I have been using the Pore-Fection Skin Refining Cleanser and the mask for many years and they are both wonderful products. So when I decided to try the Gel cleanser I thought It would be just as great. Wrong! It lathers well and removed all of my makeup (even eye makeup). It does nothing to reduce the appearance of large pores or control the oiliness. It really dried my skin around my mouth and nose. After about a week I began to notice small bumps along my jawline. Needless to say I won't be using it any longer.

I must begin by saying that I currently use the Pore-Fection CLEANSER and the entire Pore-Fection line and decided to try the GEL cleanser. Did NOT like this cleanser at all, there is a HUGE difference b/w the two products. I have extremely oily skin and it really didn't seem to control the oil at all. It seemed to make me more oily/greasy throughout the day. It also did not seem to help my occasional breakouts one bit! ALSO, when I ordered the gel cleanser online it did not come with the pumps (b/c they were out of stock or something?!?!?!) And it took almost 3 weeks for them to arrive...not pleased at all. Will not purchase again...going back to the Pore-Fection Cleanser (not the gel cleanser).

First, I must mention that I used 3 products from the True Pore-Fection line. The gel cleanser, the refining mask and the skin clearing lotion. I used them diligently for a month and broke out. BADLY. It did nothing to lessen breakouts and, in fact, made my skin worse. I am 35 and suffer from mild-moderate hormonal breakouts along the jaw and hairline. After using this 3.5 weeks, I had developed a very large, painful cyst on my cheek. I *never* break out on my cheeks so I surmised it must be from using these products.
I have recently bought Paula's Choice and hope that it will clear up the mess that Pore-Fection has created.
I have given 1 lippie as I do not know for sure if it was the cleanser, the lotion or mask or a combination of all 3 that broke me out. Otherwise, I would rate it a big fat ZERO (you know, like the shape of the cyst it left me with...). The scent is off-putting as well. (a 'green' floral)

Lathers well, works ok, but the results after use are very medicore. This does not prevent oiliness, or make pores smaller. Its a basic salicyclic cleanser with low level or retinyl and grape seed extract. I bought this because the whole line (cleanser, toner, lotion) was offered for $9.99 which is a steal noticing the lotion is $9.50 by itself.

I love this stuff! I sorta disagree with the reviewer below. As far as drying, let me tell you, I have sensitive combo. skin and am in my 30's and almost everything either dries me out or is too greasy, but this thankfully is neither. It does say in the booklet it's made more for adult acne and breakouts. I happen to be out of it and I'm dying because I'm using a sample of Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean until I can get some and it's just not the same. It does have Salicylic Acid in it which is great for exfoliating, and I always use a mositurizer afterward (Aveda's All Senstive). I only use this in the morning otherwise I can see where it could be drying, but I have never had a problem using it like how I mentioned. In fact last year I had a bad acne spell for the first time ever in my life (Hormonoes ugh!) and this was one the only things that helped. My skin is perfect now! And it's like $4 or something. Can't beat it.

It's an OK cleanser. It's gel-based so it's a bit too drying and stripping my natural oil. For reference, I'm oily and acne-prone. My skin is pretty clear thanks to other products. This cleanser is great in the morning when I need to rinse off the grease my skin produces at night. I pump a tiny amount, rub between my palms, and then apply on my wet skin. It works, but again, not the most gentle cleanser. And if you've researched enough on skincare, you would find that every skin type should stick to gentle cleansers. This is not one.
