Kind of on the fence about this foundation. I love the color match (Bisque) and coverage. I bought it at a 2 for 1 sale at Ulta - but would not pay $25 for it in future. The problem is that no matter how little I put on or how well I blend it - it settles into every crease or line on my face within a few minutes. So I have to check my eye lids & underneath my eyes & around my mouth & the 2 lines I have on my forehead a couple of times a day. Also, not crazy about the paddle? Whether you apply the foundation directly on your skin with the paddle or wipe it on your hand & then apply - either way you are introducing bacteria into the bottle - so I don't get it. No break outs or congestion though. I do have to blot a few times a day & the color lifts but does not change color. It may just be too heavy for my skin. continued >>

After a bad reaction to Lancome Absolue Bx Foundation (itching and red splotches), I read many reviews here on MUA to find another foundation, focusing on reviews from those with sensitive skin. I tried some of this Garden Botanika foundation at Ulta today, then went grocery shopping. Within a few minutes I felt itchy and was scratching all over my face. I ran back to Ulta to get it taken off. So for me, this was not at all suitable. The color was lovely, though, and the coverage was nice. Just not for my sensitive skin!

I have normal-to-dry skin and was looking for a foundation that wasn't too shiny or too matte--a seemingly impossible task! I like to use a moisturizer and sunscreen under my makeup and the foundations I was using seemed to sit on top of my skin -- I thought the lotions were the problem but once I tried this foundation I realized it was the foundations I had been using. This doesn't sink in completely (which is good for my pores) but by mid-day I'm not afraid to touch my face for fear of smearing off any color. The coverage is medium-to-full, and vanilla is a great shade for fair skin that isn't ghostly pale. The only drawback to the unique packaging is that I won't be able to get into the corners of the bottle when I start to run low, but since it's not super-expensive, it's not that big a drawback.

A recent purchase but I <3 it. Especially neat that the concealer is a perfect match.. (usually you get your perfect match foundation and then 2-3 concealer choices..) I use Bisque.
I have been trying a lot of foundations since being pregnant.. all have made me red/itchy and does not and it looks so pretty on. I had $60 foundation and concealer on one side and this $25 on the other and I LOVED this side!!
My skin is Normal with a few dry spots right now.. :) continued >>

I am also a fan of Cashew. A excellent match for me actually. I do believe this may be a non-glow holy grail for me. The finish is natural and dewy without sparkles. The concealer seemed too light initally, but then blended perfectly.

I found this foundation while searching for replacement foundation (Paul and Joe liquid in 03). I do have acne-prone skin with an oily T-zone. This is the only liquid formulation that Garden Botanika carries--the powder is for sheer coverage, which is not for me, given my acne scars. The packaging is interesting--the top part has a concealer which has a flip up top, matching with the foundation. Unscrewing the top reveals the foundation. There's a paddle applicator inside so I use that to dab on my hand while I use fingers or foundation brush to apply. There are 8 shades that cover neutral, warm, cool, yellow based, and dark complexions. I am using Cashew. The website has a chart that helps you find your match.
Despite it having hydrating properties, it covers beautifully especially with a primer-- moderate to heavy coverage, as needed. The finish is very natural--not matte. There's no mineral oil, fragrance, lanolin. It stays on well with powder buffed into it and doesn't disappear as the day wears on. I haven't had any breakouts either. I wouldn't recommend this to very oily -skinned people but combination and normal to normal-dry could certainly wear it with a moisturizer underneath as needed.
