I recently found out I have Plaque Psoriasis. It's on my legs. I like to switch brands every few months but whatever brand I'm using needs to be natural & moisturizing, the skin on my legs is very dry & sensitive. When I tried this I honestly couldn't believe how soft & moisturized my skin felt afterwards! It felt as if I'd put lotion on already. My skin felt relieved after first use. And you don't have to use a lot at all! A little honestly goes a long way so be careful when pouring it onto sponge because too much will easily come out. It would be nice for the hole to be smaller so that so much wouldn't come out. So yes this wash is moisturizing and gentle. I've used it on my face a few times. I have bad hyperpigmintation and so I'm using the Dermalogica Tri active cleanse to fade, it can be drying and harsh on the skin. To avoid drying out my skin about one or two evenings a week I use this and works just fine.
I have purchased this body wash a lot, along with the other Aveeno body washes. this one is the best as far as sensitive skin is concerned. I recently purchased an Olay body wash, it seemed to be fine. Then I developed a poison ivy rash and the Olay wash was just too irritating. I quickly ran out to repurchase this wash. It lathers well and is fragrance free and that is best since fragrance is very irritating to sensitive skin. I will continue to purchase this wash along with the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing and Aveeno Stress Relief (this one may be discontinued). I prefer these over the Aveeno Positively Nourishing line. I have used Dove, Olay, BBW, and Philosophy and I have no plans to stray again. I have very sensitive skin and I am just going to stick with what works.
This is an amazing bodywash for someone with "weird" skin like me. As a child I had eczema which I grew out of for the most part. In my early teens, I developed seborrheic dermatitis, which eventually turned into scalp psoriasis along the back of my hair line (I still have it). I also had perioral dermatitis when I was 19. Aside from all that, I do have to be moderately careful about what I put on my skin because certain products will make me itch and/or give me a rash. About six months ago I moved into a new house with my boyfriend, and our new house doesn't have a water softener. I don't know for sure if that's the only culprit but I do know that after about 2-3 weeks of showering in hard water, my scalp psoriasis was the absolute worst it's ever been, and my skin in general seemed to become more sensitive. I had a few very small patches of either eczema or psoriasis (they were so tiny I couldn't tell for sure) on my arm and back. I finally decided to give Aveeno products a try and I'm sure glad I did.
I started out by using their Active Naturals Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream instead of the heavily fragranced B&BW lotions I'd been using. Within a couple weeks, the itching and patches on my skin had greatly improved. More recently, I decided to try out their Skin Relief Body Wash. This has improved my skin even more, and the patches are completely gone. It leaves my skin feeling soft but not overly, grossly moisturized and it definitely doesn't leave a film. It feels just right. I realized just how well this product works for me when I, like an idiot, decided to try a Desert Organics body wash from my local organic store after my first bottle of Aveeno ran out. It was fragrance-free, sulfate-free, paraben-free, etc., so I thought it would work just as well as the Aveeno. I was wrong. After just one day of using it I had itchy spots on my legs and especially my lower back. Needless to say, I'm going back to Aveeno. My only complaint about this product is that it contains sodium laureth sulfate. I *do not* like sulfates (and neither does my skin, usually) and try to avoid it in everything. But for whatever reason, it doesn't cause any problems in this body wash. I will definitely repurchase.
I can't believe I haven't written a review for this yet.
Like the reviewer below, a thousand times yes to this body wash! I have KP on my arms, and a little on my legs, a few small eczema patches, and normal/dry skin everywhere else. I need something that will clean without stripping away any moisture from my skin. Strong fragrances tend to make me itchy, so that's a no-no.
This body wash is thick, provides creamy lather and even my husband uses it.
I've repurchased this over and over and over already. Costco sometimes sells a double pack with a bonus...I got one recently for $12 (!!).
Sometimes, if I'm feeling wild and dangerous, I'll add a small drop of a fragranced body wash onto my body sponge with a dollop of this for a scented treat.
I will love this body wash forever. Yay Aveeno!!
Finalllyyyyy - I live in a city with extremely hard water and this doesn't irritate my skin at ALL. I have extremely itchy, hive-prone skin that breaks out spectacularly in response to fragrances and any other unnecessary additives. I was doubtful about this product as it's not a hippie soap (I normally love those). My skin is actually soft after using this body wash. Total win!
Yes yes a thousands times yes ! i will repurchase this !!!!
Finally the search for my HG body wash has ended. I have very sensitive skin, almost all the commercial body washes and even more expensive ones leave my skin dry or very red and irritated (i'm looking at you dove and st ives ) . i have eczema on my inner arms, KP on my upper arms, and normally somewhat dry skin everywhere else. So my body wash has to fulfill many needs. It can't be so drying that it makes my skin tight, or so rich that it breaks my KP out, or irritating so that it doesn't flare my eczema; that means fragrance is usually a no no.. and it would be a bonus if it didn't break the bank, since i am a very broke student. So before this i had been using shikai's body wash which was "natural", moisturizing and very pleasant smelling (the fragrance didn't irritate my skin surprisingly" but it was pretty pricey, about 10$ for a 12oz bottle. it was a little too pricey for me. finally i tried this. The results. it lathers beautifully in my Salux cloth, leaves my skin feeling clean, but never ever stripped or dry, in fact i can skip body moisturizer when i use this. it's fragrance -free , the other version of the aveeno has added fragrance to it, so i opted for this one. it's about 5$ for 12oz, significantly cheaper than shikai, but oddly enough, ive spotted an 18oz size for around 8$ at Target, i always buy this with coupons when i can.
I Honestly Dont Have Much To Say About This Product. Honestly I'm A Fan Of Scented Shower Gels/Creams I Thought I Would Completely Hate This Conidering That My Brother Loves And Raves About It But I'm Suprised I Love It! It's Super Moisturizing And Gives A Light Scent Of Oatmeal Wich Is Great! I Have Sensitive Skin And This Product Works Super Well To Keep My Skin Hydrated And Smooth All Night. The Only Actual Downside For Me Is That I Have Very Overdrying Skin So Even After My Wash I Can Tell The Soap And Moisture Didn't Sink In Because My Skin Is Still Dry. Overall A Pretty Good Product But It's Not My Go-To Shower Cream.
This is my favorite body wash! I don't need any other moisturizer on my body when I use this and it's really mild and non-irritating. I use it with a puff to get some good foam, and I enjoy the light scent and how healthy my skin feels with it. Definitely recommend this product if you have sensitive and/or dry skin.
my all time favorite body wash and shave gel. no irritation or stinging, perfect for sensitive skin or eczema
This product has saved me from scratching my skin off in the winter. As I have gotten older, my skin has gotten dryer. I have tried all the 'regular' brands of drugstore body gels, and for me this is the clear winner hands down for dry skin. Before I found this, I was afraid that I would have to go to a dermatologist to find some skin relief. I am in general not a fan of Aveeno products, but if you have dry skin and you have not tried it -- GIVE IT A TRY. It may work for you. It is worth the extra money.
