This item left white streaks on my face, make feel sticky and it also made me break out...I gave it a few tries, but I would ALWAYS break out with it.

This stuff pilled quickly on clean dry skin. YUCK! Once I brushed all of the little lotion pills off my face, I was left with a whitish sheen that still didn't feel quite right. And it has a citrus floral "I'm hiding toxic chemicals" smell that I hated. Thank heavens for samples. This is going in the trash.

This fell short of my expectations. The cream felt too thick on my face -- it's quite a bit heavier than the SPF 15 version. It didn't add much shine, which I guess was its redeeming quality. However, it seems to have increased the sensitivity of the skin on my cheeks. When I put this on, went swimming, and then later put on moisturizer, my cheeks began to sting, which has never happened before! I'm not sure if it was this sunscreen or the pool's chlorine or the combination of the two, but I don't think I'll be using this again...

This flaked off on me, & was definitely not the best sunscreen for wearing under makeup. It was pretty pricey too. The only thing nice about it at all imo is the packaging. I definitely would not purchase it again. There are much butter sunscreens out there, a lot of them being far less expensive. continued >>

ok, so i decided to try this product after I read the reviews here.
The texture is nice a little too thick,it leaves a white coating on your face in not dispersed very well. All in all its ok...quite matt, but the smell is horrible. It smells like mans aftershave. I want buy this ever again, I am really not a fan of Clarins products, I think they are a very overpriced and content is worth less than the actual package. Money is not a problem for me, but I expect quality and Clarins does not offer in their skincare range.

This is a nice matte sunscreen which also makes an excellent makeup base. I bought Shiseido 33 after all the rave reviews and it doesn't come close to this product, it was very tacky and makeup slid right off. Also tried a variety of SS from Avene, LRP, and am liking this the best. I have very oily skin in the summer.

great effective sunscreen. I'm usually allergic to any sunscreen w/ chemicals but this one I can use. I did not burn or tan when I use this so I know it is working. it does feel like you are wearing sunscreen but the reliability and protection makes it worth it. it didn't irritate my sensitive skin.

My HG sunscreen! I have extremely fair and sensitive skin, with very low tolerance for chemical sunblocks. So I used physical sunblocks and resigned myself to goopiness and white casts on my face and staying inside most of the summer. If a sunscreen didn't give me a chemical burn, it made me break out. Clarins was literally my last ditch before I gave up. Finally at age 28 I have found a sunscreen I can wear outside in hot weather without being sweaty and melting and goopy! Run, do not walk, to your Clarins counter, I have tried EVERYTHING from Coppertone to La Roche Posay and this is the best I have ever tried as far as not irritating my skin and not making me sweaty or overly oily. I usually have a reaction to non-physical blocks but not with this one. Thrilled. I put it on my face, neck, hands and decollete with no problems whatsoever. I have been using it for six months now, and I love it. I try to wear high SPF sunscreen daily because of a family history of skin cancer, and this summer I know the Clarins is working because I have not gotten darker (I am a NC 15) or burnt. Some say that this SS is unstable, I say whatever, because all I know is that I do not change color period with this or burn. So even if it is "unstable" it works for me. Thank you Clarins! My forehead does get a bit oily with this product, but for the comfort and sun protection I will forgive anything and just put on more powder. This is cheap enough for how great it is (I go through a bottle every six months and a bottle is around 40 Swiss francs) and doesn't melt or run. Even if this was 200 francs I would buy it. Seriously, this product changed my life, I used to stress so much about sunscreen because I burn within ten minutes in direct summer sun, and now I can actually enjoy the outdoors again.

I really wanted to like this. The only reason I gave it a 2 was b/c it did not give my SS burn (irritation). With every HE SS I try I'm excited and hopefully but this let me down & greased me out right away and had no hope with even powder foundation, transparent powder, and numerous blotting sessions. I just looked oily. I know I am not naturally this way but do need protective moisture through out the day - hence a good SS or day cream. I prefer my Obagi SS over any I've tried so far. I can use it plus LM Original Primer and eyecream and have a perfect skin PH all day w/ NO blotting sessions and this is summer after all. continued >>
