I have cystic acne and ALWAYS break out when using sunscreen - and I've tried tons of different brands. This is the first one that DIDN'T make me break out, so I will use it again. It's a little greasier than I would like, and I find that I need to use powder on top of it to cut down the shine.

I *really* wanted to like this stuff, but, I ended up going back to Clinique Superdefense. Superdefense has a slightly lower SPF, but feels so much nicer on the skin. Kate Somerville had a slightly tacky/rough texture on the skin, and started a slight breakout with my combination skin. Smelled great, though!

I love this sunscreen!!!! I have been resistent to wearing sunscreen religiously, as it usually makes my face look oily after an hour or so. This sunscreen goes on and disappears...........no chalky looking skin..........no film! It actually makes my foundation go on easier, like a primer. Now, I look forward to wearing sunscreen.
(it does have a frangrance..........kind of a soap smell - that clean scent) - but that is only evident if you wear it alone, without anything over it.

i've used so many different skincare lines and so far this is the best. i have extremely combination skin that can either get really oily or really dry with the wrong products. after going to the kate somerville clinic for a facial i fell in love with the products.
this is a great sunscreen. it moisturizes well without being overly oily or greasy. the smell sometimes bothers me since it tends to linger throughout the day. but since this is such a great product, it's worth it.

Well, I have once again gone into the abyss of trying a new skincare line. I tend to do it when somthing catches my eye. I have tried lots of things that worked great and other that did squat. This one works very well. I LOVE THE KATE SOMERVILLE PACKAGING, it is totally unique and sanitary. Some may say with the push pump top on most of the jar creams that you leave a lot in the case when it stosp coming out but this is true with everything even a tube unless you have an free open jar. I advise everyone to cut apart tubes when they seem to be empty there is a bit more in there for a day or two or sometimes even more and also with these BREAK THOSE BABIES OPEN. I will do that when these say they are out and just put in regular jar until gone. Won't be wasting a bit of this because the price of all her products are high. But so far I like them all. Some are not to die for but they all work good. I have reviewed all my products so take a peak.
This sunscreen works well and does a good job on sensitive skin. When I do tan in the tanning salon which is seldom I always put sunscreen around my eyes and around my nose and mouth area. This one didn't irrate my eye or any other area at all. Smells nice too! Another pooper is the price of most of the KS products but I look at it this way, I only have one face and I will do my best to keep it looking great until I'm gone....:)

I love this product! It sinks in beautiful leaving no residue....I live in humid climates and this one works just fine. I had been using skinceuticals ultimate defense...but its too thick in humidity....Kate's sunscreen is lovely....gentle and more like a lotion w no stickiness......and I do love the citrusy smell! Don't know why its got some bad reviews......

I edited my response to this product because I researched that sunscreens DO NOT block 99% of sun rays. It is important to have either zinc oxide or titanium oxide or both in sun protection. Although the consistency of this product is amazing, it doesn't do the the job of avoiding sun damage. I would say go out and get your hands on Perricone spf 26 solar protection that comes w DMAE and also acts as a moisturizer. Sure, its expensive...but must say its a product I have been waiting for!!!

I like this product. For me it is not greasy and it goes on nice and smooth. One thing I really like is if I get wet or whatever it doesn't sting my eyes(I hate when sunscreens do that). And I don't have to use a lot of it either. I would continue to purchase this!

After trying diff sunscreens out with no sucess all leading to break outs I thought about the KS sample I used with an reaction =0 This matters when your going through just about everything. I must say I hadn't ordered because I was trying to save a buck but the facts slapped me in the face again. Yes there is afruity citrus type aroma but I actually like it =) So I wish I had just dropped the $35 and been done searching!

I bought a whole slew of Kate Somerville products, since I had a good feeling about them. While I love Kate in a Jar...the rest of the products, well, they unfortunately did not agree with me (or, should I say, agree with my skin). I don't think this sunscreen specifically caused any problems for my skin, but I simply couldn't handle the scent or the greasy feeling it left on my skin. :(
Oh well! It was worth a try.

I love this product. The smell is great. It's very light compared to other sunscreens I have used, and it doesn't white out my face.

This is a great daily sunscreen for combination or oily skin - it's super light. Not greasy at all. But, it does leave a bit of a shine - nothing powder/makeup won't fix though. i love the light scent. However, it is expensive - a great alternative is DERMAdocotr body guard for face and body: also spf 30, Oil Free, and leaves a matte finish, less expensive and larger tube.

I have super oily skin but since using KS products and getting monthly facilas at her cilnic since Dec. 2006....my skin def. more balanced. I love this sunscreen! It seems to sink into my skin and I actually love the smell. It's a citrusy, clean smell.

I did NOT like this sunscreen at all and I LOOOOVE the Kate Somerville line. It's too heavily fragranced and it has an artificial smell (I don't really know how to describe it). It feels grimy on my face. There are far better sunscreens out there with a much better price. This sunscreen retails for $35 for 2 unsatisfactory ounces.
