I love it. It can be used for highlighter, if you rubb it in a bit more and use a non-kabuki brush, it can be a bronzer. It's an almost natural glow, it doesn't make it your skin look as if it's been sprayed with a fake tan lotion.

gorgeous color on my NC20-25 skintone! I prefer to use this to contour my cheekbones. Goes well with my NARS Orgasm blush or MAC Dollymix blush.

This is not a great MSF for use on the face - the texture of this MSF is not as refined as others. The larger chunks of glitter in it can stand out quite noticably on the face.
I've had this MSF for a while and it's taken me quite some time to figure out a use for it - I find this MSF serves wonderfully as a body powder (especially effective on bare arms and legs).
The colour is a soft golden bronze once applied, but since I use it only as a light buffing it gives my very pale skin a hint of colour and a bit of a glow which can work wonders with an evening dress.
Despite finding a different use for this MSF, I would not repurchase as there are other MSFs that have been released with similar colour but better textures (I'm sure they'd work just as well if not better than Gold Spill).
The packaging is typical for MAC MSF's - black sturdy casing with a transparent dome through which the product is clearly visible.

This was my least favorite gold/bronze msf. It's gritty compared to the other msfs like shooting star or global glow that work so much better as a bronzer. This one was less pigmented and left lots of glitter chunck/particles, not the sort of shimmer I'm looking for. Would probably work best for lighter skin tones, I'm NC30/35 and it was too light to be used as a bronzer on me, more of a gold highlight with glitter.

This MSF gives me the perfect bronzy glow ever. It's like my skin was sunkissed all day long. It's such a lovely color even for my light fair NW15 skin. Very flattering.
The problem: It's pretty chunky glitter. But when you tap off the glitter from the brush it's amazing. It didn't show up on the face you can only see the lovely golden glow.

This is from the Flashtronic collection and it gives me a light gold-bronze glow (despite being heavy-handed and having numerous brown veinings). Also, its swatch looks similar to that of Trace Gold blush which is just slightly more pigmented IMO.
I feel that this texture just isn't as smooth as the more recent collections because of the glitter and a light tap of the brush seems to upset the powder.
I'll probably keep it though since it looks pretty
EDIT: I used another brush and now it looks more like a highlighter on me despite applying several layers. I'm NC/NW15-20 btw.

gold spill was my very first msf =] I got it from my good friend for a decent price. It was before I discovered MUA and could research, I just thought it was gorgeouss and bought it, and boy im soo glad I did!!

color:
soo pretty! its a cream color mixed with tan/brown and peach veining. and the sparkles are a little tan color. its actually perrrfect for a bronzer! its the first product I can use for a bronzer without the ruddiness and orange other products have. when I want a "jlo glow" this is what I grab, it never fails =] its also great as a highlighter, its so universal, I get a lot of uses out of this. im sure there is no dupe for this, and no other msf compares.

formula:
its a little chalky [doesn't bother me] has a lot of sparkles. but every msf is diff, you could get one with barely any. its very easy to apply.

overall:
this msf brought me into my obsession with mineralized products, and now im officially an msf whore! thanks mac =] continued >>

Gold Spill is my first mineralize skinfinish and I love it. It gives a beautiful sheer glow on my cheekbones. I don't see any glitter on me when wearing it. After I wash my makeup off, there is a bit of glitter left on the skin but I don't mind as they eventually fall off. Now I am hooked on MsF and can't wait to try a different one!

I'm highly surprised that this gets such a bum rap here, because it's the bronzer I reach for most often over NARS Laguna and Stila. I use a kabuki and swirl, tap, buff off the excess glitter and it makes my PPP skin glow like a burnished statue with subtle bronze and peach-iridescent glow. I LOVE IT!

This product gives my NC15 skin a nice, bronze glow without being too dark.I have to apply it with a light hand, because it is nicely pigmented. The glitter is out of hand. It wouldn't be problem if it's just shimmer, but it's got huge chunks of glitter that stick out on your face and make you look like you were working on an art project with a pre-schooler. So, it's great if you're going to a party or a rave or someplace where it's okay to look a bit like a harlot, but for everyday use I'd pass on this!

this did absolutely nothing for me. all that turned up on my skin was glitter, when i was hoping for a subtle bronzing affect. i would definitely not repurchase this and i do not recommend it.

OMG - Don't even get me started on this one. OK - I love MSFs, I have a ton of them and I love the line. Howfreakingever, Gold Spill is probably in bottom 3, it may even be the worst one. It's a chalky mess - there are tons of good MSFs out there, this ain't one of 'em. I collect these and that's the only reason I have it and I never reach for it.

MAC's Minerlize Skinfinish Powder in Goldspill - I love, love, love my Shimpagne and was stoked when I saw this at the Cosmetics Company Outlet for only $15! Yeah! They're usually $24.50...I paid full price for my beloved Shimpagne which has only been gently used. This one has a bit more of a coppery tint with larger bits of glitter. I just touch a bit on my browbone and above my cheek bones some highlight. Love, love, love!

OMG- i CANNOT believe the bad review here...I love this MSF sooo much ..i'm a PPP and this on top of any blush gives me the perfect glow- people always tell me how great my skin looks!!! Now that the new mineralize blushes Sonic chic 2008 were released i realize how much i love this- nothing comes close from the new collections. I was hoping nuance/warm soul MB would be similar to this but they are hard and have shimmer as well . At least here it's alittle more obvious shimmer that i can tap of my brush before applying...not 'sneaky'shimmer that makes you look like a disco-ball( hello- mineralize blushes..! ) It's so versatile! i love this over a pink blush to make it a little golden peachy pink lemonade type colour (nars orgasm comes to mind) or over peach to make it golden and tan looking. Over bronzer to give you the best glow ever!!! This is the first time in my life that i didn't get an back up of the beloved MSFs and it turnes out to my faveorite one...just my luck...I swapped my MB for a back-up and i cannot wait for it to come...BEST Product ever, beside all the other MSFs----oh looks gorgeous with Lightflush as well...

it's meant to be a highlighter, which i don't often use in the first place. i can only take shimmers, so the chunky glitters don't appeal to me. it's a beautiful product nonetheless. i'm NC30 and i thought the highlight from this product looks quite subtle though. in any case, i tried the product only 2-3x, and i put it away. just not my type and that's why i'm having this up on my swap list.

I wasn't even going to purchase this MSF, but I tried it on my hand and it actually looked like it would be a pretty gold highlight. I actually love this. It is exactly what I was hoping Albatross would be. There are a few glitter chunks which I don't like, but it isn't that bad and the colour and sheen are just perfect. I picked this up at the CCO, so I didn't pay too much for it. I would buy this again if they released again.

My first Mac MSF and I love it! Not so great for every day wear, but I love it was a highlighter or if I want a nice glow in the summer. It would be perfect if the glitter was toned down just a little.

When I first saw the pictures online, I thought this was going to be ridiculously dark. When I went to MAC and had a chance to actually play with it, I realized it gave me a sweet, slightly bronzed glow. Not dark, not dirty, just glowy. I'm glad I bought it, it's a wonderful highlighter.
