First of all I have used other neostrata products before, so I'm asuming people who have never used them before might get a worse reaction.
This was so terrible that I simply must write this review as a warning. I gave it 3 chances over the course of a year (just to make sure it was really this product and not something else causing the problem) and every time it would have the same horrible results. So take heed I would suggest avoiding this.
It made my skin really itchy for like 3 days. Because I looked so sickly I tried to cover it up with makeup but even that proved to be a challenge. Imagine having flaky reddish elephant skin under your eyes and trying to cover that up. This state took me about two weeks to recover from and get back to my original state.

I don't think i've ever used a product that i have hated so much in my life. i am writing about the ordeal i had with this- last febuary i think?
i have inherited dark undereye circles. they are very obvious and dark- and when i do not get any sleep, they are puffy and rediculously dark. they are the bane of my existance.
so one day my mom brought this home for me, and I was so excited. the packaging was nice, and i liked the cute little pill format it make in. i thought i could see the light at the end of the tunnel.
upon my first few uses, i was happy. my puffiness seemed to go down alot after waking up, and my cirles were definately not as dark. i was gradually increasing the doesage.
one day, i woke up, and my mom looked at me and literally thought that i had 3rd degree burns under my eyes. they were puffy, red, raw, flakey, and bumpy. and they were really painful. they didn't go away for do days, so i had to go to the dermatologist to get a special cream to heal them. and it was only like 7 mL. for 40 bucks.
i feel, even almost a year later, that the sensitive skin under my eyes are still damaged. i couldn't believe how bad the product was. my father, who is a biochemist and who develops medecine, decided to do some research.
apparently those pills contain an anesthesiac used on ANIMALS. i was in horror.
please, please stop using this is you bought it. i beg you.
i am just happy to read from the other reveiws that i am not alone in my experience.
i despise this.

Bought this since the consultant at Shopper Drug Mart was raving about how amazing it was for my horrible racoon eyes. Used it for about a week and found that it has improved the firmness and smoothed out my undereyes but has not really helped the dark circles (maybe I'm just doomed!) It is very moisturizing and does not irritate my eyes which is great! The instructions say to use alternate days to built resiliance but I didn't even notice any redness or tingling after using it continuously for a few days...and my skin is very sensitive! Comes in little capsules that you can use for two days so 40 will last over 2 months. Will finish the bottle then keep searching since this is quiet pricey.

Agree with other reviewers, absolutely does not work. I am HUGE Neostrata fan, but this product just DOESN'T WORK!!!!! If anything, it makes things worse by irritating your surrounding eye area.

agree with the other reviewers. The product instructions do caution you to use sparingly at first to build a tolerance over time, after which you can begin to use the product on a more regular basis. However, I too had swollen, red, and very dry, flaky skin under my eyes. I discontinued the use. That said, I've been using Neostrata products for about 15 years and this the first that I've had problems with. The smoothing creams etc. and mask are wonderful products.

Do not buy this product unless you want dark circles and swollen irritated eyes!!! At first when i applied it, the serum seemed to moisturize very well and quickly absorbed. When i woke up the next morning, everything was fine, until there was contact with water to wash my face!!!! I used one capsule and immediately stopped using this product and i also got a refund. It has been a week now i havent been using this product and my whole under-eye area is still all red and swollen and painful...Everytime i apply concealer it is painful and flaky!! hope it will be back to normal soon!! :-( Please beware of this product!!!!

I noticed that my dark circles seemed more noticable. So I decided to purchase the Neostrata Dark Circle Night Eye Treatment (40 single use capsules) at Shopper's Drug Mart for around $32.00 Canadian. What a huge mistake! After just one use, following the package directions as stated, my undereye area became red, swollen, irritated, and sooo painful. I probably would have had less pain, if I would have dabbed sulfuric acid under my eyes. It took over a week, and the area was still dried out and irritated. The dryness even spread to my cheekbone area. I returned the product for a full refund. I would advise consumers to think wisely before purchasing this horrible eye product, and be prepared for some nasty occurances to happen if they do purchase. I believe that the company should print a warning label in large bold letters on the outside packaging, or better still; discontinue the product.
