than I need, but obviously the angel on my shoulder did not have a megaphone and the devil did. I ended up with several products including Engaging Mineralize eye shadow.
MAC Mineralize eye shadows are the baked terracotta eyeshadows. They are baked creams like those flavored meringues. The size of these are bigger than the usual shadows; pan alone is about 1 ˝” in diameter or about 37mm. It also costs more $16.50. Depotting would be difficult for this since it sits on top of a terracotta disc. Also, it is a bit fragile so don’t go knocking it around in your train case or it will shatter.
Every pattern of a mineralize shadow is unique. I got one that has a big streak of dark teal with a big splotch of sky blue and gold infused ribbons. All of this results in a color that is a shimmery/frosty stormy blue (grey/teal/blue) with silver flecks.
Depending on how it is applied, it can go anywhere from a wash of color (with a brush) to an opaque block of color (applied with finger); and this is used dry. Foiled (used wet) it applies a bit more smoothly and the frosty sheen is a bit more uniform, also the greyness of it turns more into a metallic somber teal.
I like to use this for a smoky eye look. It isn’t as dark as a black or charcoal but it does have that smoky quality to it. Paired with Fairylite pigment, the coolness comes out more. However, for some skin tones, this can looked bruised due to its “greyness”.
Ingredients: Talc, dimethicone, polysorbate 20, isopropyl palmitate, jojoba seed oil, tocopheryl acetate, retinyl palmitate, yeast extract, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, magnesium aluminum silicate, bht, sodium dehydroacetate, phenoxyethanol. May contain: mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxides, bismuth oxychloride, blue 1 lake, carmine, chromium hydroxide green, chromium oxide greens, ferric Ferro cyanide, manganese violet, red 40 lake, ultramarines, yellow 5 lake.

The Ether I bought from eBay is mostly teal, with a couple of good black areas and one goldish-cream spot. I used the teal all over my eye, right up to the brow, and then I highlighted under the brow with the cream and lined with the black, working it into the crease a bit. It looked amazing! I have blue-grey eyes, and I usually avoid teals and blues, using them very sparingly as accent colors on my lid. I would never have imagined I could wear a teal color all the way up to my brow without looking like an 80's throwback. But it looked so cool- I think because the color is subtle but noticeable, and shimmery without being glittery. And it helps that the teal color itself is so unique and stunning! I'm so glad I tracked one of these down, and I highly recommend that you track one down, too, if you've ever wanted to try the perfect teal!

I got one with good marbling; I can do 4-5 different colors with it. Only problem is that none of them actually looks blue on me. And mixing the colors provides a muddy, nondescript glittery dark grey. The texture is pretty good, but I wouldn't repurchase and will probably swap this one away. I have other MES from MAC that are much better than this one.

Absolutely Beautiful!! As the previous reviewer mentioned, a premier / base is a must when using this. A little hard to blend, but the finished result is soo worth it!! Would repurchase in a heartbeat!! :)

This is my favorite out of all the MES duos, even though it doesn't have the smooth texture of Tectonic. This color is so pretty and versatile- not to be worn without a base, however- but it looks great over Blue Peep or Royal Wink f/l or Sea Me Shadstick... or Blitz & Glitz... it really could go over anything and still look interesting and I guess I prefer this due to it's versatility. If you can grab one, it will complement and expand any eyeshadow collection. continued >>

Ether continues to impress me. I'm able to use it wet for a potent punch of color. Any color, nearly! Mine is veined with teal, darkest navy, gold, frosty creamy green, and various in-between shades.
Yesterday, I had an unfortunate experience while experimenting with shimmery pale bases. Suddenly, my eyelids were blotched with PALE sparkliness in some areas and not in others... and my husband was desperate for us to leeeeave already. In a panic, I reached for Ether, applied only the pale goldish/greenish/creamy stuff WET on top of the disaster area, and suddenly my entire eyelids were frosty gold/mint and gleaming. A little muchish, but fun, even, and pretty. So I thought heck, it'll do. Later, on the way home, I caught my eyes in the car's rear view mirror, and I was gobsmacked. The Ether STILL looked fabulous and if anything had worn into this creamy, shimmery wonder.
So: this eyeshadow is wayyyy more than just another muted teal (although if you want muted teal, that's up its alley, too). If you have an angled brush, like a 266, you should be able to pick out any of at least four colors and wear them however you like. Ether, babe: you were worth it!

love, love this MES. The colours are so perfect together, so when you put it on, it blends perfectly! Absolutely foolproof. Mine has a lot of dark patches, so it turns out to be a shimmery steel gray kind of colour. Following others' suggestions, I pick out the light blue parts for highlight and the black/dark blue parts for my outer corners.
MAC should make these permanent! I'm regretting not buying the other colours now...
